Jesus Florido
- Music Department
- Composer
Jesus Florido has a very diverse music background. A classically trained violinist and composer he has always pushed the boundaries of his surroundings. His father's love for all great music and his mother's paintings molded him into a very visual musician. His love for composing was always there but it was while at Indiana University and Butler University where he attended a John Corigliano masterclass that inspired him to write more. His college composition teacher Michael Schelle was also very influential on his film composition journey. Dr. Schelle loves film music and taught a film music class that really made a mark in his composition dreams. It was not until early 2000's when Jesus moved to Los Angeles to pursue a studio musician career that he got the chance to write actual scores to films and other visual arts projects. His violin is his career but film composing is closing in. He has learned to listen to the director/writer and find their voice in music and bring it alive in the film.
