Outfielder for the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers (1956-1958), St. Louis Cardinals (1959), Pittsburgh Pirates (1960-1961), Milwaukee Braves (1961), Kansas City Athletics (1962-1964), Baltimore Orioles (1964) and California Angels (1965).
Led the American League in Triples (15) in 1962.
Inducted into the Pittsburgh chapter of the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.
(September 24, 1957) Playing with the Brooklyn Dodgers, he scored the last run at Ebbets Field. The following season the Dodgers moved to Los Angeles.
(April 15, 1958) He became the first major league player to come to the plate on the west coast, as the leadoff batter for the Los Angeles Dodgers against the San Francisco Giants at Seals Stadium.
