A college Athletic Director has resigned after he was caught talking about a player's mom's giant boobs on a hot microphone. Oops. The dude behind the gaffe is Chris Peterson from the University of Arkansas-Little Rock -- who went off about a female soccer player's mother's jumblies during a game back in August. "Remember her mom was here a few years ago? Member her Pete? She had her sh*t hanging out too, remember that?...

When I first devised the idea of Comic Execution, I wanted to do more than just the standard “this is good, this is bad” capsule reviews that are so prevalent nowadays. I wanted the column to be entertaining first and foremost, and I wanted it to hold mainstream comics to a higher standard than what I saw online. Going with a theme of “who will survive” seemed natural for a column on a horror themed website but I didn’t realize how Well it would work. Well, for my own purposes, at least. Today, though, marks the first step down a dark corridor. Full of blood and pain is this corridor. You see, I’m executing a publisher. You’ll have to read two reviews first, though. Or you could scroll down the page to my Hinterkind review and skip the first two but Surely you wouldn’t be so cruel…...

Vancouver's ultra-dark electro band Öhm is the brainchild of industrial icons Chris Peterson and Craig Joseph Huxtable – both of whom are high-profile names in industrial music, having worked with iconic bands like Front Line Assembly, Unit 187, Decree, Noise Unit and Landscape Body Machine. The pair joined forces two years ago, partly as a creative outlet beyond the scope of their other projects, and also as a way of sharing their unique artistic vision. The team-up soon evolved into a legitimate band, and this month they released their self-titled debut album comprised of ten dark, scary heavy-beat Edm overtures dubbed “dark disco meets pop-electro.” One of the spookiest tracks on Öhm is the dystopian sci-fi nightmare “When Robots Fuck,” which became the subject of this animated short film by Geoff Mark, making its World Premiere right here. The cinematic atmospheres conjured by the band are paired with Mark's surreal, debris-littered apocalyptic landscapes,...

The second generation of Comic Execution has officially begun! I’m actually surprisingly excited to start a whole new block of reviews because the first generation taught me that not only could I be surprised by what develops in a series by issue three but also just how critical I actually can be of comics. That’s not to say I didn’t maybe gush a bit over ‘Ballistic’ but ‘Ghosted’ actually had to earn my respect, which it most certainly did. Of course, not all the first generation comics are done yet. Here’s the status of the first generation of Comic Execution so far:
Executed: ‘Sheltered’, ‘The Strain: The Fall’, ‘Dinosaurs Attack!’, ‘Tomorrowland’, ‘Lazarus’, ‘Tom Strong and the Planet of Peril’, ‘Sidekick’, ‘Extinction Parade’
Survivors: ‘Ghosted’, ‘Red Sonja’, ‘Fbp’, ‘Trillium’
On-going: ‘The Rocketeer & The Spirit’, ’3 Guns’, ‘It Came!’
If, as I suspect, the on-going series are not executed before their run is over,...

It's been a few months since we last heard anything about the wonderfully titled low budget, man-in-suit monster movie Don’t Let the Riverbeast Get You!, which once again proves The Cabin in the Woods was correct about everything being better with a merman.
Synopsis:
A vicious monster has arisen from its watery lair! It's the Riverbeast, and he's threatening a peaceful New England town. Local tutor Neil Stuart has seen the beast before, but nobody believed his story, making him the town laughingstock. Neil sets out not only to prove that the Riverbeast exists but also, with the help of his beautiful pupil, scrappy tutor buddies, and a former professional athlete, to vanquish the aquatic menace!
Don't Let the Riverbeast Get You! is an all-new movie from the makers of Freaky Farley and Monsters, Marriage, and Murder in Manchvegas. It's directed by Charles Roxburgh and stars Matt Farley, Sharon Scalzo,...

Chicago – Charlie Kaufman (“Adaptation,” “Being John Malkovich”) once wrote for a TV sitcom so odd that its network and most of the U.S. had no idea what to make of it. Without question, “Get a Life” was ahead of its time. So much of the twisted comedy of 2012 owes a debt to this true oddity from two decades ago, a unique gem that is finally getting a complete series release years after fans started clamoring for it.
Rating: 4.5/5.0
Was it worth the wait? First and foremost, the show is much funnier than I remembered. As the audio commentary points out (and there’s one on every episode), the series premiere of “Get a Life” was a relatively straightforward comedy about a man-child. It wasn’t nearly as dark and twisted as it would later become. Quickly, “Get a Life” turned more into a show about a demented loner and...
