Los Angeles, watch out! Warner Bros. Pictures is about to unleash some dinosaur action on the streets of L.A. with this new project that the studio just picked up. This untitled pitch was originally developed as a web series, but now, it may see big screen time.
According to Deadline, Warner Bros. Pictures has bought a pitch about “a rapidly evolving species of dinosaurs who attack modern Los Angeles.” The script was written by Mike Bayman and the project will be helmed by John Clisham, who is “a longtime employee at James Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment and who recently worked on the Titanic 3Dconversion.”
This project was originally developed by Break Media, an online network, to be a web series. Warner Bros. Pictures saw early tests of the project and swooped in to pick it up as a feature film. Break Media’s Greg Siegel will serve as executive producer with Scott Nocas.

Dinosaurs may have died out 65 million years ago but mankind's knowledge about them continues to evolve and they remain an endless source of fascination and feature film material.
It's now widely accepted that many had plumage and in January the largest feathered dinosaur known was discovered in China. Yutyrannus huali (pictured above; click for a larger version) measured almost 30ft in length and weighed more than a tonne; it was a close cousin of T.rex but, unlike its famous relative, fossils show it was covered in downy feathers to keep it warm.
If Hollywood is taking note, maybe these latest discoveries will make it into Spielberg's planned Jurassic Park 4 or Barry Sonnenfeld's planned Dominion: Dinosaurs vs Aliens.
But in the meantime, there are other prehistoric-themed projects to sink your teeth into.

If any writers out there are feeling eager to dust off that old studio pitch -- the one you last gained hope in when “Ouija” was announced -- it might just be time for a revival, because today Warner Bros. has added a gallon of kerosene to the argument that they'll take anything nowadays.
Deadline reports WB has purchased a sci-fi pitch about a race of rapidly-evolving dinosaurs attacking Los Angeles, and while the temptation is to imagine a nine-year-old in an oversized suit, pitching his previous night's dream to studio execs in a McDonald's ball pit, the reality is much more sobering: It is actually John Clisham, a senior member of James Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment and recent “Titanic 3D” employee, that developed the pitch and brought it to the studio. Clisham plans to direct a script written by him and co-writer/producer Mike Bayman, and while plot details are scarce,...

If there’s one thing multiplexes don’t have enough of these days, it’s dinosaurs. Really think about this: They’re big, loud, wreak havoc, look cool, and can easily be made into toys. Why did robots take the mantle from them, again?
Fortunately, Deadline reports that Warner Bros. are getting into the pre-historic business with John Clisham, a frequent James Cameron collaborator, who’s directing and co-writing a dino-starring actioner with Mike Bayman. Originally developed as a web series with Break Media, the film revolves around “a rapidly evolving species of dinosaurs who attack modern Los Angeles,” or “a transported version of the ending to The Lost World.” (One that’s [hopefully] less terrible, however.) It’s obviously an inexperienced writing team and director, but a T-Rex eating the Hollywood sign is something you have to work pretty hard to screw up.

Warner Bros. has picked up a sci-fi action pitch from John Clisham, a long-time employee for James Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment. The only directing credits to Clisham's name is for an Avatar short called The Night Before Avatar and for an episode of Assorted Nightmares. So the pic will be the first feature for Clisham who is penning the script with Mike Bayman. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but we do know that the story will revolve around a rapidly evolving species of dinosaurs who attack modern Los Angeles. I know what you're thinking... Yes, dinosaurs were running around Southern California wreaking havoc in Jurassic Park: The Lost World, just a couple hours south in San Diego. It's bad enough we get earthquakes over here in real life, and have been attacked more than a few times by aliens in make-believe land, but dinosaurs... twice?!!! The idea...

Sometimes news comes that has us grinning from ear-to-ear. This is exactly one of those times. The mere thought of dinosaurs tearing up L.A. is truly enough to warrant a wet dream. Maybe even two wet dreams. No, really. Here's hoping they start by taking a shit on the 101.

Warner Bros. is planning to let dinosaurs loose in Los Angeles, Deadline reports. The studio has secured the rights to a feature film project that will have "rapidly evolving" dinos set free in the City of Angels. Set to be the directorial debut of John Clisham (who has long-since worked with James Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment), the untitled project will be written by both Clisham and Mike Bayman, who originally viewed the project as an elaborate web series, making use of groundbreaking special effects to bring the dinosaurs to life.
