Nearly every commercial that runs on TV is backed by a guarantee of how big an audience will watch it. Late last year, Fox and Netflix decided to throw out that rule, one of the oldest in media economics.
In November, Fox ran a two-minute-long segment during its Sunday-afternoon NFL showcase — one of the most-watched programs on TV. After one of Fox’s announcers told the audience to stay tuned for a special segment, viewers saw former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman having a conversation with film director Zack Snyder. With the help of augmented reality technology, the filmmaker quickly ushered the athlete into the world of “Rebel Moon,” the sci-fi epic Snyder wrote and directed that was released on Netflix late last year.
What audiences weren’t told is that the vignette was an experiment of sorts conducted by Netflix and its media buying agency, Interpublic Group’s Mediahub,...

Super Bowl Lvii won’t start until February 12 of next year. Even so, Fox, the network slated to broadcast the event, is close to scoring a major game touchdown.
The network is nearly sold out of commercial inventory for the sports extravaganza, says Mark Evans, executive vide president of ad sales for Fox Sports, in an interview, with 95 of its Super Bowl ad inventory spoken for. The executive estimated Fox has five or fewer 30-second slots left to sell.
Activity around the Super Bowl has “escalated significantly,” says Evans. Advertisers “are eager for sports, without question, but I also think the major marketers who are going to be in the game want to make sure they can secure the position they want.” So-called “A positions,” or the first ads in commercial breaks, “are very finite,” says Evans. “It’s a perishable commodity.”

The incredibly hot Brit actress Kacey Barnfield, whom some of my UK audience may recognise as Neil's sexy older sister in the brilliant E4 comedy series 'The Inbetweeners', is certainly making her stamp in the horror relam of late. She recently played Crystal in zombie sequel 'Resident Evil: Afterlife' but not before getting down right and dirty in some fully frontal nude scenes in new croc-attack sequel 'Lake Placid 3'. Griff Hurst's made for TV follow-up stars Yancy Butler, Colin Ferguson, Mark Evans and Michael Ironside. You can check out Barnfield in all her topless glory as well as a sweet ass shot below, and catch a glimpse of the good bits in action in the red band trailer. Horror is awesome. 'A game warden moves his family to Lake Placid, once the site of deadly crocodile attacks. Locals assure him the crocs are gone,...
