Code Black Films' "Frankie & Alice" has a new trailer up for the film which hits theaters April 4th. This one has been a long time coming and is in fact a 2010-produced film, which is helmed by Geoffrey Sax from the writing by Cheryl Edwards, Marko King, Mary King, Jonathan Watters, Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse. That's a lot of scribes. "Frankie & Alice" is inspired by the remarkable true story of an African American go-go dancer "Frankie" with multiple personalities (dissociative identity disorder or “Did”) who struggles to remain her true self while fighting against two very unique alter egos: a seven-year-old child named Genius and a Southern white racist woman named Alice. In order to stop the multiple voices in her head, Frankie (Berry) works together with a psychotherapist (Stellan Skarsgard) to uncover and overcome the mystery of the inner ghosts that haunt her.

Britain's Duchess of Cornwall joined Zara Phillips at the International Horse Show on Wednesday (19.12.12). The 65-year-old royal relived the success of the 2012 Olympics at the London-based event in Hammersmith, where she greeted a crowd of equestrian Olympian champions including her niece Zara. Camilla welcomed Zara - who won a silver medal in the three-day eventing category - with a kiss on the cheek before greeting her teammates Tina Cook, William Fox-Pitt, Mary King and Nicola Wilson. The excited athletes were seen waving flags from the sidelines, with their medals displayed proudly around their necks. The duchess is a keen equestrian and is a patron of The British Equestrian Federation, and appeared to be enjoying herself at the...

Britain's Zara Phillips' father is backing her to win Olympic gold - if she can beat his team. Captain Mark Phillips - who won a gold medal as part of Britain's three-day eventing team at the 1972 Olympics in Munich - coaches the Us eventing squad and admits he has divided loyalties ahead of the competition. He told Horse and Hound magazine: 'Of course everyone in this country is hoping the Brits can win on home soil, taking team gold for the first time in 40 years and in the Diamond Jubilee year to boot. 'If they can hold it together certainly, William Fox-Pitt, Mary King, Tina Cook, Nicola Wilson and my daughter Zara have the talent, experience and ability...

From 2001-2005, Hollywood went on a bender adapting Japanese horror into English-language thrillers starring pretty young actresses (Naomi Watts, Sarah Michelle Gellar) and ghost-faced, black-eyed children. The trend fizzled, as trends do, but appears ready to start back up again as producers eye a potential remake of a Taiwanese hit. Marko King, Mary King and Jonathan Watters . the screenwriting team hired to pen Frankie & Alice for Halle Berry . have been tapped by Gold Circle to adapt Chao-Bin Su.s 2006 thriller Silk for American audiences. The story involves a crippled scientist who invents a device dubbed the .Menger Sponge,. which he uses to capture the ghostly spirits of a child. The other main character in the piece, Detective Tung, joins the scientist.s research team to figure out why the angry spirit will not fade, even as government officials learn about the .Sponge. and try to shut the scientist down. "Frankie & Alice" scribes Marko King, Mary King and Jonathan Watters are re-teaming to pen an American remake of the 2006 Taiwanese supernatural thriller "Silk" for Gold Circle Films reports Heat Vision.
The original followed a group of ghost hunters who capture the spirit of a child in an apartment and the detective charged with discovering clues to the ghost's identity and demise. The remake is said to depart from the original, so it's more a 're-conception' than a remake.
The tone of the remake is said to be "Michael Crichton meets The Sixth Sense". Rob Cowan and Paul Brooks will produce.

You might not think that the three writers who cranked out the script for 2010 Halle Berry drama Frankie & Alice are the ideal people to adapt Silk, a chilling Taiwanese tale of a dead child and the driven scientist who captures his energy in an old apartment building, for Western audiences, but Gold Circle Films disagrees. The company has hired Marko King, Mary King and Jonathan Watters to get the job done. The 2006 original, directed by Chao-Bin Su, found a crippled scientist using his new invention, the Menger Sponge, to capture the essence of a vengeful ghost child. Employing the services of a lip-reading detective to discover why the spooky sprog’s energy is still so powerful, they eventually figure out that the poor lad’s mother killed the tumour-ridden tot and buried him near a nuclear plant. Naturally, things go scare-shaped from there.According to the Heat Vision Blog, Gold...

If you thought Hollywood was done raiding Asian cinema for horror movie material, you’d be wrong. Dead wrong. Get it? Because the genre is horror? And people usually die in it? But I digress. The latest Asian horror movie to find its way to Hollywood via the remake chopping block is the 2006 Taiwanese supernatural drama “Silk”, about “scientists who capture the ghost of a child in an apartment and the detective charged with discovering clues to the ghost’s identity and demise.” Gold Circle Films is remaking the movie, and has assigned writers Marko King, Mary King and Jonathan Watters to take a crack at the script. The remake is expected to divert from the original premise, and the new premise is being called “Michael Crichton meets The Sixth Sense.” By which I’m guessing they mean science will figure prominently into the plot. Plus, ghosts, I would imagine.

Gold Circle is set to remake the Taiwanese supernatural thriller Silk. THR reportst that the studio has tapped Marko King, Mary King and Jonathan Watters (Frankie & Alice) to pen the American remake of the 2006 film.
The original film tells the story of scientists who capture the ghost of a child in an apartment and the detective charged with discovering clues to the ghost's identity and demise. The new film is being re-concieved and will depart from the original’s plot. The project is described as “Michael Crichton meets The Sixth Sense.”
At this time there are no further details available. This sounds odd, why even call it a remake, if they are departing from the original so much? Check out the trailer for the original below and share your thoughts!

Gold Circle Films has plans to remake the Chao-Bin Su film, Silk , says a story at The Hollywood Reporter . They've signed the Frankie & Alice team of Marko King, Mary King and Jonathan Watters to provide the screenplay. Released in Hong Kong in 2006, Silk told the story of the ghost of a child who is pulled back to the world of the living after a scientific experiment. With the spirit trapped in an apartment, a detective is brought in to try and learn about both the afterlife and what really killed the child. Few details are available about the tone the remake will take, though it is said to be a significant departure from the original film. Paul Brooks and Rob Cowan will produce with Robin Jonas Scott Niemeyer serving as executive producers.

That Silk remake we told you was looking for writers back in February has found not just one, but three writers. Heat Vision reports Marko King, Mary King and Jonathan Watters have been hired by Gold Circle to adapt the Taiwanese film originally directed by Su Chao-Bin. They recently penned the 2010 drama Frankie & Alice . This trio, says the Heat Vision report, will deviate slightly from the source material, which concerns scientists who traps a child's ghost. Here, they're doing a film that is being described as "Michael Crichton meets The Sixth Sense "...which could very well describe the original, I suppose.
