Tommy Wirkola, the Norwegian director responsible for the excellent Nazi-zombie flick Dead Snow, and the genius behind the long-in-production Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, will next be turning his hand to TV with Hell Fjord which follows:
Unorthodox policeman Salmander [who] is banished from the city to a fjord and the local county sheriff’s office, where he discovers a bizarre village full of quirky residents which may also be the gateway to hell.
Wirkola is, according to the Nfi, once again working with Terje Stromstad, Benedicte Aubert Ringnes and Kjetil Omberg, who together were previously been behind Kill Buljo and the aforementioned Dead Snow. He will head up the series, and reportedly direct the first episode.
Hell Fjord is set to begin shooting in May for an expected January 2012 broadcast.
