This week Sean and Joe cover the movie that seems to have been made with The Horror Show in mind… or it was just made by a Canadian Body Builder/Rock and Roller on a shoe string budget. Same Difference. They’re looking at the movie that pits an 80’s hair metal band against a bunch of […]...

It's not just X Factor winners who keep us coming back year in, year out, it's the ludicrous novelty acts who make the show so memorable. In the words of Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, "it may be borderline bonkers, but I love that".
But since Louis Walsh's departure from the show, there's been a noticeable lack of novelty fodder. Damn them for employing judges who actually value musical talent over mad outfits and insane dance routines.
So in tribute to the former finalists who may have made us visibly cringe but always smile, here's nine of our favourites, brought to you in association with TalkTalk's new Bopheads app:
1. Wagner (2010)
"On my death bed, I shall remember this moment..."
A 54-year-old, Brazilian-born former lion owner from Dudley, Wagner Carrilho won Sharon Osbourne's heart with his sheer eccentricity at the Judges' Houses.

It's Fright Night on The X Factor this week and boy, wouldn't you know it! Not only are the acts all singing 'Fright Night'-themed songs (or, well, they're supposed to be) but one of them will be booted out before the night is out after Simon Cowell got fed up with them all for not trying hard enough. If that's not all scary enough, The Script will be popping along to perform.
So join us when the show starts at 8pm as we find out who gives us thrills and who gives us chills. And, of course, who's having a right nightmare and will have to leave the competition...

The X Factor 2014 started its Live Shows with a No.1s Week theme. It's almost as if they wanted us to make the obvious joke about there being a large steaming pile of No.2s on the Fountain Studios stage. But we wouldn't be that crass.
It feels too early to be overly harsh about the Class of Series 11 - we've got a couple more months of this to endure yet - and this wasn't the worst crop of X Factor contestants we've ever been gifted. The real problem with this weekend's shows was that it felt like we'd seen it all before. About 10 times before, to be precise.
Simon Cowell couldn't even be bothered to tuck his shirt in on Saturday night's show, which pretty much embodied the shoulder shrug attitude from the producers and judges this year. Will this do? I guess it will have to, because it's this or the bloody Voice.

The X Factor has helped launch the career of dozens of pop acts over the last decade. It has also given us Chico Time. You win some, you lose some.
Here is our definitive ranking of the 15 most ludicrous acts to ever grace Saturday nights on ITV.
15. Rylan
Rylan was already a regular on the reality TV circuit before The X Factor (he was a runner-up in the Sky Living monstrosity Signed By Katie Price), and he was a little bit more knowing and calculated than genuinely bonkers.
However, even if those floods of tears at Nicole Scherzinger's Judges' Houses were staged, they were staged brilliantly. The perfect I'm-mad-me contestant after a decade of near misses.
14. 2 Shoes
Charley Bird and Lucy Texeira were harmless and fairly innocuous as a pop duo. They spoke only in Essex slang ("Roll!") and insisted on calling each other "shoe", but the most ludicrous...

Forget advent calendars, Coca-Cola ads and John Lewis's blooming hare and bear. The one true sign that Christmas is upon us is the arrival of the X Factor final. Someone pass us the eggnog!
Over two nights, viewers will decide this year's champion and whoever they pick from Nicholas McDonald, Sam Bailey or Luke Friend will most likely be this year's Christmas number one.
It hasn't been a vintage year for The X Factor, but we're sure ITV, Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh are planning to pull out all the stops and some final twists to remind us why we come back year after year.
Stick with Digital Spy from 8pm when we'll be covering all the action live.
22:00So here are our X Factor Final 2. Sam Bailey and Nicholas McDonald. Hardly the most inspiring pair of singers, but heck, you voted for them.

Sam Bailey, Luke Friend and Nicholas McDonald. These are our X Factor final three. The most uninspiring bunch of finalists since the grim days of series four, when Rhydian and Leon duked it out to a bore draw.
And even that series had Same Difference to help lighten the mood.
What have we got this year? We'll have to make do with Nicole Scherzinger waffling on about mushrooms and Sam Bailey's "balls".
This weekend's semi-final saw us bid farewell to Rough Copy, the final act in the competition that didn't have the energy levels and personality of a sloth.
Unfortunately, the trio were just a bit too odd for X Factor voters.
From their leather vests, bow-ties and backpack fancy dress combos to the giddy post-performance interviews with Dermot (did anyone think to point out that their "Rc!" chat sounded a lot like "arsey"?), they were never going to...

