In high school, Christopher was a two-time state champion in the pole vault.
He worked summers and holidays for four years at Otter Creek Brewing in Middlebury, Vermont during high school and university. By the time he graduated from university, he had moved up to become second brewer.
Graduated from Wittenberg University with a degree in Spanish.
Speaks Korean, Japanese and Spanish as second languages.
Grew up playing the saxophone and piano.
He has a Master's degree in Education.
Christopher became a shochu sommelier by passing the Japanese certification test (SSI) in 2013.
Christopher is a published author. He wrote the first ever English-language book on Japanese shochu. The book's title is "The Shochu Handbook: an Introduction to Japan's Indigenous Distilled Drink," published in July, 2014.
Christopher is the founder of New York-based Honkaku Spirits, an import company specializing in Japanese spirits such as awamori, shochu, and koji whiskey.
He also co-owns New York Wine Traders, a trading company located in Fukuoka, Japan.
