Rapper Lil Wayne tweeted his disapproval of a wax figure of himself that has been on display at the Hollywood Wax Museum at Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, since last summer.
It shows Wayne’s tattoo-covered chest, a white polka dotted shirt sagging around his arms and red and blue plaid pants.
Wayne saw an image of the statue on the social media app X.
User @rahsh33m posted, “they did Lil Wayne Filthyyyy.”
This image soon went viral.
The rapper reacted by tweeting: “Sorry wax museum but dat s— ain’t me! You tried tho and I appreciate the effort.”
The viral sensation came just one day after Dwayne Johnson responded to the negative comments from fans regarding his own wax figure, which had been unveiled at the Grévin Museum in Paris in early October.

Dinah Jane is the latest member of popular girl group Fifth Harmony to land a solo record deal. The singer has signed with L.A. Reid’s Hitco label, Variety has confirmed. She joins a roster that includes Outkast’s Big Boi and newcomer rappers Skinnyfromthe9 and Yella Beezy.
A new single by Jane is expected in the coming weeks and she has been working with songwriters Priscilla Renae (Fifth Harmony’s “Worth It”), Mozella (Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball”) and Jozzy (Monica’s “Just Right For Me”) in addition to producers Nic Nac, Neff-u, Jr Rotem, and Blessed from A Pop on additional material.
Hitco is distributed through Empire, the independent company which helped propel such hits as D.R.A.M.’s “Broccoli” featuring Lil Yachty, and Fat Joe and Remy Ma’s “All the Way Up.”

Fifth Harmony recently surprised their fans by announcing their official hiatus as a group in order to pursue solo projects. That means Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregui, Normani Kordei and already-gone-solo former member Camila Cabello will be on their own. So who will have the most successful solo career? We asked our readers, and a majority of them (58%) said it would be Cabello. Scroll down to see the complete poll results at the bottom of this post.
To be fair to her former band mates, Cabello had already gone solo, so we don’t need to imagine what her solo career might look like. She left the group in December 2016, and since then she released a number-one single, “Havana” with Young Thug, and a number-one album, “Camila.” So at the moment she’s the benchmark against which the other four members will be compared.

Fifth Harmony may be down to four members, but have no fear -- Normani Kordei isn't going anywhere.
Kordei recently made headlines when she signed with her own manager, causing fans to worry that the group was splitting up. Et spoke with the 21-year-old singer by phone about the 5K she walked with her mom in Santa Monica, California, over the weekend to raise money for the American Cancer Society, and during the chat, she reassured fans that she's not parting ways with 5H. In fact, she actually thought it was funny that people jumped to that conclusion.
"It's funny because so many people were like, '5H is over! Oh my gosh! She's leaving the group.' And I'm just sitting in my bed laughing because so many things can be misconstrued and misread and just taken out of context," she admitted. "I'm like, no, I'm not leaving my group. I would never. It’s been a few weeks since “The Cage Fighter” screened at the 13th Camden International Film Festival and four years since I met Joe Carman, the 40-year-old father and fighter who allowed me to share his story with the world. “The Cage Fighter,” which depicts the lives of a middle-aged man and his family, owes much of its existence to the ongoing support of the team at Points North Institute in Camden, Maine.
Two and a half years ago, we workshopped the film through Points North. Later that year, we returned to pitch at the Points North Pitch Forum (which takes place during the festival). Along the way, we met an array of incredible mentors and filmmakers — some of whom actually joined as key collaborators on our project. Bringing the finished film back to Ciff this year was such an important milestone for our film and me as a filmmaker.

Another great Samuel Fuller film on Blu-ray — this one is a crime tale set in downtown Los Angeles’ Little Tokyo, that forms an interracial romantic triangle. It’s risky for its year because of the sexual dynamics — a Japanese-American man falls in love with a Caucasian woman. Fuller’s approach is years ahead of its time, even if Columbia’s sales job was a little weird.

Samuel Fuller sure knows how to turn up the geopolitical tension, especially in a rip-roaring provocative atom threat adventure, that might have caused problems if anybody cared what movies said back when the Cold War was hot. Richard Widmark skippers a leaky sub to the arctic and discovers that the Chinese communists are going to start WW3 — and blame it on Uncle Sam. It’s an insane comic-book adventure about very serious issues — and we love it.

