Things are finally coming together for "Dylan Dog: Dead Of Night," the upcoming movie based on the wildly popular Italian comic book series "Dylan Dog." Updates were sparse the last few years, but in a flurry of activity this month the project received a Us release date, a new trailer, and a snazzy new poster featuring star Brandon Routh as Dylan Dog.
The long-awaited film is also headed to WonderCon this weekend in San Francisco, where director Kevin Munroe ("Tmnt") and Routh's co-star, Sam Huntington, will premiere some brand new footage from the film.

In a two-picture deal with Inferno Entertainment, Entertainment One has picked up Canadian distribution rights to two movies produced by Australia's Omnilab Media -- the Jason Statham action pic The Killer Elite and the action drama Tomorrow When the War Began.
In Gary McKendry's Killer, Statham plays a former Navy Seal who reassembles his old team, which includes Robert De Niro, for a confrontation with a former Sas member, played by Clive Owen. The film is produced by Michael Boughen through Omnilab's Australian production arm, Ambience Entertainment, and Joni Sighvatsson. Exec producers are Christopher Mapp, Matthew Street, David Whealy, Peter D. Graves and Steve Chasman.
The top-grossing Australian film of 2010, Tomorrow, written and directed by Stuart Beattie and also produced by Boughen, concerns eight teens who find themselves in the middle of a war.

Omnilab Media’s CEO Christopher Mapp has confirmed that Peter and Michael Spierig (Undead, Daybreakers) will direct Power of the Dark Crystal, to be shot in 3D combining live action, traditional puppetry, motion capture and VFX by Melbourne’s Iloura.
The sequel to 1982’s fantasy hit The Dark Crystal will be produced by Ambience Entertainment, with executive producers Brian Henson, Lisa Henson and Jason Lust, from The Jim Henson Company.
Other executive producers are Omnilab’s Matthew Street and David Whealy, and Cinemarket Films’ Peter D. Graves.
The script was written by Baz Luhrman collaborator Craig Pearce (Moulin Rouge), based on a script by Annette Duffy and David Odell.
Fantasy artist Brian Froud will once again be the conceptual designer.

It has been more than four years since it was announced animator Genndy Tartakovsky would be directing a sequel to classic 80s fantasy film The Dark Crystal and that fact alone should tell you something. Sydney -- The Jim Henson Company is to partner with Australian production outfit Omnilab Media to make "Power of the Dark Crystal," a sequel to Henson's 1982 fantasy hit "The Dark Crystal," the companies confirmed Wednesday.
"Daybreakers" helmers Peter and Michael Speirig will direct the film to be made in stereoscopic 3D with a mix of live action and Henson puppetry, and is being billed as one of the most ambitious projects ever to be made here.
"Power of the Dark Crystal" will be produced by the Australia-based production arm of Omnilab Media, Ambience Entertainment, while Omnilab-owned special effects house Illoura will work on the CGI elements of the film.

Sydney -- Geoffrey Rush will add the role of missionary priest to his repertoire, after signing to join the cast of indigenous musical "Bran Nue Dae," producers said Monday.
Rush will co-star with aboriginal actor Ernie Dingo and Australian musicians Missy Higgins and Dan Sultan in what he calls a "kick arse road movie."
The film, set in Broome in tropical northwest Australia, is a coming-of-age musical comedy that celebrates family, forgiveness and aboriginal reconciliation.
Rachel Perkins adapted for the screen and its creator Jimmy Chi. Perkins will direct and will have cinematographer Andrew Lesnie behind the camera.
