Same Showrunners with New Writers/Directors
The success of the first season of The Last of Us meant the return of showrunner Craig Mazin, best known for HBO’s acclaimed Chernobyl as well as writing the less-than-acclaimed The Hangover Part II and Part III as well as Scary Movie 3 and 4. Mazin worked on the second season alongside game creator Neil Druckmann and new writers Hailey Gross and Bo Shim.

Last weekend, Pedro Pascal won the fan vote to take the Male TV Star of the Year trophy at the People’s Choice Awards for his role as Joel in HBO’s The Last Of Us. Six days later, he won the vote of his peers to land the SAG Award for Male Actor In a Drama Series, his first major industry recognition.
Having lost out to Succession’s Kieran Culkin at previous awards shows this season, Pascal looked stunned when his name was called.
“This is wrong for a number of reasons,” he said onstage. “I am a little drunk. I thought I could get drunk.” (You can watch his speech above.)
Later in the press room, Pascal revealed he drank tequila and confirmed that he was “genuinely surprised” by the win, which made him tear up with his publicists backstage.

The Patient (FX) The Patient
Most episodes of FX’s The Patient stick with the perspective of Steve Carell’s Alan Strauss, a therapist held captive by a serial killer portrayed by Domhnall Gleeson. But in the seventh episode, “Kaddish,” the camera zooms out. As Alan says the Jewish prayer of mourning for both his dead wife and himself, director Gwyneth Horder-Payton photographs Carell through a rain-stained window in the basement room where he’s imprisoned.
“It just felt like the time to pull back the cameras and observe this human being in his own misery,” says executive producer Chris Long.
Backlit by light pouring in through glass bricks, Carell stands solemnly holding a piece of paper his captor printed out for him with the words of the kaddish. It’s an emotionally fraught moment, but Long and creators Joe Weisberg and Joel Fields thought it best to leave the character in his loneliness.

We are living in the Golden Age of Television… I.P. Whether it’s NBC rebooting “Night Court” or Netflix reliving “That 90’s Show,” intellectual property is the name of the game. Heck, “The Lord of the Rings” can’t even finish one reboot before the next comes along. Viewers are so inundated with old ideas rehashed into something new, they may not even notice how thoroughly I.P. has infiltrated their entertainment. Marvel comics were adapted into Marvel movies, which were extended into Marvel TV shows, which were then connected back to Marvel movies, which, by then, were incorporating old Marvel actors right alongside new Marvel actors — both playing the same role. I’m not even sure that winding, snakelike sentence holds together, but the point remains: We’re hearing the same stories about the same people over and over and over again. Hollywood has found a way to turn ouroboros into pure profit.

Wallace Langham has signed on to the cast of “Perry Mason” Season 2 at HBO.
Langham joins a cast that includes returning series star Matthew Rhys as well as Juliet Rylance, Chris Chalk, Diarra Kilpatrick, and Eric Lange among many others.
In Season 2, months after the end of the Dodson trial, Perry’s (Rhys) moved off the farm, ditched the milk truck, he’s even traded his leather jacket for a pressed suit. It’s the worst year of the Depression, and Perry and Della (Rylance) have set the firm on a safer path pursuing civil cases instead of the tumultuous work that criminal cases entail. Unfortunately, there isn’t much work for Paul (Chalk) in wills and contracts, so he’s been out on his own. An open-and-closed case overtakes the city of Los Angeles, and Perry’s pursuit of justice reveals that not everything is always as it seems.

Hey, "Agents Of Shield" fans. We hope you guys enjoyed tonight's episode 11. Now that it has come and gone, it's time to go over a few plotlines that will take place in the next, new episodes 12 and 13. These are the season 6 finale episodes, and ABC has indeed decided to air them back to back on the same night. We've got a brief teaser description from ABC for this season finale set of episodes. So, we'll be referencing those for this spoiler session. To get things started, we've got a title for both of these finale episodes. Episode 12 is called, "The Sign" and episode 13 is titled, "New Life." It sounds like these episodes will feature more crazy action, adventure, danger and intrigue. The Shield crew will, once again, be running very short on time to get what they need to get done in these episodes. At some point, the crew will...

The Purge reveals a hero. Or the closest thing to it.
This The Purge review contains spoilers.
The Purge Episode 6
From the opening of "The Forgotten," it's established pretty strongly that one of the forgotten figures in the episode is Joe. When he's not hiding behind a faceless metal mask, he's living a faceless existence. His father is dying. He works in a factory, a dying industry in America's dying manufacturing sector. He's divorced, eating bologna sandwiches out of a lunch box. He's well-liked among his coworkers, but his most recent date stood him up. In short, Joe is anonymous, as blank and plain as the steel mask he manufactured himself.
Except on Purge Night. During the Purge, Joe is a hero, saving those who can't save themselves. He travels around in an anonymous van, wearing his anonymous mask, but playing the role of the masked savior,...

The CW has released the official description for the March 28th episode of The Flash, and it teases big things to come for the Fastest Man Alive. For starters, more is revealed about the planned debut of Abra Kadabra, a villain we recently learned will be played by Ant-Man star David Dastmalchian.
It’s confirmed here that he does indeed hail from the future and that’s somehow given him knowledge of who Savitar really is. That may play into fan theories that the self-proclaimed God of Speed doesn’t actually hail from the past or present and that he may actually be a transformed Barry Allen.
We’ll obviously have to wait and see if that proves to be the case, but here’s the synopsis for this episode of The Flash, which is appropriately titled “Abra Kadabra.

Last week I did a review on the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode "Wake Up" and one of our vigilant readers (Randomironicname) reflected on the status of Patton Oswalt's characters, Agents Sam, Billy, and the deceased Eric Koenig, and wondered if they were actually LMDs (Life Model Decoys) or simply just siblings. Sure enough, one week later, Agents will focus on them in the episode called "Hot Potato Soup". Check out the trailer and synopsis below the link!

The CW has offered this first look at next week’s brand new episode of Supernatural, which is titled “Red Meat.” Oddly enough, it features the same narration as the trailer for the previous episode, “Safe House,” that speaks rather ominously of Amara/The Darkness.
Granted, that episode’s trailer dropped when the show was going on a month long hiatus and it is not uncommon for those of that variety to tease multiple upcoming episodes, but considering that we are being offered the same Amara tease, we can only hope there is some kind of payoff next week.
As for the content of the episode that we do know about, expect to see Sam and Dean once again go up against werewolves. While these creatures do not recur as much as vampires seem to on the show, I’m usually pleasantly surprised to see how the folks in the...
