What is Christina Aguilera feeling emancipated from? you may ask, digging into “Liberation,” her first album in close to six years. One track offers some tantalizing clues. “I ain’t built for no fake shit,” she wails, almost gutturally, over rock guitars and faux crowd noise produced by Anderson .Paak. “It’s good pay,” she additionally points out, but “I can’t move with these chains on me / I had to get free. … This ain’t a game to me.” The song title: “Sick of Sittin’.” Now, if it were any other star expressing an animus toward chairs, we might think she was speaking figuratively. But it doesn’t take much reading between the lines to divine that this openly disenchanted ex-“Voice” jurist really has written one of the few breakup songs ever to celebrate splitting up with a TV show.

This morning Christina Aguilera announced the forthcoming release of her sixth studio album “Liberation,” her first in five years, which will be out on June 15 on RCA Records. She also dropped the first single from the album, “Accelerate,” which features Ty Dolla $ign and 2 Chainz, along with a music video directed by Zoey Grossman.
The song was produced by Kanye West, Che Pope and Mike Dean, a rep for the singer confirmed to Variety, although the production credits are not mentioned in the official announcement (possibly due to West’s recent comments). West also produced a song on the album called “Maria”; Anderson.Paak produced two others. A duet with Demi Lovato called “Fall in Line” was co-written by Julia Michaels.
“Accelerate” has a stripped-down, drum-heavy hip-hop production reminiscent at times of the sound on West’s 2013 album “Yeezy”; the video, which recalls Aguilera’s sexed-up “Stripped” era of around 15 years ago,...

Kanye West performed a new song "All Day" during the Brit Awards last week, and today the studio version finally arrived. Some essential* thoughts: 1. Does the voice box melody at the beginning not remind you of everybody's favorite jock jam, Zombie Nation's "Kernkraft 400?" 2.