RedOne might not be the most recognizable name in music - but he's responsible for some of the biggest Top 40 hits of the century. Born Nadir Khayat in Morocco in 1972, RedOne began producing and songwriting music in 1998. By 2006, he scored Billboard hits like Kat DeLuna's summer jam "Whine Up." But it wasn't until he teamed up with Lady Gaga that he became a go-to hitmaker in Hollywood. RedOne co-wrote and produced most of Gaga's earliest hits, from breakouts "Just Dance" and "Poker Face" to "LoveGame." Now 44 and with three Grammys to his name, RedOne has produced hits for everyone in the industry,...

The demand for original television programming is sky-rocketing and doesn’t appear to be coming down any time soon. From the explosion of subscription services like Netflix and Hulu, to websites and brands looking to step into the original content game, to the continued expansion of scripted and unscripted programming on dozens of cable channels, outlets are desperately looking for original content that can stand-out in the abundance of programming now available to consumers.
Out of this demand has emerged a new way for creatives to break into TV: the Dyi pilot. Instead of writing a spec and trying to break into TV the old fashion way, content creators are following the path independent filmmakers and shooting low budget pilots that serve as proofs of concept for a hungry TV industry hoping to find the next “High Maintenance.”

All week long our writers will debate: Which was the greatest film year of the past half century. Click here for a complete list of our essays. How to decide in the grand scheme of things which film year stands above all others? History gives us no clear methodology to unravel this thorny but extremely important question. Is it the year with the highest average score of movies? So a year that averages out to a B + might be the winner over a field strewn with B’s, despite a few A +’s. Or do a few masterpieces lift up a year so far that whatever else happened beyond those three or four films is of no consequence? Both measures are worthy, and the winner by either of those would certainly be a year not to be sneezed at. But I contend the only true measure of a year’s...

