A former Suits actor has ruled out Og cast members joining the upcoming spinoff series. However, they haven’t entirely dismissed the idea of cameos or the occasional appearance from the likes of Meghan Markle and other Suits stars. Ahead, what’s been made “very clear” about Suits L.A.
No original cast members are expected to join the ‘Suits’ spinoff as regulars
Sorry, Suits fans. For those hoping to see familiar faces on the upcoming spinoff in the wake of the original show’s renewed popularity, it’s not happening.
Rachael Harris, who played Sheila Sazs and is a friend of Suits creator Aaron Korsh, opened up about Suits L.A. at the Makeup Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards. She told The Mirror that Korsh has no plans of adding actors from Suits to the cast of the spinoff.

We're living a Suits Renaissance!
The former USA Network series that dominated cable television during the golden era of Blue Sky Dramas has found an unprecedented level of success across streaming platforms, building an entirely new audience since the series signed off its original run in 2019.
For those of us Suitors who have been on this ride since the series' inception, it's been exciting to see this cult hit resurge and become a bonafide hit.
What's even more surprising and delightful is seeing how the series that singlehandedly (and ironically) held viewers down during the strikes has sparked a spinoff that has surpassed the talking stages and is actually in the works.
The prospect of a spinoff had Suitors old and new stoked at the chance of recapturing some of the magic of the original series.
Regardless of what those behind the series have stated, we're all still holding out...

Once upon a time before she married a prince, Meghan Markle was a working actor who starred in the legal drama Suits. The now-duchess played Rachel Zane on the series from 2011 to 2018. Meghan left the show before her royal wedding to Prince Harry, an affair that her Suits co-stars attended.
The show had a resurgence in 2023 when it became available on the streaming platforms Netflix and Peacock. And now, there’s even a new reboot in the works titled Suits: LA. Because of that, there’s been speculation about whether Harry’s wife or any of her castmates will make a cameo in the new series. Meghan’s former co-stars haven’t had any contact with her though, and one even admitted he’s “scared” to talk to her now. Here’s more on that.

Patrick J. Adams is ready for a Suits reunion. The actor addressed his former co-star Meghan Markle’s rumored return to acting during a red carpet interview at the Golden Globes on Jan. 7. He even had an idea for a spinoff involving their characters.

Adams and several other Suits stars were on hand at the 2024 Golden Globes, where they presented the award for best drama series. Markle didn’t attend the event, but that didn’t stop reporters from quizzing her co-stars about the Duchess of Sussex’s possible return to TV.
Keltie Knight from E! News (via YouTube) asked Adams whether he’d “team up” with Markle if she decided to give acting another go.

Back in October, it was reported that a new Suits series is in development from creator Aaron Korsh for NBCUniversal. The show was said to not be a revival or reboot, but the quasi-spin-off would take place in a new location with a new cast of characters. The first time a spin-off of the popular show was attempted, the show Pearson featured Gina Torres’ character as she entered the dirty world of Chicago politics. Unfortunately, the series was canceled after just one season. However, if they would ever ask Patrick J. Adams to don the threads again, he wouldn’t hesitate.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the stars were ecstatic to see the surge in popularity when the former USA Network show started streaming on Netflix. When Adams and his co-star, Gabriel Macht, walked the red carpet at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards, they expressed much gratitude to the newfound audience.

The streaming boys of summer are back. The 2024 Golden Globes staged a reunion of Suits stars Patrick J. Adams and Gabriel Macht who teamed up to present the final TV award of the night, Outstanding Drama Series. The two were later joined by fellow original Suits cast members Sarah Rafferty, currently co-starring in the breakout new Netflix series My Life With the Walter Boys, and Gina Torres, now on 9-1-1: Lone Star.
The reunion came four years after Suits ended its run on USA Network and months after the legal drama found new global audience on Netflix, setting streaming records as the top series of the summer.
The series’ newfound success was referenced by Adams.
“There’s nothing more dramatic or anxiety-inducing than waiting all night to hear that your category is finally arrived,” Macht said when the two took the stage, to which Adams replied, “Yes, that’s true.

