David L. Simon is a uniquely accomplished executive with a vast
entertainment and media career in the U.S. and around the globe. He is
recognized for his distinctive team building management style, a result
of his hands-on experience in content development, production,
marketing, distribution and finance for the industry's most prestigious
corporate brands. His experience with entertainment leaders such as
Barry Diller, Michael Eisner, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Rupert Murdoch and
Steven Spielberg had a profound affect on his career. He served as
program director at several major market television stations until he
was appointed Vice President of Programming and Production for the
start-up Fox Television Stations. The Walt Disney Company recruited
Simon to establish and run its first international television
production company based in London. Returning to the U.S. in 1997 as
Head of DreamWorks Television Animation Studio, he was responsible for
the development and production of original television animation. In
2000 he formed Simon Bros. Media to lend his knowledge and proficiency
in identifying opportunities for multi-platform development and
production. He served two terms on the board of directors of the
British Academy of Film and Television Arts, Los Angeles and was
co-chair of its Television committee. He served on the executive
committee and board of governors at the Academy of Television Arts and
Sciences as well as president of the National Association of Television
Program Executives. He currently serves on the board of directors of
the San Francisco State University Foundation. Simon devotes
significant amount of personal time as a mentor.
