- Composer, singer and actor Robert "Duke" Leonard, born in Utica, New York on October 23, 1901, was educated at Utica Free Academy and the Utica Conservatory. He appeared in musical comedy, vaudeville and night clubs. Duke Leonard died in Miami Beach, Florida on November 19, 1961.
