Amy Gardner(II)
Amy has lived in Wooster, Ohio all of her life. She graduated from
Wooster High School in 1998 and Ashland University in 2002. She has a
B.A. in Communications and a minor in theatre. Her mom and dad and the
rest of her family and friends are very supportive of her and her
performing. She has a dog named Cubby, which is a Bichon Frise. She started performing on stage
at the age of three when she was in her first dance recital. She took
tap, jazz, baton, and ballet for 13 years. Three of those years she
competed in many Dance and Talent Competitions and workshops,
including: Star Power, Rising Star, Show Stoppers, Dance Masters USA,
and Rising Star Nationals. Tap has always been her first love. Amy took
lessons from Internationally-known choreographer, Gregg Russell, at
Dancing Unlimited for many years. In fact, her first dance teacher was
Judy Russell, Gregg's Mom. She's also worked with dancers, Kim Ranney
Darcie Mapel,and Rod Howell. Gregg and Darcie choreographed her tap
solos and group tap numbers for competitions. She "Semi-Retired" from
dance at the age of 16. However, she now choreographs for several high
schools musicals now. Amy first started singing at the age of seven.
Although, she was lip-syncing to Whitney Houston by the age of three.
She took singing seriously by the age of 12, when she started singing
semi-professionally with her dad's 50s and 60s band, Good Company.
She is still singing with them today. But she's ready to break out on
her own and make an R&B/Jazz CD.
She started performing in musicals when she was a Freshmen in high school. Ever since then, she has done at least one musical a year. In fact, she minored in theatre in college so she could perform in the musicals. Some of her past roles include: Miss Adelaide in "Guys and Dolls," Princess Puffer in "The Mystery of Edwin Drood," Sister Margaretta in "The Sound of Music," and Dolly Tate in "Annie Get Your Gun."
Currently, she still resides in Wooster, awaiting her "Big Break" into show business...somewhere other than in Wooster!
