Haroldo Guimarães(I)

Haroldo Guimarães Neto, designer, animator and animation producer, is a
California Institute of the Arts graduate, school of most contemporary
animation artists.
Former Architecture student, worked at Mauricio de Sousa Studios and won a scholarship from CAPES/Fulbright to study at CalArts in Valencia, California. Haroldo studied under Disney veterans Hal Ambro , Bob McCrea, Ray Aragon and contemporaries Glen Keane, Mike Giaimo, and Dan Hansen.
After graduation as a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1987, worked with Lee Mishkin, Fred Wolf (Ninja Turtles), Brad Bird (Family Dog - Amazing stories) and Don Bluth (An American Tail). Later joined the Walt Disney Studios where he participated in the Feature films "Oliver and Company" - 1987 and "The Little Mermaid" - 1988.
Back to Brazil in 1989, Haroldo founded HGN Productions and began production of 8 TV series including Disney's Gummi Bears, Bonkers, Goof Troop and Aladdin. One of the episodes of the Aladdin series produced in Brazil was released on video by Walt Disney Home Video. In 2007 HGN produced part of the short film "Goofy - How to Hook Up Your Home Theater" and in 2009 Haroldo directed the participation of HGN in the Disney Feature Film "The Princess and the Frog."
Besides the Disney productions, Haroldo directed, animated and produced several works for the domestic market including TV commercials, specials, institutional videos and TV series
