- Her novel, "Jane", was optioned several times by film companies without ever being turned into a film. Joseph L. Mankiewicz spent a long time writing a screenplay based on it, and planned to direct it, but the project was finally deemed too costly. This was probably Mankiewicz's final film work, the last of several aborted projects after his final movie, "Sleuth".
