The murder of three-year-old Caylee Anthony continues to make news 15 years after the child’s body was recovered in 2008. Caylee’s mom, Casey, was back in the news in 2022 with the release of the three-part limited series Casey Anthony: Where The Truth Lies which featured interviews with the acquitted accused murderer. In the special, Casey accuses her father of killing Caylee and then staging her death. Casey continues to claim her father molested her and suggested he may also have molested her daughter.
Casey’s parents, George and Cindy, have had enough and are fighting back with their own special, Casey Anthony’s Parents: The Lie Detector Test. The two-hour special is hosted by Emmy Award-winning journalist Tony Harris (CNN Newsroom w/Tony Harris) and will air on A&e and Lifetime on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 9pm Et/Pt. For eight weeks in the summer of 2011, the world was glued to the “social media trial of the century.” Facing the death penalty was Casey Anthony, then 25, accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, and dumping the body in a wooded area near her parents’ home in Orlando, Florida.
The circumstantial evidence against her was compelling — including a 911 call made by her mother in which she described the smell of a decomposing body in Anthony’s car — but Anthony was found not guilty of murdering her daughter.
She was sentenced to four years, one year for each lie she told police; with three years time served, she had only 10 days left in custody before walking free.
No one was more outraged by that turn of events than Nancy Grace, the prosecutor-turned-tv pundit who dubbed Anthony the “Tot Mom” and who covered the case...

The Anthony family is making forgiveness a priority in 2019. In a rare television interview, both George Anthony and Cindy Anthony are sitting down with Dr. Oz to discuss a wide range of topics. One important discussion is whether or not their daughter Casey Anthony has reached out following her dad's near-fatal car crash. "She did reach out to see how I am," George shared in a sneak peek at Monday's all-new Dr. Oz Show. "I would [like to see her]. I mean honestly I would. I would just like to tell her I'm sorry. You know that I forgive her. I forgive her and that's hard for me to say, but you know what, I need to be forgiven by her, my son and other family members or friends that...

Casey Anthony is changing her tune. The 32-year-old — who was famously acquitted of murder in 2011 for the death of her two-year-old daughter, Caylee — now says she wants more children. "For a long time she was like 'no way,'" a source close to Casey told People. "But time has changed that and she's now open to it in a way she hasn't been before." Back in 2017, however, she told the Associated Press she would be "dumb" to bring another child into the world. "If I am blessed enough to have another child — if I'd be dumb enough to bring another kid into this world knowing that there'd be a potential that some little snot-nosed kid would then say something mean to my kid — I don't think I could live with that," she said at the time. It's been 10 years since Caylee Anthony's remains were found in a trash bag near her family's home — but people still have questions surrounding her death, like who is Caylee Anthony's father? While many of the details surrounding Casey Anthony's trial are clouded in mystery, this one is arguably the most intriguing of all. But true crime aficionados aren't the only ones in the dark about Caylee's paternity —and sources close to Casey revealed that not even the people closest to her know. "I don’t know who the father was. She doesn’t talk about it. She will never tell anyone. She’ll take that secret to the grave," an insider revealed to People, and hinted that Casey might not even be sure who was her baby daddy. "If she knows who the father is, she’s not telling." The parents of acquitted murderer Casey Anthony are headed back to court — but this time George and Cindy Anthony are facing a foreclosure lawsuit and may lose the home where their late granddaughter Caylee was last seen alive. The couple tried to mediate with the bank in their hometown in Florida but failed. George and Cindy currently owe $130,000 on the property and are scheduled to appear in front of a judge on August 10, according to court documents obtained by Radar Online. Their home played a crucial role in Casey's murder trial, as her defense attorney Jose Baez claimed the two-year-old drowned in the family's swimming pool and that Casey's father George found the body and helped dispose of it. (Photo Credit: Getty Images) "How in the world can a mother wait 30 days before ever reporting her child missing? That's insane, that's bizarre," Jose said in his opening statements, according to ABC News.

Though Casey Anthony maintains that she doesn't know how her adorable daughter Caylee died, her parents don't seem to buy that story. In a recent interview with Crime Watch Daily, George and Cindy Anthony reveal that they don't trust their daughter at all. "Casey knows what happened to Caylee. I feel that in my heart," George revealed. Casey has claimed that George was with Caylee when she died, and he insists that's a lie. "Do I feel that she took my granddaughter's life? I don't want to believe that, but Casey is the one that can answer that question." Cindy doesn't think that Casey would have straight-up murdered her daughter on purpose, but she still believes their granddaughter's death was her fault. "No, I don't think, I truly, honestly don't think she killed her," said Casey's mom. "I don't know. I don't know if it was an accident or what happened.

Just two months after Casey Anthony spoke out for the first time since her 2011 acquittal, she’s living a more secluded life than ever, multiple sources tell People.
“There were a lot of people who assumed that she’d someday make big money on her first interview,” says a source who worked with her legal team. “And then she gave it away to the Associated Press. So there are all these people who thought that they were going to be part of it when she made the money, and then Casey went behind their backs and gave an interview for free.

On December 11, 2008, a meter reader stepped into the woods near Casey Anthony‘s home. As he looked for a place to relieve himself, he kicked a garbage bag. A skull rolled out.
The discovery ended a five-month-long search for 2-year-old Caylee Anthony, who had been reported missing that July. The details were gruesome: duct tape was stretched over the jaw of the skull. Items from Caylee Anthony’s room, including linens and clothes, were found with her remains.
Authorities combed the area, and soon found dozens of bones belonging to Caylee. Prosecutors charged Casey Anthony in her death and decided to seek the death penalty.
