- Did Extra work on 'Trial and Retribution'. Enough is enough. Decided to write his own scripts because there are no vehicles out there to promote his career in television. All of his scripts were rejected. Script training needed. Joined London Screenwriters' Workshop and The Script Factory. (September 1997)
- Published a short story on Ukawsaw Gronniosaw titled 'Annals of an Afro-Briton' in The New Cauldron magazine. 'The Dark Angel' has been expanded and retitled 'Mother Seacole'. Doing work experience at Penguin Publishers, but left the position because of a lack of job satisfaction. Set up the Tooting and Balham Writers' Circle to workshop material at Tooting Library. - Started attending live shows at BBC Television Centre (particularly 'Today's the Day') whilst in the final year of studying Theology. Will apply to be a contestant on the show. Also started attending live shows at London Weekend Television, particularly 'Just a Minute'. (October 1993)
- Return back from overseas missionary work in Sweden with YWAM (Youth with a Mission). Still doing Extra work on 'The Bill', but will apply to Wycliffe Hall, Oxford University to pursue a vocational degree in Theology in order to become ordained in the Church of England. (September 1995)
- Published a short story on Mary Seacole titled 'The Dark Angel' in Writers' Forum magazine. Hoping to expand the story into a novel. Doing work experience at Bloomsbury Publishers, but having disagreements with the publicity department regarding mistreatment in the workplace. - Studying Digital Filmmaking at South Thames College, Wandsworth with ten-minute script titled 'Sunday Roast'. Producing stage play titled 'An Interview with Mary Seacole' for Wandsworth Black History Month 2005 at the African Caribbean Community Library in Battersea. More research at UCLA to develop feature film on Olaudah Equiano. Published an article on Olaudah Equiano in The Writing Magazine. (September 2005)
- Studying Video Documentary Production course at Westminster Adult Education Service. Writing a docu-drama titled 'Around the World in 21 Days' based on travels worldwide and the 1960s television series, 'The Fugitive'. There will be an omnipresent narrator who is not seen but knows the thoughts and feelings of all the characters. The only scene that will be dramatised is Sequence C set in a seedy hostel in King's Cross, Sydney, Australia. (September 2006)

- Developing first feature film titled 'The Novelist', originally titled 'Single Unemployed Male' until it was rejected by Wandsworth Film Awards, BBC Television and UK Film Council. Pre-Production set for October, and principal photography set for November. Editing will begin in December and completed by the end of January 2009 for a preview screening on Friday 30th January 2009. (September 2008)

- Just completed an experimental documentary titled 'Iceland' that touches on the Viking invasion of Mauretania in 861AD. Promoting 'A Londoner's Journey through South Africa' for Haringey and Wandsworth Black History Month 2007, and developing a short documentary on the childhood of Olaudah Equiano in Benin. Also developing a short documentary on Menelik l - the son of the Queen of Sheba and King David. (September 2007)

- Doing script research at the British Film Institute in order to adapt 'Mother Seacole' into a feature film script in preparation for the 2005 Bicentenary of the birth of Mary Seacole. Unsuccessful in pursuit of a novel. Travelling to LA to do develop a script on Olaudah Equiano at the American Film Institute in preparation for the 2007 Bicentenary of the 1807 Abolition of the Slave Trade Act. (September 2004)
- He was awarded the BEM (Order of the British Empire Medal) in the 2023 King's New Year's Honours List for his services to Cultural Heritage and Public Awareness of Black British History through the Creative Arts. Reverend Young is a Writer and Director in London, England.
