The Vampire Diaries and its characters were so appealing and successful that a spinoff of the show only made sense. Between The Originals and The Vampire Diaries, fans of the two shows got a taste for a lot of steamy romances. However, many of the actors had off-screen romances with each other.

While the Nina Dobrev/Ian Somerhalder relationship might be the best known, there’s another couple that was hitched way before they starred in the series.
Who is Michael Malarkey?
Malarkey’s beginnings started on the London stage, where he had lead roles in Spring Storm by Tennessee Williams and an adaptation of The Great Gatsby. He went to school and studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
He got his big break when he landed the role of Lorenzo “Enzo” St. John in the television show The Vampire Diaries.

Last week’s “Law & Order: Organized Crime” episode ended on a nail-biting cliffhanger: Task force member Jet Slootmaeker (Ainsley Seiger) was violently abducted by her target Seamus O’Meara (Michael Malarkey) after blowing her cover. We last saw her unarmed and in the trunk of his car as her colleagues desperately tried to find her.
Her boss, Ayanna Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt), tried to tell Jet she was getting too close to Seamus, but Jet convinced her to let her back into the field, where it all went disastrously wrong.
Seiger spoke to TheWrap before the conclusion of the two-parter about why Jet blames herself and how much she loved filming the two episodes. “I had the time of my life getting thrown into that trunk. It was so much fun,” she said of getting to do her own stunts.

Detective Jet Slootmaekers (Ainsley Seiger) is in some serious trouble right now on Law & Order: Organized Crime. Jet went undercover to get close to Seamus O’Meara (Michael Malarkey), who works for crime boss Eamonn Murphy (Timothy V. Murphy). But when it looked like her cover was blown, she identified herself… only to end up in Seamus’ trunk. Seiger teases what’s ahead and discusses Jet and Seamus’ complicated relationship. Why did Jet drop her cover versus just saying she wore a wig? Or did she think it was the best time to try to get Seamus to surrender? Ainsley Seiger: I had the exact same thought. Why don’t I just say, “Oh, I got a bad haircut. I regret it. I wanted to see what I look like with bangs”? That’s a perfectly good excuse, but it’s also worth taking into account that this is the...

Project Blue Book has been sealed away in the proverbial Area 51 of cancelation by cable channel History after two seasons on the air.
History’s Project Blue Book cancelation, reported via Deadline, occurs a little over a month after its March 24 airing of the show’s Season 2 finale, which ended things with the renewal-entreating device of a cliffhanger regarding the fate of one of its two main characters. However, for reasons not yet known, the network didn’t bite, instead opting not to renew the series, which was a production of A+E Studios and Compari Entertainment. The network also confirmed the long-expected news of its cancelation of medieval series Knightfall.
The aforementioned Season 2 finale, “Operation Mainbrace,” utilized the backdrop of escalating Cold War tensions to place our tenacious investigative duo—the biographically-based Dr. J. Allen Hynek (Aidan Gillen) and fictionalized fact-based representation U.S. Air Force Captain Michael Quinn (Michael Malarkey)—in a classic cliffhanger scenario,...

Project Blue Book fans will be left with a few questions after History cancelled the Aidan Gillen-fronted drama.
The second season of the UFO drama ended on March 24 with Gillen’s Dr. Allen Hynek searching for his colleague Capt. Michael Quinn, played by Michael Malarkey, who was evidently blown to bits by an underwater explosion.
However, the A+E Networks’ cable network has opted not to pursue a third season of the show.
The show was created by David O’Leary, who served as writer and executive producer alongside writer-showrunner Sean Jablonski, Zemeckis, Jackie Levine and Barry Jossen.
Produced by A+E Studios and Compari Entertainment, Project Blue Book is inspired by the personal experiences of Dr. J. Allen Hynek (Gillen), a brilliant college professor recruited by the U.S. Air Force to spearhead this clandestine operation — Project Blue Book — that researched thousands of cases, more than 700 of which remain unsolved to this day.

