The Walking Dead (also known as The Walking Dead: The Game and The Walking Dead: Season One) is a point-and-click adventure game set in the world of Robert Kirkman’s best-selling comic book series. And so begins Lee’s journey as he struggles to survive and make sense of all the chaos. Soon after, Lee meets 8-year-old Clementine who was left to fend for herself and somehow managed...read more...

Telltale Publishing have announced that they will be bringing the popular survival game 7 Days to Die to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next month. The hit PC game currently has over 1.5 million players, and the developers at Iron Galaxy and The Fun Pimps have recently talked about enjoying the challenge of adapting that formula for a console audience.
In a recent interview that also showcases some new gameplay footage for the multi-genre survival challenge, representatives from each studio spoke at length about the way their game will really stand out against other titles. Set in a brutally unforgiving post-apocalyptic world where humanity have been overrun by the undead, 7 Days to Die is an open-world survival game that is a unique combination of first person shooter, survival horror, tower defence, and role-playing games.

This is what I looked like after I saw Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
In the days of old, games rarely had the capacity to make us emotional. I distinctly recall the first time I ever saw anyone cry because of a video game. It was back in the mid-’90s, and during a game of Marble Madness on the Mega Drive (Genesis, to you folk in the colonies), my friend’s little sister decided she wanted to play Ecco the Dolphin, and just ripped his cart out of the console while he was in the middle of a high score run. While he generally wasn’t prone to emotional outbursts, or even basic empathy (this guy laughed when Bambi’s mum died) on this occasion, as he watched his game seize up and crash, Niagara Falls.

After tackling brands such as Star Wars and Marvel Comics, the team over at Zen Studios is now developing a table based around Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead series, which will be available through both Zen Pinball 2 and Pinball FX 2 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii U, Windows PC and more.
Based around the first season of the hit series, The Walking Dead table will take players through a variety of locations visited by Clementine and Lee, including Everett’s pharmacy and the “walker-infested streets of Savannah.” Much like the award-winning series it is based on, the table will also force players to solve a variety of problems, acquire food and supplies, make difficult choices on who to save and who to leave behind and navigate through walker hordes in order to reach safety. In recent times the uber-tough, powerful, near-unkillable super-soldiers of classic video gaming have been joined by more sentient, emotionally-aware lead characters who will aid in a developer’s ability to create a vivid and encapsulating narrative. Notable examples of these more complex characters include Ethan Mars (Heavy Rain), Yorda (Ico), Cole Phelps (L.A Noire) and Lee Everett (The Walking Dead).
However, just because video gaming – as an entire medium – has become ever more complex and sophisticated doesn’t mean there is no longer room for a badass to come onto our screens and distribute a satisfying beat down to a squadron of enemies, making full use of their implausible muscles, improbably large guns and world-class combat skills.
For the purposes of this list and in the interest of fair-conduct, we have taken the approach of imagining a Battle-Royale-style situation (as seen in 2000 action-thriller film) where a large group...

Is it safe to say at this point that no one could have predicted just how good Telltale’s episodic adventure game based on the mega-popular The Walking Dead franchise ended up being? I enjoyed plenty of the company’s previous titles, but I didn’t go into the game expecting that by the end, I’d walk away with it being my favorite title of 2012. The story of Lee Everett and Clementine was brutal, unflinching, and compelling, and naturally, we were left wanting more.
Enter The Walking Dead: Season Two and its first episode, All That Remains. A direct continuation of the first game’s story, this sequel aims to recapture the tension and trademark tough decision-making that have become franchise traditions, while putting a bit of a new spin on things with its choice of playable protagonist. And despite some initial skepticism I had with that choice,...

Developer Telltale Games has been developing classically-styled point-and-click adventure games for close to a decade, but their prominence in the general gaming world exploded last year with the release of The Walking Dead. While the company has promised to continue with their story of the zombie apocalypse, they’re still taking the time to branch out and continue to try new things.
Enter The Wolf Among Us. Taking place in the universe created by Bill Willingham’s popular comic book series Fables, Telltale’s latest effort clearly takes some influence from their recent hit. That being said, it does not feel like a retread, thanks to a radically different world and concept. The result (at least with the first episode), is another winner, as it offers a great start to a series that gamers will definitely want to keep their eyes on.

