Michin is one step closer to making history as she defeated Tatum Paxley in a Women’s Nxt North American Championship Qualifying Match. Before the bell could even ring, both Superstars battled it out as Paxley tried to grab the newly unveiled title from the grasp of rapper Sexyy Red, and Michin didn’t take kindly to the disrespect. Michin looked as impressive as ever as she hit a huge dive to the outside as well as a devastating pounce, but the resilient Paxley absorbed every big shot and came just seconds away from winning the match herself. Ruca looked to use her aerial attack but took a hard fall to the outside before Dame chucked her onto the announce table. Match #1: Wes Lee def. Josh Briggs The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The King of the West Side is back in Nxt as Wes Lee made his triumphant return to action against the big and bad Josh Briggs. Lee didn’t miss a beat in his return using his athleticism and his speed to disorient the much bigger Briggs, but he still took a couple of major hits from his bruising opponent. Briggs focused his attention on Lee’s back while Ivar made his way to commentary, but Lee dug deep and refused to give in. The former dominant North American Champion finally regained control before hitting a corkscrew moonsault and earning the win in his return.

Netflix has only been in the feature film business for about a year, and yet the company has struck gold again, with its acquisition of the French animated film The Little Prince. The movie – based on the seminal 1943 novella by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry – was initially set for a theatrical release back in March, thanks to a distribution deal with Paramount. However, that plan was ultimately dropped for unknown reasons, and Netflix was able to scoop up what has since become the most successful French animated film in cinema history, due to its box office receipts from across the globe. Now it’s available on the streaming service, and viewers can check out the “Netflix original” from the comfort of their own homes.
Yet, with all the hubbub surrounding the film’s release, the question remains if director Mark Osborne (Kung Fu Panda) has crafted a movie worthy of the cherished source material,...

In the dedication of his immensely beloved 1943 novella, “The Little Prince,” author and aristocrat (and aviator) Antoine de Saint-Exupéry made a passing remark that succinctly captured the soul of his story: “All grown-ups were children first (but few of them remember it).” While the unique locations and landscapes of Saint Exupéry’s tale might seem to resist adaptation — this is, after all, a narrative that splits its time between the Sahara Desert and a galaxy of tiny asteroids suspended in the stars — there’s a good reason why it’s been reimagined as everything from an opera, to a ballet, a stage play, an anime, a pop-up book, a graphic novel, a television series and a rather terrible live-action film by “Singin’ in the Rain” director Stanley Donen. Despite a multitude of logistical hurdles, the fundamental essence of “The Little Prince” is so pure that the narrative has proven capable...

Mark Osborne has taken on Kung fu-fighting pandas, a beloved French tale of a prince from a tiny planet, and a sponge that lives in a pineapple under the sea. Next up, the New Jersey-born animation director is looking to bring a comic book series from panel to screen, though he wouldn’t yet reveal which one. “I’m in talks about doing another adaptation,” Osborne told me yesterday while we were discussing his Little Prince film. “I will say it’s an iconic comic book series but not [about] a superhero. It’s an independent comic series.” He revealed that it would be an animated film adaptation but wouldn’t say much more about the project. Osborne has retweeted a couple tweets lately about Bone, Jeff Smith’s awards-showered series that’s getting its first new storyline in 10 years in the new Bone: Coda. Could this be what Osborne’s working on?...

The Little Prince, the film adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s popular novella, opened in international theaters last year and was originally scheduled to be released today in the U.S. by Paramount Pictures. But not long ago, the studio quietly dropped the film from its release calendar, leaving many wondering if we'd ever have a chance to see it at all. Thankfully, Netflix has swooped in and picked up the rights to the film, and the streaming service plans to release it sometime later this year (though it remains unclear whether the streaming release will also play in some theaters, ala Beasts of No Nation).

Surprising news out of Paramount today after it was revealed that the studio has now pulled the theatrical release of The Little Prince at the 11th hour. Mark Osborne’s stop-motion animation had been pegged for a release today, March 18.
In its place, the long-awaited feature has found a new home at Netflix, with the online giant poised to drop The Little Prince later in 2016. Taking inspiration from Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s beloved 1943 novel – it’s considered a loose adaptation – Osborne’s directorial effort features a combination of stop-motion animation and CGI effects, and began to make waves shortly after its premiere at Cannes International Film Festival last year, where it screened out of competition.
It’s a case of ‘so close, yet so far’ for The Little Prince, though considering that its pulled in close to $100 million since its bow in other territories – not to mention the small matter...

I've somehow never even heard of The Little Prince before, but this new trailer for Paramount Pictures' upcoming film adaptation makes me want to read the book immediately. It looks like an enchanting, magical story that could easily end up being one of the best films of the year. The blending of animation styles looks wonderful, and it appears to have all of the heart and emotion normally only found in Pixar movies. If I had to guess right now based only on what I've seen so far, I'd say I'm going to like this film better than Pixar's 2016 movie Finding Dory.

