A graduate of the Philadelphia College of Art (now University of the Arts), he started out as a rock musician; in 1967 with Todd Rundgren he formed the band Nazz and played bass before heading west to Hollywood to be a graphic artist. Starting at Walt Disney Enterprises in 1970 illustrating Mickey Mouse comic books, by 1974 he was a staff comic strip artist, and six years later was manager for Creative Services for Disney Consumer Products. He retired in 2000 as Vice President, International Creative Development for the Disney Publishing Group.