Telltale’s next point-and-click adventure will be arriving Fall 2013 and it’s coming after the hugely successful first season of The Walking Dead. That’s just about all there is in the similarities department, because The Wolf Among Us offers more than enough to set itself apart from being just “the next game from TellTale.”
The Wolf Among Us follows sheriff of Fabletown, Bigby Wolf aka the Big Bad Wolf. Characters in this game are all based on classic fables, fairy tales and any other public domain character you can think of with a dark twist. "Minecraft" already has a host of zombies in it--so why not add the cast of Telltale's "The Walking Dead" to fight them? in the fifth skin pack Dlc for "Minecraft," you'll be able to play as Lee Everett, Kenny, a Female Walker, Molly, a Male Walker, Christa, and Omid later this week.
Sure, they're not going to bring any actual mechanical changes to the game, but it's neat to see the cast from the first "season" of "The Walking Dead" alive, walking, and in voxel art form.
The pack will be available on July 31 for 160 Ms Points.

Lee Everett’s story may have come to a close with the end of the first season of episodes that made up Telltale’s take on The Walking Dead, but fans have been vocal in their desire for more harrowing adventures set in the zombie apocalypse. While the studio has confirmed that a second season is in the works, players will have to wait until later this year for more details to be announced.
In the meantime, Telltale has provided fans with The Walking Dead: 400 Days, a new bit of downloadable content for Season One that will apparently bridge some gaps between the first and the second season. Though the game is noticeably shorter than previous episodes, and takes a very different narrative approach, many of the first season’s best qualities (most notably the tough decision-making and the involving storylines) make a welcome return. We’re still about 4 months away until AMC’s “The Walking Dead” Season 4 tries to win me back after that lackluster Season 3 finale, but in the meantime TellTale Games plans on keeping your appetite for human flesh satiated with a new Dlc for their “Walking Dead” gaming, titled “The Walking Dead: 400 Days” released sometime this Summer. For those who have never played the game: You play as a man named Lee Everett, a former college professor and convicted felon on his way to prison at the start of the undead apocalypse. He’s unexpectedly freed from police captivity and meets an eight-year old girl named Clementine, orphaned in the aftermath of the outbreak. Lee takes Clementine under his wing, forming a tight emotional bond in a world gone to hell. What happens from then on is for you to decide as you control the story through your decisions. Lee and...

I’ve gushed like the burst cranium of a walker over Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead: The Video Game, which has been ported to pretty much every platform imaginable. Well, you can now add Sony’s portable Playstation Vita to the mix, according to Joystiq’s coverage of Sony’s E3 press conference.
If the promise of bringing Lee Everett and his motley band of survivors with you to the safe haven of your bathroom wasn’t enough (you could already do so in the iPhone and iPad, but I’m running with it), the Vita release also promises an additional episode called “400 Days,” which is certain to reduce me to a sobbing infant. Hey, these games are brutal.
There is also a promised “Playstation Vita bundle” to be released alongside the new content. Whether that means a hardware bundle or (hopefully) a physical media release is a little vague.

The element of player choice was one of the features that made Telltale Games' "The Walking Dead" one of the most critically acclaimed games of 2012. It was an even more meaningful achievement when this choice-driven game essentially reached the same conclusion for all players. The game succeeds in the choices during the journey and less on the anticipation of the outcome of the choices. One of the more significant choices was during the game's second episode where you had to decide on the fates of Doug and Carley. It was only Sunday night that I was out standing in the snow and rain at BAFTAs. Just when I thought I had gotten over the show, the video game BAFTAs have crept up on me and released their nominations on me.
Across 17 catagories, Journey has been nominated for 8. As with all the awards this year, The Walking Dead is right on its heels as it looks like the two games are set to slug it out one last time on March 5th.
In one of the most interesting nominations of the year, Far Cry 3 has been nominated for Best Story. This is going to get some stick from some, but not from me. I have been championing that games story and intent since I completed the game. Clearly a few of us Brits had our thinking caps on as we played through the game.