LatinoBuzz got to hang with actress/producer Celinés Toribio at the Guadalajara Film Festival in Mexico and we spoke to her about her first feature film as a producer, "María Montez," which is about the life and story of a young precocious girl from Barahona, D.R named María África Gracia Vidal, who later became known as Maria Montez. "Maria Montez" is the first depiction and tribute to the first Dominican actress to ever grace Hollywood's silver screen and whose shine dimmed too soon.
Update: Celines is now shooting "El Rey de la Habana" in the Dominican Republic, her third film in two years under her company Esencia Films.
LatinoBuzz: Why was it important for you to tell the story of María Montez?
Celinés: Because she is a woman from my country and is a courageous Latina like myself. She was also an immigrant to the United States, I cling to role models like her. María Montez risked it all to dare to dream big. She was very persistent when it came to achieving her dreams, she motivated me a lot. Those are the type of women I hope to follow.
LatinoBuzz: Do you see you yourself in María?
Celinés: A lot, she was an actress and was criticized for being a bad actress, like me [Laughs}. But she ignored the criticism and continued with her dreams. There are times when you don't like something and you want to improve it. As you try to improve it gets harder to be criticized, and then you decide to turn a deaf ear. Maria Montez became a good actress, her best film was a French film and it wasn't from within the Hollywood industry. In Hollywood she was more used as a sex symbol in all these escapist films during the second world war. So then, what does Celinés Toribio have of Maria Montez? The courage and the power to ignore criticism.
LatinoBuzz: How difficult was it to obtain financing for a film in the Dominican Republic?
Celinés: It was very difficult, very difficult, because I come from the world of television and in the film industry who would believe in a TV presenter? As extremely difficult as it was, I had to then prove to the world and to my own country - who believed I had a good criterion - that my purpose was to make good films whether they succeeded or failed, that I wanted the best, always seeking perfection. And I will continue trying. It was also really difficult trying to do it in an industry full of men, especially in my country, which is also a country full of ''machos." I'm new, I’m from television, a woman, not rich and without a last name from a wealthy family. Very difficult.
LatinBuzz: But the film was made…
Celinés: We achieved it! (Sighs) There are so many people to whom I'll be grateful for my whole life, there were all my sponsors: Orange Cinema, El Ministerio de Cultura, Universal de Seguros, the tourism department, La Sirena – they’re big companies in my country. All these huge companies that believed in Celinés Toribio. When I went with a Power Point presentation under my arm, by myself, to sit down in an office, and when the movie was only in my mind - these people believed in me.
LatinoBuzz: Is there any other historical figure from the Dominican Republic you think deserves a biopic?
Celines: Yes! All the men and women who built our country, who have created the history of our country. Our Dominican founding fathers Duarte, Sánchez and Mella. Casandra Damirón, a great dancer and singer whom was also very stereotyped in her time. Dr. Joaquín Balaguer, a former president the same as Trujillo. Our beloved Porfirio Rubirosa who was an iconic figure representing what it really means to be a man. Since he was so clever he could put the most important women in the world in his pocket. We have a rich history, good and bad. Stories and movies are not to pass judgment on a human being or portray only what was positive in history. They are meant to include everyone and everything, good or bad.
LatinoBuzz: How did you choose your cast and crew?
Celines: It was not a decision made by myself, it was also made with the director Vicente Peñarrocha and the producer Teresa Fernández Cuesta, who recommended Ginés García Millán - a great actor from Spain who was in the "Isabel" TV series and many other films and plays. Then the director recommended Ben Temple, an actor who had previously worked with Vicente. I think he is the best actor of the film. (Laughs)
LatinoBuzz: What were the challenges during the actual shoot?
Celines: 19 days to shoot a film, 18 hours a day - any challenges? One main challenge was that our camera wasn't a typical film camera. Anyone who sees the film says the photography is very nice, it was a c300 camera. Today the best cameras are the Red One's, the Alexa's, but we didn't have the budget for that. We did have a steadicam, which was constantly breaking. We had to fix it constantly. There were even scenes in which the steadicam was supposed to stay smooth but because it was broken it was shaky, not because of the operator but because of the equipment. We faced many challenges including mosquitoes and heat. We went to a desert since we have some dunes in the Dominican Republic and everyone was preparing to shoot in the desert. They said “Drink plenty of water!” “Stay hydrated!” “Bring a Nurse!” ”We must have an ambulance on stand by!” So, everyone was preparing for this sandstorm that was supposed to come, and in the end nothing happened, it was the best day! (Laughs)
LatinoBuzz: What is the current state of the Dominican Republic’s film industry?
Celines: It is in a Renaissance, this is the rebirth of Dominican film. Why? Because we have more education in film, we have more companies prepared to shoot 3 or 4 films simultaneously and tax incentives. With that we already have the new age of Dominican cinema. "María Montez" is part of that new era.
LatinoBuzz: What projects are coming up next for you?
Celines: We just shot a children’s film, today independent films in Latin America do not express much interest in films for children. We finished one called "Los Fabulosos Ma' Mejores," about a Dominican kid who is really bad at baseball but when he goes to a Dominican Little League Baseball Tournament wins the championship. So that's the next project and then "Maria Montez's" director Vicente Peñarrocha and I are working on a romantic comedy. In the Dominican Republic the most successful genre is comedy, but in Esencia Films we are committed to all genres including dramas and romantic comedies. So let’s see how this goes for us. We are also working on the story of Porfirio Rubirosa and I have several projects I'm developing at the same time.
LatinoBuzz: Celines Toribio in 10 years?
Celines: I see myself as a “Dominican Salma Hayek," who has her production house, who negotiates with ABC, with CBS, who secures good collaborations with TV netowoks and Major North American production houses or from Spain, Colombia. I see myself that way.

Nicki Minaj has found herself in some hot water over her 2012 smash hit "Starships," as an electro musician is taking the rapper to court with claims of copyright infringement.
Reclusive musician Clive Tanaka alleges that Minaj used portions of his 2011 song "Neu Chicago" in "Starships," prompting him to file suit against the former "American Idol" host at U.S. District Court in Chicago on Tuesday (Sept. 10). The Chicago Tribune reports that Tanaka's copyright infringement lawsuit also names the song's producer RedOne, as well as three other writers.
Before filing suit, Tanaka posted a mash-up of the two songs online on SoundCloud so fans could hear the alleged similarities for themselves. His lawyer, Christopher Niro, says, "We believe they are similar to the point that it is nearly impossible for it to be a coincidence."
In his court documents, Tanaka insists that "Neu Chicago" received substantial airplay in both the U.

Jennifer Lopez combines with Pitbull for a generic, Redone-produced single, for promotion around "American Idol" and the summer-bound months: "On the Floor." According to Lopez, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, and thus a new song is born. "Live It Up" by Jennifer Lopez, featuring Pitbull, dropped today in a haze of deja vu. "On the Floor" made it to No. 3 on The Hot 100 last year, but just where does "Live It Up" think it's going? Back to it's origins. Literally. "We don't believe in defeat / that's why we're back for a three-peat," Pitbull raps, referring to "Floor" and "Dance...

