The documentary starts with a brief account of how a boy from a village in Tibet is discovered as the 13th Dalai Lama and brought to Lhasa. The boy holds a secret. And it is this revelation that slowly sinks in as you watch the three decades of footage unfold.

Spanish-based J.J. Palomo is the director behind the following three-minute short film/trailer, Keloid, which reaffirms our belief that Hollywood needs to give this man a feature film project…Now. The short teaser, which was produced by Palomo and his six-man visual FX shop Blr VFX for over a year, gives us a fantastic peek at a slick man-vs-machine disaster movie that’s already being looked at as a potential feature-length film.
The short uses an impressive combination of both practical and CGI effects to give us a haunting vision of a world where armies of robot machine gunners wage war against an army of armor-clad humans in urban streets and wets our appetite for more. The concept art for the project was provided by Aaron Beck, the same concept designer behind such films as Avatar and District 9, and present a range of menacing (and sometimes creepy-looking) machines...

Neill Blomkamp's futuristic world of Elysium almost included sex robots, but they never made it in the film. Why? Probably because they are disturbing looking. Here's a collection of new concept art from Weta artist Aaron Beck that he posted on his blog. On top of the sex-bots, there is also concept art for military robots and various other designs with descriptive names like "Stompy McStompStomp" and "Fuck You Up Bot." Make sure to head on over to Beck's blog for even more concept art.

Concept Art by Ben Mauro Concept Art by Aaron Beck In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. The people of Earth are desperate to escape the planet's crime and poverty, and they critically need the state-of-the-art medical care available on Elysium - but some in Elysium will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve their citizens' luxurious lifestyle. The only man with the chance bring equality to these worlds is Max (Matt Damon), an ordinary guy in desperate need to get to Elysium. With his life hanging in the balance, he reluctantly takes on a dangerous mission - one that pits him against Elysium's Secretary Delacourt (Jodie Foster) and her hard-line forces - but if he succeeds, he could save not only his own life,...

Keloid Short Film Trailer. The Keloid short film trailer is produced by Big Lazy Robot, Gene Vengerov-Markmann, Aaron Beck, Amon Tobin, and Greg Broadmore. Keloid‘s plot synopsis: “Eliezer S. Yudkowsky* wrote about an experiment which had to do with Artificial Intelligence. In a near future, man will have given birth to machines that are able to rewrite their codes, to improve themselves, and, why not, to dispense with them. This idea sounded a little bit distant to some critic voices, so an experiment was to be done: keep the AI sealed in a box from which it could not get out except by one mean: convincing a human guardian to let it out.
What if, as Yudkowsky states, ‘Humans are not secure’? Could we chess match our best creation to grant our own survival? Would man be humble enough to accept he was superseded, to look for primitive ways to find himself back,...

You've probably never heard of K3loid, a new short movie about humans hunting for a rogue artificial intelligence . but the list of people involved with this project is pretty amazing. Including mecha suits designed by Aaron Beck and Weta's Greg Broadmore. And music remixed by Amon Tobin. The actual storyline looks pretty creepy, judging from this brief trailer.
