The MCU currently has numerous projects in development, both movies and shows, despite Iger’s announcement that their creative output will significantly decrease to 2-3 movies and 2 live-action shows per year.
Many projects were greenlit before the SAG-AFTRA strike and the subsequent failure of several ventures, and now they need to be completed.
One such project is ‘Armor Wars.’ Initially conceived as a movie, it was redeveloped into a show, and now it’s back to being a movie again. According to the production schedule, ‘Armor Wars’ is set to begin filming on January 6, 2025, in Atlanta, USA. Although details about the movie are scarce, the production listing has provided a brief synopsis:
Cheadle returns as James Rhodes aka War Machine in Armor Wars, about Tony Stark’s worst fear coming true: what happens when his tech falls into the wrong hands. Stark discovers that someone has been stealing his...

Rumour has it Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever director Ryan Coogler is being eyed to helm both Black Panther 3 and Marvel Studios' eventual X-Men reboot.
It's an exciting prospect given what a talent the filmmaker is, but one The DisInsider may have thrown cold water on. According to the site, Coogler is on a shortlist to helm both Avengers 5 and Avengers: Secret Wars.
While the post's author believes he'd likely direct only one of them, they also suggest the director could pass the reigns of Black Panther 3 to someone else to focus on Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Still, we'd bet on Marvel Studios wanting a single filmmaker for the next Avengers movies as, like Infinity War and Endgame, they could then be shot back-to-back (surely a necessity when they're being released only one year apart).
We'll see what happens, but Coogler directing Avengers 5 or Avengers: Secret Wars...

If watching animated food items getting it on tickles your funny bone, we have some good news: Prime Video's Sausage Party sequel series, Foodtopia, has announced a premiere date.
The "hole season" (see what they did there?), which will continue the adventure of the various sentient groceries we met in 2016's R-rated hit, will be available to stream of Prime from July 11.
We're still waiting on a trailer, but an unsurprisingly crude first poster has been released featuring the characters holding up a... yeah, this doesn't really need an explanation, does it?
Check out the artwork at the link below, and let us know what you think in the comments section.

The Simu Liu starrer Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was one of the most successful films in the recent past for the MCU. Earning more than $430 million during the pandemic, the film was lauded for its representation and action sequences. Marvel Studios has a lineup of projects slated for release or development in the coming years. While progress on most of these projects is clear, one movie has been stuck in development limbo for quite some time, with only sporadic updates emerging. We’re referring to the War Machine movie, ‘Armor Wars.’
‘Armor Wars’ was initially envisioned as a film based on the comic storyline of the same name. It was intended to serve as a sequel to ‘Secret Invasion’ (released last year) and ‘Ironheart’ (whose release date is currently unknown). As far back as 2011, Don Cheadle confirmed the development of a War Machine film, with Joe Robert Cole brought on board to pen the script.
Nine years later, during Disney’s 2020 Investor Day, it was revealed that the ‘Armor Wars’ TV series is in the works for Disney+, with Don Cheadle reprising his role as James Rhodes. In 2021, Cheadle...

Marvel Studios has a myriad of projects either scheduled for release or in development over the next few years. Amidst the progress of most of these projects, one film, ‘Armor Wars,’ has lingered in development for several years, revealing only fragments of its status.
Originally envisioned as a movie based on the comic storyline of the same name, ‘Armor Wars’ was slated to be a sequel to Secret Invasion (released last year) and Ironheart (release date unknown). In 2011, Don Cheadle confirmed the development of a War Machine film, with Joe Rober Cole hired as the writer. Just how twisted is the new “Sausage Party” sequel series? Even star Kristen Wiig is shocked by it.
The upcoming “Sausage Party: Foodtopia” series is set to premiere on Prime Video in 2024, with original voice actors Wiig, Seth Rogen, Michael Cera, David Krumholtz, and Edward Norton all returning for more tasty fun. Don Cheadle had to block out the white noise when it came to joining the MCU.
The Oscar nominee was cast as the replacement for Terrence Howard’s character Lt. James Rhodes (aka War Machine) in the “Iron Man” sequel. Cheadle went on to appear in seven Marvel movies, plus the Disney+ series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” and “What If…?.”
Yet, Cheadle is now revealing how he committed to the MCU before “Iron Man 2” in 2010.

This is going to happen very fast,'” Cheadle recalled to GQ. “‘Why don’t you take an hour and decide if you want to do it.'”

Hold on to your buns, because "Sausage Party" is back! Prime Video has announced an order for a new animated series called "Sausage Party: Foodtopia," based on the feature of the same name featuring anthropomorphic foodstuffs in a grocery store with foul mouths, big dreams, and sex drives rivaling a teenager discovering internet tube sites for the first time. We called the film "raunchy, raw, and one of the most outrageous, funniest movies of the year," in our review back in 2016, and we definitely weren't alone. Not only was "Sausage Party" the first 3D computer-animated film to be rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America, but it became the highest-grossing R-rated animated film until it was surpassed by "Demon Slayer: Mugen Train" in 2020. The film was so extreme, it had to be heavily edited to avoid an Nc-17 rating, which only added to the film's mystique.