American Idol’s Mariah Carey is one unhappy diva because of the drama between her and fellow judge Nicki Minaj, according to Carey’s husband Nick Cannon. “She didn’t sign up for that,” he said today to La’s Ktla-tv morning show host Sam Rubin (video below). On air, Cannon accused “someone behind the scenes perpetuating” the conflict. Once the camera was off, Cannon blamed Fox Alternative Entertainment chief Mike Darnell for bringing Minaj onto the show. “No one thought it was a good idea then and no one thinks it is a good idea now,” Cannon said. New York -- Despite having a big year in music, Nicki Minaj didn't receive any Grammy nominations. Not a problem, she says.
"I've gotten tons of awards and I believe when it's my time to get a Grammy, I'll get a Grammy," she said with a laugh.
The 30-year-old had one of last year's biggest hits with the multiplatinum dance-pop anthem "Starships." Her sophomore album, "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded," has reached gold status and launched other hits on the rap and R&B charts.
But Minaj, who received three Grammy nominations last year, including best new artist and best rap album for her platinum debut, "Pink Friday," was shut out when this year's nominations were announced.
"I think that the Grammys had a different reason, that I do not want to discuss ... and that's just between me and them," she said in a recent interview. "But I respect their organization...

It appears U2 hope to inject some youthfulness into their new album with the help of the writing team behind recent UK boy band sensation (and Saturday's “SNL” performers) One Direction.
The Sun is reporting that Bono and the U2 crew have recruited Swedish pop songwriter Carl Falk – the man responsible for many of One Direction’s hits – to collaborate with them on their upcoming thirteenth album.
Apparently, Bono wasn’t thrilled with the lukewarm reception of their last album – 2009’s No Line on the Horizon – and is eager to write some new hits so the band can “survive.” The frontman didn’t think their last album produced enough hit singles, but we think they'll be alright.
U2 have the right team in mind to reinvigorate their sound with One Direction being the first ever UK group to debut at number one with their first album in the United States.

British boy band One Direction dropped their album, Up All Night, here in the States Tuesday (March 13). They had already topped the charts back in their native U.K., and if the ensuing stateside buzz tells us anything, it's that the group may see even more chart-topping love Stateside.
The album, which features some A-list production and songwriting help from RedOne, Kelly Clarkson, fellow boy bander Tom Fletcher of McFly fame and songwriter Toby Gad, has gained the guys so much attention in the U.S. that they've already booked some big-time gigs in the wake of the release. While Miley Cyrus isn't the first person to come to mind when making a wishlist of artists to cover Bob Dylan songs, we have to admit -- we're really looking forward to this album.
Miley and a host of her contemporaries have joined forces to pay tribute to both Bob Dylan and Amnesty International with a new cover album. The record, titled "Chimes of Freedom," features a huge variety of artists -- from Pete Seeger to Ke$ha.
"Glee" star Darren Criss even makes a contribution to the four-disc compilation, covering New Morning with his brother, Chuck Criss, and his band the Freelance Whales. The jam-packed album, which "salutes Amnesty International's 50th anniversary and life-saving human rights work," is set for a January 24 release. We already knew Nicole Scherzinger could dance, she won Dancing With The Stars last year after all, but we were still massively impressed with her smooth moves when she took to the So You Think You Can Dance stage this week.
The new X Factor judge was performing her recent single ‘Right There’ on on the Top 12 results show and obviously wanted to showcase her own moves for the finalists. The choreography was fast paced and energetic and yet, just added to her vocal performance.
In America, Right There was the lead single from Nicole’s studio album, Killer Love. The album is set for it’s Us release on August 16, and so a performance on Sytycd was the perfect opportunity for a bit of promotion.
‘Right There,’ features 50 Cent and got it’s première on ‘American Idol’ on May 19.
In the UK, Nicole has already released two singles from ‘Killer Love.

