When Is Insidious 6 Coming? Well, the Insidious franchise has reached its fifth installment with Insidious: The Red Door, concluding the current storyline involving the Lambert family.
Although news about Insidious 6 may not be imminent, there are significant plans in motion for the future of the series.
Director James Wan experienced tremendous success with the release of Insidious in 2011, introducing audiences to the haunting experiences of the Lambert family, led by Josh and Renai, portrayed by Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne, respectively.
The ongoing presence of spirits tormenting the family, particularly their son Dalton, played by Ty Simpkins, captivated viewers.
While the third and fourth films explored different narratives outside of the Lambert family, Insidious 5 returned to the familiar setting.
Throughout the entire franchise, two crucial elements have served as the connecting threads: the demonologist and paranormal investigator Elise Rainier, portrayed by Lin Shaye, and the eerie spiritual realm known as the Further.

Director Erik Bloomquist (Ten Minutes to Midnight, Long Lost) is back with slasher throwback She Came from the Woods, which is headed home this weekend.
After being released in theaters earlier this year, She Came from the Woods is now slashing its way onto Tubi on Saturday, June 10. Check out a gallery of exclusive character posters below, along with the previously released trailer for the 1980s-style summer camp slasher.
In She Came from the Woods, “A group of counselors unleashes a decades-old evil, long buried secrets, and bloody mayhem on the last night of summer camp in 1987.”
Matt Donato wrote in his review for Bloody Disgusting, “Even as a warmup act to the heavy hitters worshiped by slasher fans since the dawn of internet forums, She Came from the Woods stands its ground as an example of how no subgenre is dead with the proper approach.”

Diverse festival notables from Hannah Ha Ha to The Blue Caftan join a spattering of specialty horror titles led by Consecration, and the U.S. theatrical debut of Gaspar Noé’s controversial Irréversible: Straight Cut.
The last is presented by Altered Innocence, whose owner Frank Jaffe spoke with Deadline about why he wanted to give Noe’s unusual 2019 director’s cut — of the Argentinian/French director’s disturbing 2002 film Irreversible — a release Stateside. “It’s a film that needs to be seen. Or made available,” he said. StudioCanal approached him twice. “They said, ‘No one is brave enough to take on this film. Will you?’” And “there is an audience for it…Tickets are selling.”
Jaffe said he first watched Irreversible, or tried to, via Netflix mail order DVD when he was 14. “My dad made me turn it off halfway through.”

Erik Bloomquist's horror flick, She Came From The Woods, is in cinemas today and we have a clip to share with you in case you need any more coaxing to check it out. It's a short one but involves taking out a camper with a homerun swing for the fences. That's a win in our books. Check it out below. She Came From The Woods, the latest genre flick from Erik Bloomquist (Ten Minutes to Midnight). The horror film, releasing only in theaters on February 10th, stars Cara Buono (Stranger Things), William Sadler (Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey), Spencer List (Fringe), and Clare Foley (Sinister). A film that “perfectly pays homage to the classics and cult favorites of the early years of the...

If you didn’t know Erik Bloomquist’s She Came from the Woods loves the 80s like Pac-Man loves Mrs. Pac-Man, the first few minutes should sell a tubular on-screen time warp. Hormonal camp counselors in short shorts prepare for summer’s end while Kim Wilde’s “Kids In America” blares over opening credits like any other Camp Crystal Lake or Camp Arawak copycat. Bloomquist imbues a love of 80s sleepaway horror titles into a contemporary take on Friday the 13th, The Burning, Madman — some titles are even name-dropped in dialogue. It’s hardly a modern satire like Cabin in the Woods but avoids feeling redundant through recreations of golden-age genre magic that’s gone out of style. There’s a passionate attempt to prove life can find new ways in a decade’s old slasher formula, and She Came from the Woods keeps the beat(ings) alive for now.

