Both teams have had quite a slow start to the Premier League season, respectively coming into the game in 14th and 18th place.
In Swansea’s case their slower start could be put down to their involvement in Europe, we all saw how Newcastle struggled last season, and it seems to be taking affect on the Swans too.
An extremely disappointing result in last-week’s Welsh derby combined with the news that headline-grabber Michu will be out for a month, has made it a tough week for the Swans, who have been consistently making good headlines ever since their promotion to the top-flight.
Swansea will hoping that record signing Wilfried Bony will be able to start scoring in a absence of Michu, the Ivorian has shown good form in Europe scoring 3 in 3, but has struggled in the league with only 2 goals in 7 appearances.

Manchester United will be looking to bounce back after Monday’s defeat to neighbours City by overcoming a tough test at the Britannia Stadium. Stoke City have only lost three games at home this season but currently ly in 15th place in the Premier League and are right in the relegation mixer, mainly due to their poor away form with one away win all season. The Potters are just three points above the relegation zone going into today’s game.
After defeat in the Fa Cup against Chelsea and then the home loss to Manchester City on Monday night ending United’s 18-game unbeaten league run, Sir Alex Ferguson would of had stern words with this team ahead of this Sunday’s clash with the Potters but the Reds will want to rediscover that winning form and hope Robin Van Persie can end his goal draught which has seen him...

Two first-half goals from Matthew Etherington against his former club saw Stoke grab all three points by beating in-form Tottenham 2-1 at the Britannia stadium.
A second-half Emmanuel Adebayor penalty that looked to be a way back into the match for Tottenham turned out to be nothing more than a consolation as Stoke produced yet another excellent defensive display.
Stoke started the match extremely brightly and were the better team in the opening exchanges. Brad Friedel was called into action early on, saving brilliantly down low to stop Etherington’s powerful strike.
And it was Etherington who gave Stoke the lead after 13 minutes when some persistent work in the box from Peter Crouch allowed him to tap into an open goal. A number of Stoke’s early chances came as a result of long throws and the opening goal was no different. With Rory Delap on the bench it was...

Giovanni Trapattoni went into this match against Estonia knowing that his future as Republic of Ireland boss hung in the balance but he needn’t have worried as his side ran out comfortable 4-0 winners over nine man Estonia.
Goals from Keith Andrews, Jonathan Walters and a brace from Robbie Keane all but sealed Ireland’s qualification for Euro 2012 as their opponents saw Andrei Stepanov and Raio Piiroja sent off for the home side.
The opening ten minutes were a nervy and uneventful affair with very few chances. A tame shot form Jonathan Walters and a long range deflected effort from Konstantin Vassiljev were the only attempts on goal.
But then, virtually out of nowhere, Aiden McGeady’s inch perfect cross found Andrews who directed his header expertly into the bottom corner past the outstretched Pareiko to give the Irish an early lead (13).
It was an excellent header from Andrews...
