The U.K. premiere of “Good Luck To You, Leo Grande,” directed by Sophie Hyde, will open this year’s Sundance London (June 9-12), with lead actors Emma Thompson and Daryl McCormack in attendance. The festival will close with the U.K. premiere screening of Jim Archer’s “Brian and Charles,” starring actor and comedian David Earl.
In all, the festival will host several features chosen from the larger U.S. Sundance Film Festival. These include Adamma Ebo’s “Honk For Jesus. Sebastien Raybaud’s production, finance and sales house Anton has picked up worldwide sales rights to music documentary “Laurent Garnier: Off the Record,” and is presenting the project to buyers at the American Film Market.
The documentary looks at the life of one of the godfathers of house music, the pioneering DJ Laurent Garnier, from his emergence on the music scene in the 1980s to the present day, and follows him on his 2018-2019 global tour.
The film, currently in post-production, is directed by Gabin Rivoire (“Violence With Benefits”), with whom Garnier collaborates on the Yeah! Festival. Featuristic Films’ Julien Loeffler produced the project with associate producers James Kermack and Fabrice Smadja.
Anton’s Charlotte van Weede and Juliette Fourniez will handle U.S. and international sales.
Raybaud said: “The impact that electronic music has had on millions of people throughout the world is remarkable. Laurent Garnier has been one of its biggest ambassadors.

Sarah Dillon has been appointed development manager at the Wrap Fund, a major new initiative to support production industry in and attract projects to the West of Ireland.
Ms Dillon will take up the new role following ten years working as Production and Development Executive at the Irish Film Board, where she worked across various documentary, feature and animation projects.
The Western Region Audiovisual Producer’s Fund - or Wrap Fund - was launched in November 2017 at the FÍS TV Summit in Galway City.

The division will aim to produce and fully finance six to eight films annually to complement its slate of acquired product.

Just about one year from his initial start date with the company — and just a few weeks ahead of Berlin — Entertainment One Films International President, Harold van Lier, is leaving. Formerly Studiocanal Evp of International Distribution, Van Lier joined eOne with much fanfare in January of 2014 and was armed with a $100M acquisitions fund. According to the company, the division’s new integrated financing structure will see it “secure worldwide rights on a series of premium commercial films in the coming years” and “offer producers a substantial investment in their films.”
eOne also recently negotiated production financing from City National Bank and OneWest Bank for projects into which eOne Films International significantly invests.

Van Lier will join from StudioCanal, which has today internally promoted Anna Marsh to head of international films sales.
Based in London, van Lier will commute between eOne’s London, Toronto and Los Angeles offices. He reports to Patrice Théroux, chairman of eOne’s global film group.
eOne head of sales Charlotte van Weede and international evp Charlotte Mickie will report to van Lier.
Van Lier was previously evp of international distribution at StudioCanal.