In his Frightfest review, James Doherty wrote that She Came from the Woods is a "fun and entertaining campfire tale," and as someone who saw the movie as part of last year's Popcorn Frights Film Festival lineup, I can concur that the latest film from director Erik Bloomquist (Ten Minutes to Midnight) definitely scratches that summer camp slasher itch. Ahead of the film's February 10th theatrical release from Mainframe Pictures, the official trailer has now been released, giving viewers a look at the horrors unleashed at Camp Briarbrook, set fittingly to the tune of Kim Wilde's ’80s anthem "Kids in America."

"Let's try not to die tonight." Mainframe Pictures has revealed an official trailer for an indie horror comedy titled She Came from the Woods, opening in limited US theaters starting in February soon. It first premiered at FrightFest last year, but didn't hit any other fests in the fall. In this ode to '80s slasher horror, a group of dumb camp counselors accidentally unleash a decades' old evil on the last night of summer camp. As the mayhem and madness turn bloody, the staff of "Camp Briarbrook" are forced to confront what stories are worth telling and what secrets worth keeping. The horror comedy stars Cara Buono (from Stranger Things), William Sadler (Bill & Ted), Spencer List, Clare Foley, Michael Park, Tyler Elliot Burke, Adam Weppler, Ehad Berisha, Giselle Torres, and Dań Leahy. This looks, ahem, campy and not that scary but fun, another throwback riff on 1980s horror...

Director Erik Bloomquist’s horror film She Came from the Woods is set to reach theatres on February 10th – tickets are already available for purchase at Regal, AMC, and Harkins – and to help you decide whether or not this is a movie you’d like to check out on the big screen, we have the trailer embedded above. The film stars Cara Buono of Stranger Things – and just like Stranger Things, She Came from the Woods is set in the 1980s. Buono also had a role in the Let the Right One In remake Let Me In, which was set in the ’80s as well. Genre projects keep taking her back to that decade.

A mysterious figure terrorises a camp full of teenagers in She Came From the Woods, a supernatural horror from director Erik Bloomquist, who also co-wrote the script with his brother, Carson Bloomquist. Creepy, suspenseful and suitably gory, it’s a genre-savvy throwback to the summer camp slasher genre.
Set in 1987 (so no pesky mobile phones), the film takes place during the last night of the summer holiday at Camp Briarbrook, run by kindly Gilbert McAlister (William Sadler) his adult daughter Heather (Cara Buono) and her two teenage sons, irresponsible Peter (Spencer List) and sensible Shawn (Tyler Elliot Burke).
When Peter persuades the other teen volunteers to perform a ghost story ritual (a ridiculously simple one – prick your finger and shout “Agatha!”), he...

A major Batman villain is coming to “Batwoman.” Bridget Regan has been cast as Poison Ivy on The CW’s series.
Bridget Regan will play the iconic DC Comics supervillain, who will be a recurring guest star.
Here is how The CW describes their take on Ivy:

But her plans shifted when she was experimented on by a colleague, injected with various plant toxins which turned her into the infamous Batman villain Poison Ivy. Kim (Clare Foley) is 17. The child of a troubled young mother, she’s been raised by her Uncle Kurt (Doug Tompos) with help from the neighbours, and she’s never really felt loved. At school she faces the same casual hostility and exclusion that many viewers will be familiar with themselves. She gets by doing her own thing, but part of her longs to fit in. Then, one day, something strange happens to the people around her. One by one, their personalities seem to change, and she realises that, if she wanted to, she could be a part of that too.

Clare Foley on the set of The Changed
She’s one of the most exciting actresses of her generation, having burst onto the screen in 2012 as the little girl in Sinister and gone on to play Ivy Pepper in Gotham, as well as making appearances in Mistress America, Southpaw, Every Secret Thing and Orange Is The New Black. Now she’s starring in Michael Mongillo’s sinister tale of a group of people holding out against an existential threat, The Changed. In the run-up to its screening at Frightfest, I caught up with Clare Foley to find out how she managed to dodge the usual child actor trajectory and do so much interesting work.
The changed wait outside the house
“When I was in fourth grade, I got the role in Sinister, and after that I just had such a love for doing horror movies,” she says with a bright smile.

