Mumbai, March 10 (Ians) Skipper Alyssa Healy’s sensational 96 not out along with clinical bowling performances from Sophie Ecclestone and Deepti Sharma powered Up Warriorz bowlers to a dominating 10-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore in a Women’s Premier League (Wpl) 2023 match at the Brabourne Stadium, here on Friday.
This was Up’s second win in three matches and they are at third spot in the points table while Rcb suffered their fourth consecutive loss to stay at the bottom.
Ecclestone (4/13) and Deepti (3/26) helped Up Warriorz bowl out Rcb for 138 despite a fighting half-century (52 off 39) by Ellyse Perry. After Perry, Sophie Devine (36 off 24) was next top-scorer for Rcb as other batters struggled to get going against a disciplined Up bowling attack.
Chasing a small target, Healy helped Up get off to a flying start. She hit eight out of the 10 fours that were scored in the powerplay to dismantle Rcb...

During the player auction held earlier in the month, Bangalore made some big-ticket purchases in terms of overseas players.
They got in Australia’s premier all-rounder Ellyse Perry and her pace counterpart Megan Schutt along with Wbbl regular Erin Burns, as well as England, and New Zealand skippers Heather Knight, and Sophie Devine, apart from South Africa’s leg-spin all-rounder Dane van Niekerk.
But who gets into the four overseas slots out of six marquee players in the playing eleven throughout the 22-game tournament starting from March 4 and running till March 26 is a question which will keep the Bangalore think-tank on their toes, something which was agreed by Mike Hesson, Director of Cricket at Rcb.
"It’s something which will be relevant throughout the whole tournament. But when you look at the programme and see four games in the first six days, it’s highly likely all six will play a role at some stage.

"Paycheck ain't going to mean shit if you die two miles in, Kenny." View the first official trailer for an indie survival horror-thriller titled Mine 9, about a horrible mine disaster trapping nine men underground. From filmmaker Eddie Mensore, the film takes place in the Appalachians, where miners working two miles into the earth end up stuck underground after a methane explosion leaves them with only one hour of oxygen. Mine 9 stars Terry Serpico, Mark Ashworth, Kevin Sizemore, Clint James, Drew Starkey, Alpha Trivette, Erin Elizabeth Burns, Francine Locke, and Elizabeth Houston. The other recent big mine survival film was The 33, based on the true story. This one looks very dark and murky and muddy, of course, but also a bit more violent and crazy and dangerous. That horror wink at the end of this trailer is a bit odd. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Eddie Mensore's Mine 9,...