After the resurgence of popularity of Suits thanks to Netflix, was anyone surprised when it was announced that two of its stars would be among the presenters at the 2024 Golden Globes? We knew heading into the awards show that Patrick J. Adams and Gabriel Macht, who starred as Mike Ross and Harvey Specter, the college dropout who never attended law school and the corporate lawyer who hired him, were on the list of presenters. And they took the stage to present Best TV Series — Drama, only for viewers to be treated to a surprise mid-way through. “There is nothing more dramatic or anxiety-inducing than waiting all night to hear that your category has finally arrived,” Macht remarked. “Yes, yes, that’s true. It’s hard to imagine having to wait so long for your show to get that kind of recognition,” Adams quipped. “What are you talking about?” Macht asked,...

Patrick J. Adams and Gabriel Macht are sharing their thoughts on Suits‘ streaming success over the summer, and whether or not they would reprise their characters for the potential spinoff series that would be set in the Suits universe.
The former co-stars, who were also presenting at the 2024 Golden Globes on Sunday, said on the red carpet to Variety that they were “very grateful” for the resurgence in the show’s popularity after it began streaming on Netflix (in addition to Peacock) in June. “Suits” hasn’t been on the air in four years, but the fandom remains stronger than ever. Cast members Patrick J. Suits fans, rejoice. There’s a chance, albeit a small one, that Meghan Markle may someday reopen the Suits chapter of her life. The Duchess of Sussex, who hasn’t acted since marrying Prince Harry in 2018, has reportedly already had “discussions” about a potential Suits reunion.
Meghan would reportedly ‘consider’ taking part in a ‘Suits’ reunion
In the wake of Suits breaking streaming records when it hit Netflix in the summer of 2023, talk of Meghan returning to the USA legal series, which she left after the season 7 finale, ensued. Now, more than six months after the resurgence of Suits, which ended in 2019, there’s been talk of a reunion not unlike the 2021 Friends reunion special.
“Meghan’s been tight-lipped about potentially revisiting the series,” a source told Us Weekly. “But there’s hope that if the timing is right, something can be worked out.”

The 2024 Golden Globe Awards are mere days away, and as the big event prepares to honor the best and brightest that TV and film have to offer, the ceremony is also apparently making way for a possible Suits reunion. Adams who played Harvey Specter and Mike Ross in the former USA Network hit will be reunited among the 81st annual ceremony’s presenters. The duo are just two of the names listed in a starry lineup. Prince Harry had something else to “worry about” upon witnessing Prince William and Kate Middleton’s reaction to his dating Meghan Markle. The Duke of Sussex revealed to his brother and sister-in-law, the Prince and Princess of Wales, that he’d been seeing someone “new” in the months after he and his now-wife, the Duchess of Sussex, met in July 2016. Ahead, how William and Kate’s reaction “baffled” Harry.

As someone who once served on a grand jury trial for several weeks in a row, allow me to be the first to inform the "Suits" fandom out there: real-life legal proceedings are usually boring, tedious, and mind-numbingly slow. Basically, they're everything that fictional legal dramas ought not to be, which is why countless movies and shows set in and around courtrooms -- from "Jag" and "NCIS" to "Better Call Saul" and, yes, "Suits" -- have had to resort to a little artistic license in order to punch up scripts and get viewers swept up in the action. That said, executive producer, writer, and series creator Aaron Korsh actually pulled the concept of the show straight from his own personal experience. After that, well, he relied on the imagination and creativity of his writing team to turn "Suits" into the sensation that it's become.

2023 will forever be the year of "Suits," despite the fact the show ended back in 2019. Why's that? Because Netflix has reinvigorated the interest in the show. In fact, the streamer has made the legal drama nothing short of a sensation, prompting series creator Aaron Korsh to offer his theory on the series' newfound success. There's even a new show set in the "Suits" universe in development, which follows months of speculation that the series would return in the wake of its resurgent popularity.
But if the show proper did return, one big question many fans would have is whether Patrick J. Adams' Mike Ross would be involved. Originally, "Suits" was based around the central conceit of attorney Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) sneaking Ross and his preternatural legal talents into his law firm despite the fact that he never went to law school. But by the seventh season, Adams decided to...