Keir O’Donnell (Wedding Crashers) is set for a recurring role on the second season of History’s hit UFO drama series Project Blue Book, from A+E Studios and executive producer Robert Zemeckis. Starring Aidan Gillen and Michael Malarkey, Project Blue Book is based on the true, top-secret investigations into Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) and related phenomena conducted by the U.S. Air Force in the 1950s and 60s. Neal McDonough, Michael Harney, Laura Mennell and Ksenia Solo also star. O’Donnell will play Even William Blake, a charmingly eccentric alien enthusiast with a religious dedication to his weekly U.F.O meetings. He takes a liking to Mimi Hynek and, thanks to his encyclopedic knowledge of everything extraterrestrial, quickly becomes friend, confidant, and premier informer to Project Blue Book’s best behind-the-scenes agent. The cast of History's Project Blue Book shared their thoughts on UFOs and recent UFO news, including the proposed raid on Area 51.
History's Project Blue Book is getting a second season, and we finally got a glimpse into what it might cover at a panel during the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con. However, the show is about UFOs, and with all of the UFO news in the headlines, the cast's thoughts on the UFO topic itself made for some great conversation. The Project Blue Book cast even had some praise for their fellow History UFO series, Unidentified: Inside America's UFO Investigation.
The panel included Aidan Gillen (Dr. J. Allen Hyenk), Michael Malarkey(Captain Quinn), Laura Mennell (Mimi Hynek), Neal McDonough and Sean Jablonski (Showrunner/Executive Producer/Writer). I was able to ask the panel to share their thoughts on UFOs and if the show affected their views. Gillen started...

The inspiration for the General Harding character, Roswell, and Area 51 were topics discussed at the Sdcc Project Blue Book Panel.
At San Diego Comic-Con 2019, Project Blue Book held a panel to tease information about the second season of the series. The panel included Aidan Gillen (Dr. J. Allen Hyenk), Michael Malarkey (Captain Quinn), Laura Mennell (Mimi Hynek), Neal McDonough and Sean Jablonski (Showrunner/Executive Producer/Writer).
Starting off the discussion were O'Leary and Jablonski who say they are looking to have more fun in the second season. This comment likely translates to exploring more fictional storylines. The duo explained they do try to make the show fact and science-based, but feels it also has to be fun.
Some UFO enthusiasts have been frustrated at how much fiction the show added to the real-life story of Dr. J. Allen Hyenk. Hynek was a consultant for the U.S, Air Force...

When “The X-Files” returned for two revival seasons starting in 2016, fans of the classic ’90s series were a bit underwhelmed beyond the initial thrill of seeing Mulder and Scully back in action. Many shows on both broadcast and cable have tried to replicate the indelible success of “The X-Files” and specifically the chemistry between Mulder and Scully but few have come close. History’s “Project Blue Book” is another show drawing clear inspiration from the cult Fox series and might just be the show to scratch your “X-Files” itch.
The series is based on the real Project Blue Book study of the 1950s, which set out to examine the presence of UFOs and determine whether they were a threat to national security. Like “The X-Files,” “Project Blue Book” follows a pair of investigators, one a logically-minded ufologist, Dr. J Allen Hynek and the other an Air Force pilot who relies on gut instinct,...

Neal McDonough is having the time of his life on “Project Blue Book,” the new History series based on the real-life UFO studies that took place in the United States in the 1950s. McDonough plays General James Harding, a government official who co-founds Project Blue Book and manages a pair of special investigators, J. Allen Hynek (Aiden Gillen) and Michael Quinn (Michael Malarkey) while keeping their extraterrestrial findings out of the public consciousness. “There’s something about General Harding that is so much fun to play,” McDonough admits. “I love to find the goodness in villains and the badness in heroes, ’cause I don’t anyone in life who’s purely evil or purely good.” Watch the exclusive video interview above.