My favourite X Factor moment has to be 'Gummogate', a kerfuffle that saw Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh quarrelling over American independent cinema. Jamie Archer's rendition of 'Crying' during 2009's Movie Week (c'mon, Simon, have you *really* seen that film?) irked Louis so much he seemed to question the very existence of Harmony Korine's cult oddity. This all leads to the question... has Louis seen Spring Breakers?...

We all know the X Factor is a well-oiled money machine, so it comes as no surprise that the show will release a celebratory Greatest Hits collection to get us buying all of those songs we probably already own.
And it got us thinking: wouldn't it be better value for money to have some songs on the collection that we probably don't already own?
The X Factor has produced some forgotten gems and stellar novelty tracks over the years, so we've listed 10 of the best that didn't make the final tracklist below.
Chico: 'It's Chico Time'
Long before Lucy Spraggan and Ella Henderson wowed audiences with their songwriting efforts, we had Chico and his wristwatch. The track shot straight to number one to become one of the UK's finest novelty blow-outs, so we're a bit miffed it didn't make the compilation. Bonus track, maybe?

"We want to be as big as Take That," said the latest X Factor wannabes Kingsland, before performing in their first audition. It was a bit harsh of the boyband to remind Gary Barlow of his bloated solo career years, but they seemed to get away with it.
Despite sporting preposterous Shoreditch haircuts ("Can I have it big and curly at the front and bonkers around the back and sides please?") and a member who insisted on thrusting his crotch around like a man with a reptile down his chinos, Kingsland were one of the rare highlights from a worryingly weak lineup of X Factor auditionees.
It's only week three, and already the cupboard looks a little bare.
The talent has been so thin on the ground this year, I half expected Blackpool's answer to Jedward (Bledward?), Ryan and Liddia, to get through to the second round.

The penultimate episode of The Big Reunion airs this evening on ITV2 (March 21), and we're already unsure as to how we will cope when 5ive, B*Witched, 911 and co are no longer entertaining us with their dark tales of '90s pop excess.
Abz from 5ive has become a hilarious must-watch figure of fun and the heartbreaking split between B*Witched's Lindsay and 911's Lee has been a weirdly emotional watch. The whole thing has had us digging out our old Live & Kicking magazines and wondering whatever happened to Let Loose.
The show's proved a hit for ITV2, so they're going to need to bring it back in some form in 2014. Digital Spy has five suggestions for Big Reunion spinoffs.

Getting caught lying is an experience I dread – forehead sweating, tongue stumbling, eyes darting every which way searching for some sort of reprieve. Even with the proliferating success of recent television programs acclimating audiences to the association between cringe-worthy situations and comedy, I still find it difficult to see anyone under that unique pressure. Same Difference revels in this, so you can imagine how hard it was for me to read, doing all I could to avert my eyes knowing the story wouldn’t progress unless I did look.
Same Difference is almost entirely about character development, so it’s difficult to discuss the story without spoiling anything. Generally, life, love, and teenage idiocy are touched upon, with perhaps the most powerful themes being reflection and regret.

With images of unbeknown, fresh-faced, pop star wannabes gracing the tabloid front pages and a new wave of Cheryl mania, it can only mean one thing: X Factor 2010 is well underway. Whether you are tuning in to admire Cheryl’s Lbd, lust over Danni’s new do or simply to watch Simon and Louie attack one another’s acts there is no denying that this year’s X Factor will be keeping many of us glued to our tele over the forthcoming Saturday nights.

X Factor stars Same Difference have said that they didn’t receive enough support from show bosses, after the final of the show.
The sibling duo finished third in the fourth series of the TV talent show but felt that they were left high and dry by bosses once they failed to win.

Same Difference star Sean Smith has called the use of Auto-tune on The X Factor "ridiculous". Smith, who reached the final of the ITV1 reality show in 2007, claimed that the vocal alterations in the production process are insulting to viewers and contestants. "To be honest, I thought it was ridiculous. It was pulling the wool over the eyes of the public," he told Digital Spy. "That's the beauty of the show; it's people who are raw at first, then they work with the best in the business and get better and better. "What that's done is steal that away from the show. If people sound great from the start, what's the point? "Also, I think for the people who got Auto-tuned, I'm sure they aren't happy. It gives them a stigma and people will think, 'Ooh, they can't (more)...

