Need to catch up? Check out last week’s Outlander recap for Season 2, Episode 11, “Vengeance Is Mine.”
What do you get for the couple who has… nothing, really?
Sure, a wedding registry is the least of concerns when it comes to the hastily arranged nuptials that take place in this week’s Outlander. But c’mon: I’m sure Black Jack Randall and Mary Hawkins could use something to mark the beginning of their terrible new union. How about a deviled egg plate? Or a stand mixer? Maybe some fluffy new towels with which to dry their tears?

He's baa-aack… Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies) has returned to Outlander, and he brought with him a whole bunch of new complications. Jamie, of course, wants to kill the man who raped and tortured him for days on end, and is understandably delighted at the process of doing so. Claire, on the other hand, is determined to keep both her husbands alive and existing, and for Frank to exist, Randall just can't die until he has a kid to continue his line. That also plays into another upsetting part of tonight's episode, which involves poor Mary Hawkins. Now that, according to society at the time, her reputation has been ruined forever after she was raped, she hopes to be free to marry Alex...

We're still recovering from Mary Hawkins' (Rosie Day) traumatic rape from last week's episode of Outlander – and apparently we're not the only ones.
In an exclusive sneak peek from Saturday's upcoming episode of the hit Starz series, Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix) continues to blame himself for the mysterious brigands' attack on Mary and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) that left him knocked out cold while masked men assaulted the two Englishwomen.
"I failed you," a despondent Murtagh tells Jamie (Sam Heughan). "You put your trust in me, your wife and your child to guard … and that wee English lassie.

Poor, poor Mary Hawkins. In tonight's episode of Outlander, Claire (Caitriona Balfe) finally realized why Louise's young friend's name is so familiar to her, and it was not a happy realization. In 1746, Mary (Rosie Day) would marry Jack Randall, and would continue the Randall family line that eventually leads to Frank. As if that fate weren't sad enough, Claire connected the dots just after learning that Mary didn't even understand what sex was or why anyone would ever partake in such an activity. While the idea of this future/past/present marriage is truly disturbing, Claire had to put it out of her mind for most of the episode as she struggled with whether or not to tell Jamie (Sam Heughan) that...

Though their circumstances, carnal endurance and cheekbones suggest otherwise, Outlander‘s Jamie and Claire are, in fact, only human. Isn’t it nice to see, as we do in this week’s episode, that a bit of stress and a lack of sleep make them as susceptible to the same everyday bitchery as the rest of us?
Perhaps my current situation makes me a little sensitive to this kind of thing: Having a 1-year-old daughter offers me many gifts, but an overabundance of patience is not one of them, and my by-all-measures-amazing husband sometimes becomes the unintended target of my exhaustion.

That’s really the only acceptable response to this week’s Outlander, unless your vocabulary and/or heritage means you’ve got a long stream of Gaelic curses handy for the yelling. Because good God, guys: Black Jack Randall is alive.
I don’t say that with surprise; like many of you, I’m familiar with the books and knew this moment was coming even before the first time Randall leered at Claire in the woods. Still, though, the mere idea that Randall lives — and that Jamie may eventually learn of his existence, too — is a juicy...

Outlander has been a massive success for Starz, and despite the popularity of the books, that was no sure thing going in. In fact, it was because of the books popularity, and the connection fans felt with the characters, that the show could have easily turned its own fanbase away, had the characters not lived up to expectations.
Of course, that worry gets kicked up a few notches when the show deviates from the source material.
It’s all worked out well though, as the show has not only managed a huge following, but has picked up a lot of noteworthy attention along the way, such as being voted Most Bingeworthy Show at the 2016 Critics Choice Awards.

It appears that Claire and Jamie will be getting a lesson on “the etiquette of war” when they arrive in France in Outlander Season 2. The newest poster for the Starz drama’s second season centers on a dinner party of sorts, as the couple seem to be surrounded by both friends and foes, with many of the people in the image sneaking glances at each other. In addition to Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan), featured in the dinner scene above on the poster are Mary Hawkins (Rosie Day), King Louis Xv (Lionel Lingelser), Louise de Rohan (Claire Sermonne), Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix), Le
