Shakirah DeMesier, Langston Kerman and Cassi Maddox have been added to Hulu’s “The Other Black Girl” as series regulars.
DeMesier will play the young version of Diana, an aspiring author whose book “Burning Heart” is on the edge of becoming a national bestseller. Diana fits in the world no matter the situation, and always has a smile on her face – which tends to leave a strain on her relationship with her best friend, Kendra Rae Phillips.

Photographer Jesse Watson took this jaw-dropping timelapse of the recent December 22nd SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base (as seen from Yuma, Arizona). Watson explains: I scouted four locations that had foregrounds to add depth to the imagery and was uniquely inspiring to my hometown. Location choices were between a favorite local hiking mountain, the Imperial Sand Dunes, or a small hill that resides in the historic downtown area overlooking the city. In a sudden leadership shuffle on Monday that caught insiders by surprise, the board of the fast-rising distributor has appointed Kelly Summers and Scott Guthrie as co-presidents.
Bill Lee has stepped down immediately. The former CEO was the face of the company and presided over its rise as an ambitious multi-platform distributor after he partnered with Virgo Investment Group in August 2014 to buy out previous incarnation Millennium Entertainment.
According to an announcement sent out on behalf of Alchemy on Monday, Lee will continue to consult to Alchemy’s board and investor.
Guthrie will be responsible for leading sales, operations and finance operations while Summers will oversee strategic planning, marketing and production and acquisitions.
Guthrie most recently served as Alchemy’s COO while Summers was svp of strategy and financial planning. Both have extensive studio and entertainment executive experience and will report to chairman of the board Jesse Watson.