Armor Wars is not headed to after all, at least not as originally envisioned. Disney+ first announced the series in December 2020. and it was to star Don Cheadle reprising his role as US Air Force officer James Rhodes aka War Machine from the Iron Man and Avengers feature films. The series' plot revolves around the fallout of Tony Stark's tech falling into the wrong hands.
Yassir Lester, whose writing credits include Cheadle's Black Monday series on Showtime, was hired as head writer in August 2021. He reportedly excited executives and Cheadle after he pitched them his ideas for the show.

Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ Armor Wars is a series no longer. The studio has shaken things up by announcing it will now be a feature instead of the originally planned six-episode show. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series will be redeveloped into a movie. Unfortunately, this also means the project will be pushed further down the development timeline. (Credit: Marvel Studios/Disney) Don Cheadle is set to reprise his role as Colonel James “Rhodey” Rhodes, Aka War Machine — which he has played since 2010’s Iron Man 2. Yassir Lester, who was set to run the writers’ room for the series, will instead write the feature. According to sources, the development process led to a discovery that the project is better suited to a feature than a series. The Marvel team has done a similar switch-up before when Hawkeye was moved from a feature to a series. On the plus side,...

So, bad news. It looks like we will no longer be getting an "Armor Wars" series on Disney+. Not to fear, though, because it will now be developed into a feature-length film. The Hollywood Reporter revealed that plans for the series have been reworked, with its head writer Yassir Lester remaining as the film's screenwriter.
According to sources familiar with the project, executives at Marvel Studios wanted to ensure that the story was being told the right way, and that eventually, the best way seemed to be as a movie. This doesn't sound like a bad idea, especially since it will give star Don Cheadle his very first headlining film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's really about time, considering how integral his character of James "Rhodey" Rhodes is to the franchise.
Unfortunately, this apparently comes as news to many other key members of the project. The Hollywood Reporter notes that allegedly,...

Marvel Studios is giving a major redesign to “Armor Wars,” shifting it from a six-episode streaming series on Disney+ to a feature film for theaters, Disney has confirmed to TheWrap.
Yassir Lester, who was hired as showrunner for the series, will stay on as screenwriter for the film. The film is still in search of a director.
First announced during Disney’s Investor Day presentation in late 2020, “Armor Wars” will star Don Cheadle as Tony Stark’s closest friend, Col. James “Rhodey” Rhodes, a.k.a. War Machine. Based on a seven-issue “Iron Man” comic series published in 1987, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige described “Armor Wars” as Rhodey dealing with “Tony Stark’s worst nightmare” as the armor technology he used to create Iron Man falls into the wrong hands.

Marvel’s “Armor Wars,” originally planned as a TV series for Disney+, is being redeveloped as a feature film, Variety has learned.
“Armor Wars” will star Don Cheadle, reprising his MCU role of James “Rhodey” Rhodes, a.k.a. War Machine. During Disney’s 2020 Investor Day, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced several new Marvel Cinematic Universe TV shows, including Armor Wars. The six-episode series would find Don Cheadle reprising his role of James Rhodes/War Machine, but it appears that the show is now headed to the big screen. THR has reported that Marvel Studios are now developing Armor Wars as a movie instead.
Sources told THR that Marvel “was committed in getting the story told the right way and in that process realized that a feature was better suited for the project.” Production on the Armor Wars series was looking to kick off sometime next year, but with the project transforming into a movie, it’s expected that the schedule will be pushed back. Yassir Lester (Black Monday) was serving as the head writer on the series and will remain onboard to pen the movie. No director has been signed yet.

Marvel Studios has shaken up its Armor Wars project, and now what was to have been a series for Disney+ will be redeveloped as a feature film.
The move essentially pushes back the title further down the development slate.
Sources say the studio was committed in getting the story told the right way and in that process realized that a feature was better suited for the project. Like all Marvel movies, it is intended for a theatrical release.
Don Cheadle, who is reprising his longtime Marvel Cinematic Universe role as Colonel James “Rhodey” Rhodes, Aka War Machine, remains on board to star. Yassir Lester, who was acting as head writer on the series, will remain as its feature scribe.
Marvel had been eyeing a 2023 start of production on the series, but the few people who were gearing up for that were notified Thursday of the change of direction.

“Duncanville” will end its run after three seasons. Amy Poehler executive produced “Duncanville” and starred in the show as Duncan, an ordinary 15-year-old with a wild imagination and his sights set on the freedom of adulthood.