Former X Factor finalists Same Difference have claimed that they were forced to mime when they returned to perform their single on the show. The pair, siblings Sarah and Sean Smith, insisted on singing live but were told to mime by show bosses, leading to abuse from fans, according to The Sun. Sarah Smith said: "We sang live from the beginning on The X Factor. But when we came back on to perform our first single we were told we had to mime. Because we'd got a lot of stick from people saying we couldn't sing we really wanted to prove ourselves. "But producers said we had to have our voices really enhanced or mime - 'Or (more)...

Brother and sister act Same Difference have admitted that X Factor bosses forced them to mime, when they returned to perform their single on the show.
Sarah and Sean Smith competed in the 2007 series and finished third behind Leon Jackson and Rhydian Roberts. In 2008 they returned to the ITV show and performed their track “We R One.”
However, they have revealed that despite being desperate to sing live, producers told them that they could either lip synch, or not perform at all.
Sarah told The Sun: “We sang live from the beginning on The X Factor. But when we came back on to perform our first single we were told we had to mime.

X Factor’s John and Edward Grimes have lost their record deal after releasing just one single.
After their debut track ‘Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby)’ failed to claim the number one spot and slipped to number 12 the next week, Sony decided to drop the hyperactive twins.
An insider told The Sun:
“We tried our best to make the lads credible recording artists but punters just weren’t that bothered.
“They are great lads but haven’t got the greatest voices, so they’re something to see rather than listen to.
“Record companies are going through major upheaval so we have to be very careful what we throw our weight behind. I’m sure Jedward will be able to make a buck touring as a novelty act.”
Louis Walsh is standing by the boys and told the newspaper:
“I’m completely committed to Jedward and I know they still have a great career ahead.

Simon Cowell has admitted that there may be no X Factor series on ITV next year. Simon is pushing for ITV to allocate the show an increased budget, so that he can make it bigger and better than ever before. If the channel can’t afford to do it, then Simon says that he is happy to take some time off instead.
Speaking to The News Of The World the 50 year old said:
“The reason we haven’t announced anything for next year is we’re seeing if we can work something out that will allow The X Factor to stay on in the UK for a few more years.
“Everyone is really stretched right now. We need more people working on the show and that costs money.
“There are a lot of people working 18 hours a day, seven days a week trying to keep this show running. We need more people.

Same Difference have claimed that Simon Cowell lost faith in their potential to sell records too quickly. The sibling duo were snapped up by the music mogul's SyCo label in early 2008 after finishing in third place on The X Factor's fourth series. However, the pair discovered that they had been dropped by the label last month following disappointing sales of their debut album Pop and single 'We R One'. Speaking about the decision in an interview with The News, Sean Smith admitted: "We still think there were four or five more great songs on the album that (more)...

Same Difference have been dropped by their record label after disappointing album sales. The duo, comprising siblings Sean and Sarah Smith, have had their contract with SyCo records terminated after their pop career failed to take off. Despite coming third in the 2007 series of The X Factor, their debut album Pop failed to break the Top 20, entering the chart at number 23 last November. Their only single 'We R One' peaked at number 13. "The label sank a lot of money into making them a success - and it didn't work," a source told The Sun. The group (more)...

Leon Jackson has revealed that he is drawing inspiration from Sara Bareilles and James Morrison as he prepares for his forthcoming tour. The X Factor winner will perform across the UK with his former show rivals Same Difference later this year. "It's all about the music for me, and making sure I am doing a good show every night and stay in shape vocally," Jackson told the Daily Record. "I've been watching live music DVDs like John Mayer, especially with the tour coming out and decisions about my set and layout. I've been doing a lot of research, looking at artists like Sara Bareilles because it's an intimate tour, not like a big (more)...

Simon Cowell cut a Louis Walsh lookalike from Same Difference's new pop video because it was "too cheesy". The brother/sister duo wanted to send up their relationship with Walsh, who criticised them repeatedly during their time on The X Factor, in the video for new single 'We R One'. "We had this Louis Walsh-esque grumpy old man in the first cut of the video," group member Sean Smith told Digital Spy. "He's standing there saying, 'What's happening here?' I want all these kids off my car lot!' "Then he (more)...

Same Difference have claimed that Louis Walsh enjoys dancing to their music.