An alien intelligence has merged with their neighbour, Bill (Tony Todd), setting into motion a desperate struggle for the survival of humanity. Soon, the entire city is overwhelmed by the inhuman horror of the changed, but it won’t stop there! And the trio cross every line imaginable to save themselves from the horde of body snatchers gathering outside their suburban home.

Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) premiered this weekend to critical praise, being called “a fun, madcap, and insane ride” with “highly stylized” visuals and several excellent performances on its way to earning a 92% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Taking a cue from Deadpool’s record-breaking first outing, Birds of Prey features the fourth-wall smashing narration of its lead character along with a non-linear storyline, and functions as a spinoff of David Ayer’s 2016 antihero team-up film Suicide Squad with the return of Margot Robbie as former-psychiatrist-turned-Joker-devotee Harleen Quinzel and a minuscule cameo by at least one of her other teammates from Waller’s first incarnation of Task Force X.
Harley Quinn is also set to return, along with Amanda Waller, Rick Flag and Digger Harkness, in James Gunn’s official standalone sequel The Suicide Squad in August of 2021, but Birds of Prey director Cathy Yan...

Right now, it looks like Poison Ivy is quickly becoming Gotham‘s equivalent of James Bond insofar that she’s being continuously recast. As you should remember, Clare Foley played a much younger version of the character – Ivy Pepper – beginning with the pilot episode, before being aged up via sci-fi means at the start of season 3. And with that passing of the torch came Maggie Geha, who’s done a fine job in the time since.
Geha, who was billed as a series regular for the duration of season 3, actually ended up being criminally underused and has since been demoted to “guest star” in season 4. Now, the latest word to come down says that she’s unfortunately out, and that Peyton List is in.
Here’s what Gotham‘s producers had to say about this bold move:

Gotham is itching to give Poison Ivy another extreme makeover.
TVLine has learned that Fox’s DC drama has tapped Peyton List (Frequency, The Flash) to take over the role of Ivy Pepper/aka Poison Ivy.
List is the third actress to play the role, following Maggie Geha (who took over a year ago) and Clare Foley (who originated it in the pilot). Update: Geha in fact offered this farewell of sorts hours after List’s casting was reported:

She Said/She Said is a (sporadically) daily video featuring HitFix Harpy Donna Dickens and HitFix Weekend Editor Jill Pantozzi discussing current events in geek news. ******************* This past Monday, Gotham premiered its third season on Fox. “Better To Reign In Hell” set up the this year’s premise which seems to be “Why can’t we hold all these villains?” as the Indian Hill escapees are still on the loose. It was also the last time (probably) that will see Clare Foley’s version of Ivy Pepper, as her character took an unexpected dip. Based on the behind-the-scenes featurette put out by Fox, we won’t have to wonder about Ivy’s fate for long. But in case you haven’t been keeping up with the intricacies of Gotham casting, Foley has been outed as Ivy in favor of actress Maggie Geha. The idea was Poison Ivy is supposed to...

Much has been made about the drastic changes made to the character Ivy Pepper in Fox's Gotham. The writers and producers just made the decision to age her up from an adolescent teen to a fully grown woman and, as such, have recast her, and they've also added more comic book elements to the character. While she began her life on Gotham as Ivy Pepper, a youthful reimagining of the classic villain, the show runners have now decided to turn her into full-on Poison Ivy for this third season.
A new featurette from Gotham shows off the transformation, and gives us some idea of what we can expect. You'll see that at the start of the video she's played by Clare Foley and by the end it's Maggie Geha inhabiting the role.