"Suits" creator Aaron Korsh pulled from his own life when crafting the show, which enjoyed success during its USA Network first run and has been blitzing Netflix this year.
In an interview with Nerdist back in 2014 (when "Suits" was in season 4), Korsh detailed some of his inspirations. He cited a scene in the pilot, where Pearson Hardman junior partner Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) fires an associate in front of newly-hired protagonist Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams). It turns out that this "associate" was a) actually a mailroom worker, b) in on the act, and c) not truthfully fired. Louis does this trick to put the fear of God (or at least the Sword of Damocles) in the firm's new employees. Korsh got this character-building moment from a fraternity trick back in his college days at the University of Pennsylvania:

The "Suits" renaissance continues over at Netflix where viewers are continuing to binge eight seasons of the legal drama at an alarming rate. There are actually nine seasons of "Suits" in total, but fans will have to go elsewhere to see how things wrap up, at least for the time being. At the end of season 7, Harvey (Gabriel Macht) travels to Chicago after his former partner Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres) left their law firm, Pearson Darby Specter, to work as a fixer for newly elected Mayor, Bobby Novak (Morgan Spector). The dark history of Chicago politics is filled with backroom deals orchestrated by corrupt politicians that could make for compelling TV, leading the USA Network to greenlight the "Suits" spinoff "Pearson."
Hoping to expand on the success of "Suits" and capitalize on Torres' beaming star power, "Pearson" struggled to find the same success and was unceremoniously canceled after just one season.

How we feeling, "Suits" Hive? In the span of a few short months, the USA Network's reliably consistent performer has transformed into a streaming juggernaut since its arrival on Netflix this past summer. Never mind that the legal series came to a close back in 2019 after nine total seasons. Fans just haven't been able to get enough of Patrick Adams' Mike Ross, Gabriel Macht's Harvey Specter, and, of course, paralegal Rachel Zane played by Meghan Markle.
With so much renewed attention directed towards "Suits," many viewers (and undoubtedly more than a few studio execs) have wondered about the logistics of possibly bringing the popular show back in some form or another. A sequel series picking up on Harvey and Mike's continuing adventures in Seattle? A possible revival sometime down the line? How about a full-scale reboot? Unfortunately, none of this seems all that likely to actually come to...

Call it the “Suits” effect. After the gargantuan performance of the USA series following its debut on Netflix in July, the streamer signaled on Wednesday that it may be increasing its licensed content in the near future.
“As the competitive environment evolves, we may have increased opportunities to license more hit titles to complement our original programming,” Netflix said in its third quarter earnings statement. “We believe this will deliver additional value for our members, as well as for rights holders who benefit from the increased awareness and revenue that Netflix delivers, in addition to the new life that success on Netflix can drive.”
The streamer cited “Friends” and “The Office” — two titles it no longer holds the license to — as other examples of licensed shows that drive success on Netflix.

Suits has been a huge success for Netflix since it launched on the streamer, breaking streaming viewership numbers.
The USA Network legal drama spent 12 weeks in the number one spot on the Nielsen streaming charts, beating Ozark’s record.
Deadline subsequently revealed that creator Aaron Korsh was developing a new offshoot for NBCUniversal (something Netflix pointed to in its own third quarter financials).
Netflix is now looking for more licensed shows that it can acquire and will hopefully have the same effect.
“This legal drama originally premiered on USA Network in 2011 and ran until 2019. Despite having been available on other streaming services, the debut of seasons one to eight on Netflix in July broke viewing records,” it noted in its results.

"Suits" started streaming on Netflix in June just when summer was kicking off this year. Since then, it has become one of the most watched shows of the modern era, amassing over 3 billion "watch minutes" per week over most of the summer. The dramedy series about the inner workings of a top law firm was a steady fan favorite hit for USA Network over nine seasons, garnering good reviews and consistent ratings. "Suits" ended its memorable run in 2019 and, since then, it hasn't necessarily occupied a ton of real estate in the minds of mainstream audiences. Until now.