It is a sad fact that the approaching release of the animated film The Little Prince seems more poignant than ever in light of recent events – based, as it is, on the classic French novella of the same name, by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. He wrote the beloved tale in 1943, when France was under siege from the oppressive Nazi regime, which sought to control and destroy the distinctive way of life of that country, and many others. While this adaptation – written by Irena Brignull (The Boxtrolls) is an updated version of the story, it clearly captures the essence of the novella’s message about peace, individuality and creativity, as we can see from the new trailer.

A new trailer for the animated big screen adaptation of The Little Prince has been released, and I couldn't be more excited to see this movie. I'm a fan of the 1943 book written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, and after seeing how well Charlie Brown was handled in The Peanuts Movie, I think there's a good chance that this could be just as great a film. I love the style of this movie, it looks like it stays true to the spirit of the story, and it simply looks magical and charming.

While Kung Fu Panda will get yet another iteration earlier next year, a few months later, the director of the original film, Mark Osborne, will premiere a far more intriguing animation here in the United States. The Little Prince is based on Antoine de Saint-Exupéry‘s famous 1943 novel and adapted by The Boxtrolls‘ Irena Brignull, and today brings a new trailer.
The story follows a pilot who lands in the desert, but that’s seemingly only one aspect of the tale. The latest adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s novella The Little Prince hails from King Fu Panda helmer Mark Osborne, who takes a few liberties with the popular source material for his vision. But to be frank, with trailers this captivating and visually adventurous, it’s unlikely anyone will have cause for complaint.
The Little Prince tells the story of an Aviator whose plane crashes in the desert, which is where he meets the titular prince from an asteroid-sized planet whose day trip to Earth is part of his exploration of the galaxy. One of those aforementioned changes tying together the movie is a wraparound story that’s made apparent in this new preview. Featuring a young girl and her next-door neighbor, it’s a slight adjustment that shouldn’t sully the gloriousness of the stop-motion animation on display.

A new international trailer for "The Little Prince" takes viewers on a fantastical voyage, offering breathtaking visuals and evoking lots of heartstring tugging along the way.
The flick is the first feature-length, animated adaptation of the classic French novella, "Le Petit Prince," by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, and boasts a stellar voice cast that includes Jeff Bridges, Rachel McAdams, James Franco, Marion Cotillard, and Benicio Del Toro.
The full synopsis, per Variety:
The multilayered animated tale centers around a little girl (Mackenzie Foy) who lives with her mother (McAdams) and gets initiated by her eccentric yet kind-hearted neighbor, the Aviator (Bridges), into a magical world where anything is possible - a world that the Aviator himself was initiated into long ago by the Little Prince (played by newcomer Riley Osborne).
That "multilayered" descriptor also applies to the film's animation itself, which is a mix of different media, including computer animation and intricate,...

We have a wonderful new international trailer for the animated feature film adaptation of The Little Prince. It's based on the book by the French aristocrat, writer, poet, and pioneering aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
The movie was directed by Kung Fu Panda helmer Mark Osborne, who used a mix of CG and stop-motion animation to bring the story to life. As you'll see in the trailer, it looks amazing. Since the book that the film is based on is really short they had to stretch it out, so they made some additions.
The movie centers around the story of a young girl with an overachieving mother whose new next door neighbor is an old aviator. He recounts to her his tale of crashing in a desert and meeting a boy from a distant planet.

Mon dieu! The international trailer for "The Little Prince" has landed, and it is just lovely. Sure, it's completely in French, but if you remember the book, you can get the gist of it from watching. Or, you can just enjoy the dazzling animation that brings to life the beloved story by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
Plus, thanks to Vulture, you don't even need to fire up Google Translate if your French is a little rusty.
Old man: Oh, oh! I'm here! Up here! [He waves.] Good evening!
Little girl: [Reading] Once upon a time, a little prince who needed a friend?
Old man: I've flown almost everywhere in the world, until something miraculous happened.
Little Prince: Please, draw me a sheep.
Old man: I've always wanted to find someone to share my story with, but I think this world has become too grown-up ... It's only the beginning of the story!

An international trailer has been released for the big screen adaptation of The Little Prince. The film is based on the book by the French aristocrat, writer, poet and pioneering aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The film was made with a mix of CG and stop-motion animation.
The trailer is completely in French, but it does give us our first look at what we can expect to see in the movie. Since the book is so short, the filmmakers took creative liberties to add a few things to stretch it out into a feature length film. Basically they set the story in a new narrative with the use of a little girl who discovers the Prince's adventures with the stranded pilot/author from the story. I do have to say that the film looks absolutely beautiful.

Unfortunately you won't hear any of them in this particular trailer, because it's in French! The Little Prince has always been one of my favourite stories, but the slim novella hardly warrants a full-length animated feature. With that in mind, they've added a framing story of a little girl discovering the Prince's earthly adventures with, we assume, the stranded pilot/author as we do in the movie. The Little Prince stars Riley Osborne as the Prince, Marion Cotillard as The Rose, Rachel McAdams as The Mother, James Franco as The Fox, Jeff Bridges as The Aviator, Benicio del Toro as The Snake, Ricky Gervais as The Conceited Man, Paul Giamatti as The Teacher, Albert Brooks as Businessman, Bud Cort as The King, and Mackenzie Foy as The Girl. The film is set for release in France on October 7th, 2015. No Us/UK date has been announced yet.