The season 3 premiere of Gotham saw Ivy Pepper (Clare Foley) go for a little dip, and the character is set to return to the city during next week's installment looking very different. Ivy's body may have aged, but is she still the same shy teenager inside? Well, yes and no: “Little Ivy has been changed, she’s been morphed into big Ivy via one of Professor Strange’s monster creations," actress Maggie Geha explains in the video below. "Ivy doesn’t really know what happened to her; she doesn’t even really know if it’s a dream, but she likes it." Tune in to see Miss Pepper continue her slightly creepy journey to becoming the villainous Poison Ivy next Monday. Without a doubt, one of the most discussed aspects of the third season of Gotham has to be that of the Poison Ivy switch. I’m well aware that some viewers are confused as to the specifics of the change, but it’s actually quite simple to explain: The young Ivy we have come to know (Clare Foley) has been aged several years due to the touch of an Indian Hill “monster” who acts as a sort of reverse fountain of youth. Thus, we are introduced to an adult Ivy played by the up and coming Maggie Geha.
Thankfully, Fox has released a featurette that further explores this new dynamic, as several members of the cast and crew discuss what we can expect from one of Gotham City’s deadliest femme fatales. Geha herself lent some insight with the following statement:

Fox’s Batman prequel series, Gotham, has gradually become more and more fantasy-based as it’s moved towards its third season, introducing various characters and storylines which draw influence from the superpower-infused DC comic books. Arguably the most out-there season 3 addition is a more mature incarnation of Poison Ivy (Maggie Geha), who will replace Clare Foley’s younger “Ivy Pepper.”
In a recent interview with THR, producer Ken Woodruff explains the decision to reintroduce the more comic-accurate take on Ivy to the show:
The character Ivy in the comics, one of her greatest powers is the power of seduction. Everyone was much more comfortable with that with an older actress as opposed to a teenager. We want to explore that classic, canonical power of Ivy. And we didn’t just make her older with that attack. When she’s changed and transformed, there’s a real character change as well.

In an interesting twist for fans of Fox's Gotham, Ivy Pepper has undergone a transformation for the show's third season. For starters, she's no longer played by 14-year-old Clare Foley. The part has been taken over by Maggie Geha, who's 28. Aside from that, she's also had something of an attitude adjustment. While the physical transformation is more obvious, Gotham's producers have shed some light on one of the more tactical and strategic reasons that they decided to change things up for Ivy.

In storyline terms, Ivy was touched by one of Fish Mooney's (Jada Pinkett Smith) monsters and that caused her to transform. But behind the scenes it sounds like the producers wanted to make the change so that they could take advantage of one of Poison Ivy's most potent weapons from the comics: Seduction.

With less than three weeks to go until Gotham begins its third season, vital details continue to pour in. The latest comes in the form of the premiere episode’s synopsis that also divulges its foreboding title: “Mad City: Better to Reign in Hell…”
Aside from sharing that name with a great song by Cradle of Filth, fans of classic literature will recognize it from John Milton’s Paradise Lost, with the full quote being, “Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven.” Seeing as how villains will continue to run roughshod over the city until a certain Caped Crusader lays claim to the night, that title seems consistent with recent news regarding the upcoming season’s tone.
Something interesting to note in the synopsis is the absence of Maggie Geha as the aged up Poison Ivy. Clare Foley is the only one listed to be playing that character,...

Gotham is a bit of an odd duck in the Dceu. The show is situated on Fox, isolating it from the larger ‘Arrow-verse’ on The CW. This isn’t a bad thing, as one of the joys of DC not interconnecting their film and television universes opens the door to a varied multiverse experience. But even within the microcosm that is Gotham, some odd choices have been made. Choosing to hew closely to Bat-lore is fine, but when that makes Bruce Wayne a high school freshman and a majority of his future foes already adults, it feels wonky. The only future members of the rogues’ gallery on Gotham the same age as our larval-stage Batman were Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova) and Ivy Pepper (Clare Foley). But now even Ivy is leaving childhood in the dust. For Season 3 of Gotham, Poison Ivy has been recast. The new actress, Maggie Geha, is...

Gotham has decided to move in a different direction with Poison Ivy. They have recast the character with an actress who will play an older version of the character. We reported on the controversial recasting of Gotham's Poison Ivy in which young actor Clare Foley was set to be replaced by someone older in order to let Ivy's canonical sexuality take a place on the show. Maggie Geha, who's had small roles on 30 Rock and in Ted 2, has just been cast in that role. When the news broke, some were holding out for an all-new Poison Ivy considering the character on the show is known as Ivy Pepper and not the DC Comics character name of Pamela Isley, but that's not the case.