Before Meghan Markle married Prince Harry, she played Rachel Zane on the legal drama Suits. The cable TV show aired from 2011 to 2019. Four years after its series finale, Suits became the surprise hit of the summer thanks to its resurgence on the streaming platforms Netflix and Peacock. The show, which began streaming in June 2023, clocked 3 billion viewing minutes in one week between the two platforms. And by July, Suits set a new record as the most-viewed acquired streaming title.

Gabriel Macht may have made a name for himself on "Suits," but it turns out, acting chops run in the family. His father, Stephen Macht, is not only a seasoned actor, but was also a recurring character on his son's hit drama series.
Stephen kicked off his acting career in the '70s and was best known for credits like "The Monster Squad" and Stephen King's "Graveyard Shift," before starring opposite Gabriel's Harvey Specter on "Suits." The 81-year-old actor portrayed Henry Gerard, a legal ethics professor at Harvard Law School. Stephen appeared in six episodes in seasons three through nine, with his character both butting heads and teaming up with Harvey on several occasions. As one of the few who was aware of Mike Ross's secret, Gerard played a pivotal role in keeping Mike from being exposed as a fraud.

Jacinda Barrett wasn't the only cast wife to make a cameo on "Suits." In case you missed it, Troian Bellisario, "Pretty Little Liars" star and Patrick J. Adams's wife Irl, played a love interest of her husband's character, Mike Ross, on the series. Portraying lawyer Claire Bowden, Bellisario appeared in several episodes during seasons four and five as Mike's former flame.
We're first introduced to Claire as a legal-clinic intern in a season four flashback scene, where she's seen meeting Mike, a bike messenger. As the two become romantically involved, Mike lies about being a law student to impress Claire, which she later discovers and subsequently breaks things off between them. In the present, Claire returns as the opposing lawyer in Mike's first case as junior partner and quickly finds out he's practicing law illegally. Though Claire nearly reports Mike as a fraud, Rachel Zane (Meghan Markle) ultimately convinces her to keep his secret.

"Suits" may have ended in 2019, but the show has taken on a whole new life (and fan base) since it recently became available to stream on Netflix. The long-running series, which first aired in 2011, ran for a total of nine seasons and inspired the 2019 spinoff series "Pearson." Following Netflix's acquisition of "Suits," viewers flocked to the platform and watched a total of 3.14 billion minutes of the show within its first week on the streamer, surpassing the highly popular Netflix original "Manifest," per The Hollywood Reporter.
"Suits" centers on Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), who, after being expelled from college, fakes his way into working as a lawyer at the fictional New York City corporate law firm Pearson Hardman. Thrust into a world he knows nothing about, Mike must keep his secret while working alongside the best in the industry, including senior partner Harvey Specter...

Like seemingly everyone else on the internet, Aaron Korsh and his preteen daughter are bingeing their way through Suits. They’re almost done with seven of the legal dramedy’s nine seasons, and the daughter is enthralled — a huge relief to the elder Korsh, who, incidentally, created the show.
The series stars Patrick Adams as Mike Ross, a whip-smart college dropout who, mid-drug deal, lands a coveted legal gig working for Gabriel Macht’s Harvey Specter despite not having an actual law degree. Suits, which also counts a pre-royal Meghan Markle among its core cast, originally aired on USA Network from 2011 to 2019. Then, in mid-June of this year, it began streaming on Netflix (in addition to Peacock) and has since exploded in popularity, reigning over the Nielsen streaming charts, where it’s been smashing records for weeks now.

It's hard to believe that a show that ended almost four years ago is delivering this much buzz.
But it shows that some of the most binge-able shows can get a renaissance years after they've ended.
Suits amassed another 3.7 billion minutes viewed across Netflix and Peacock.
A split for the streaming platforms has not been revealed, but the first eight seasons of Suits became available on June 17 on Netflix.
Make of that what you will. Peacock hasn't revealed if having exclusivity over Suits Season 9 has paved the way for a rise in sign-ups.
Suits is killing it for an acquired title, coming in well ahead of streaming original The Lincoln Lawyer (1.28 billion minutes viewed).
The news certainly bodes well for a revival, movie, or reboot, but it's hard to determine whether any of the cast would be interested.
Meghan Markle, who was missing from the last two seasons, probably wouldn't...