Usually the Oscars are the award show that dominates February but video games get a look in via the D.I.C.E awards. There is of course the Spike VGAs in early December but D.I.C.E, which take place on the 7th of February, make sure to get the final word.
D.I.C.E stands for Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain and is one of the leading peer-to-peer awards show in the industry and uses the four terms in its abbreviation to judge it’s winners.
This year, Journey has come out as the clear forerunner with 11 nominations, while The Walking Dead lands in second with it’s 8, Far Cry 3 gathered 7 and Halo 4 collecting 6 nominations.
It seems that Journey and The Walking Dead are going to fight it out again as they have done all awards season, and deservedly so. Those two games really are a cut above the rest.

If you’re like me (and the countless other people) who loved Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead, then you're probably super anxious for Season 2 to come out. Now we don’t have an exact timeframe on when the next season will be released, but we do have some info about what the studio is working on currently… game saves.
** I should probably go ahead and put up a huge Spoiler Warning for anyone who has not played Season 1 yet, because what follows will talk about that. **
So if you have played the game, then you know that one of the big features is the fact that every action you make affects how the story plays out. But what about when Season 2 rolls around? How will the story you have played thus far carry over to the new season? Well that’s the primary focus right now for Telltale, and they...

When you're spending six to 60 hours in a game, the characters you play and the characters around you need to be a little dangerous, a little scary, a little vulnerable--but maybe not all in the same person.
So which character stuck with us the most even after the game was over? Maybe they scared us a little; maybe we we afraid what would happen to them once the credits started to roll; maybe we hoped we could play as them again in the future.
These are our picks for the best characters of 2012.
3. Wei Shen (performer: Will Yun Lee), "Sleeping Dogs"
Conflicted Hong Kong cop Wei Shen isn't anything new if you spent your formative years watching gritty Hk crime movies, but it was still refreshing to see this kind of character brought to life in an actual game instead of the endless winking homages to the works of John Woo (and no,...

The Walking Dead. You’ve all heard of it, be it the Comic Books, the TV show or, more importantly now, the game. Fresh off the back of their (well-deserved) Game of the Year award win at the Vga’s, Telltale Games are likely to be the big name on many gamer’s lips right now, yet I still have friends who claim to be true gamers that haven’t even started the game, let alone experienced it’s intricate, delicate plotting.
Because in all honesty, that’s exactly what The Walking Dead is, an experience. I’ve personally lost myself in many gaming worlds during 2012, most recently the beautiful, vicious Rook Islands in Far Cry 3, but although the narrative told of one man’s mission to rescue his friend’s from a brutal (yet oddly intriguing) madman, I didn’t care about any of them anywhere near as much...

Lee Everett and young Clementine endured all sorts of horrors during their time in the zombie apocalypse, but it's all worth it, if only for one award: the title of Game of the Year during Spike's 2012 Video Game Awards.
Telltale's "The Walking Dead" adaptation took the top prize at the VGAs this year, beating out the likes of powerhouses like "Assassin's Creed III" and "Mass Effect 3." It took home three other prizes as well: Best Adapted Video Game, Best Performance by a Human Female (Melissa Hutchison as Clementine) and Best Downloadable Game. Still haven't played the "Walking Dead" game? Perhaps all of those accolades are enough to push you over the edge.

Connor Kenway from Assassin's Creed 3, Max Payne, Vaas from Far Cry 3, and Lee Everett from The Walking Dead all come together to duke it out, deathmatch style. We even have a quick appearance by Cortana from Halo, who seems to be running the fight.
Produced by Bat in the Sun, this crazy cool video is part of the Machinima Interactive Film Festival. If you check out the director’s channel, you can view many more video game brawls featuring many of our favorite characters.
I think, for the most part, they got the characters pretty spot on. Although I probably would have given the actor portraying Lee Everett a little more hair to closely match his video game counterpart. He almost looks more like Louis from Left 4 Dead, just wearing Lee Everett's clothes.