Savan Kotecha has likened Cher Lloyd's debut album to that of Black Eyed Peas star Fergie's first solo record. We are thick into tourist season here in Miami and as anyone else who's lived in an area that's popular to travel to can attest, it's a love/hate relationship. More the hate, most days. I've heard that Miami has a bad reputation among tourists because people are scared they'll get killed here and all I have to say to that is that it's not too likely if you're paying attention, don't go poking around in shady areas looking for "where the locals hang," and stay the hell out of the left lane if you're sightseeing while driving. Oh, also, Cuban coffee is not Starbucks coffee. If you usually get a venti triple shot whatever, you should still start with just the one weensy cup of café cubano. Trust me. Cher Lloyd is on the move to secure A-list collaborators for her upcoming debut album. Just recently, the outcast of "The X Factor" is spotted meeting Lil Wayne in a studio. She excitedly tweeted, "Had an amazin meet with lil wayne last night, the guys a genius!"
Days before, the 17-year-old singer was pictured having a lunch with RedOne, the same man who is responsible for some of Lady GaGa's hit singles. A few days prior, she also hooked up with will.i.am to lay down their duet track.
The Black Eyed Peas member has repeatedly praised Cher for having the talent to be the next big thing in music game after they performed together on the live stage of the "X Factor". He even wanted to sign her to his record label, but the one who won the bidding war reportedly was Jay-z.

Nicole Scherzinger will not be held back. The Pussycat Dolls singer is rebounding from the 2007-2008 failure to launch of her perpetually delayed solo debut, Her Name Is Nicole, by wrapping up work on a new breakaway effort.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the as-yet-untitled disc was produced by Lady Gaga compatriot RedOne and features collaborations with Jay Sean and Ne-Yo. She's already debuted the slinky Joseph Kahn-directed video for the first single, the Euro-trancey "Poison," in which she sports a skintight ninja outfit as she dance-fights with baddies.
After winning "Dancing With the Stars" in the spring, Scherzinger promised to get a Pussycat Dolls album, with the group's new lineup, out by the end of the year, but it now seems like her solo disc will drop first.

Lady GaGa has been showered by praise from her producer RedOne. Talking about the eccentric dance singer's upcoming new album, the Moroccan/Swedish master mixer, who worked on her hits such as "Just Dance", "Poker Face", "Bad Romance" and "Alejandro", assures that it will be something people will not expect coming.
RedOne, whose real name is Nadir Khayat, told Billboard, "It's going to be shocking, shocking,
shocking!" He later added, "You never want to go too far from your brand - people love you for a reason. But we still want to give them something with a kick, something that makes them say, 'Oh my God! We didn't expect this!' "
He further explained that his collaborations with GaGa were about evolution. "When you heard 'Bad Romance' after 'Poker Face', it was like the best thing you've ever heard. We want that type of reaction. I think that's part of...

Hot on the heels of Lady Gaga's confident pronouncement that her upcoming album is the "absolute greatest work I've ever done," "utter liberation" and an "anthem for my generation for the next decade" comes echoing praise from a reliable — if slightly biased — source: her producer RedOne.

Lady GaGa's producer pal RedOne is launching his own label after signing a new deal with Universal Records. The "Poker Face" hitmaker, who scooped a Grammy Award for his work on the dance track, has founded 2102 and has already added up-and-coming artist Mohombi to his roster.
And RedOne, real name Nadir Khayat, is confident the Swedish/Congolese singer will blow fans away. He tells the BBC, "Everyone's going to go crazy about him. It's a rhythmic, global sound. Good melodies, good lyrics, good hooks."
"I first heard about him 10 years ago - we were both in Sweden at the same time, but I never met him until we were in America. He came into the studio and he had a CD with him - and it blew me away."
RedOne has also produced songs for Akon, Enrique Iglesias and Mika.

In the wake of Nicole Scherzinger's big (if not terribly surprising) win on "Dancing With the Stars," fans of the Pussycat Doll are wondering what she'll be up to next. First, we imagine, she might want to get some sleep after the whirlwind press tour, then it looks like she'll be getting back to work with her girls.
The new lineup for the Pussycat Dolls was announced just last week, and the next big step for the group seems to be a new album. Scherzinger said that she's been thinking long and hard about what that album will sound like.

John Fogerty is a singer/songwriter with hundreds of songs in his catalogue. Many of those songs are hit records, from his work with Creedence Clearwater Revival to his solo work. His music is played throughout the world on radio, sold in stores and online. He has sold millions of albums and has earned his place in the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame. RedOne (Nadir Khayat) was born in Morocco and in 2001 worked in Sweden as a producer of the teen-pop sensations the A*Teens. In 2006 he wrote the song "Bamboo" and it became theme music for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. But in 2008 he would break in to the Pop/Dance world in a big way with Lady GaGa. RedOne's success is on a different level than Fogerty's yet they are equal in the eyes of an organization that is...
