Just from glancing at this film’s title you might think that you’re in for another frothy “rom-com”, or perhaps a peppy teen comedy that ends with a “make-over’ montage prior to a jubilant dance number at the senior prom. Well, you’d be mistaken, maybe pleasantly mistaken. Though one name is mentioned in its title, this sweet little “indie” flick really concerns that lady and her older sister, Bianca, who’s found her fella’. She’s the one playing “cupid”, a challenge since her sis’ must deal with many, many challenges. This tale is a search for romance, but also a love story of these young women, a relationship that is tested when Jane Wants A Boyfriend.
As the film begins, Bianca (Eliza Dushku) is in the last days of rehearsal as the fairy queen Titania in a big new stage production of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night...

The little sitcom that caused a lot of controversy last summer has quietly ended its run. NBC has cancelled Outsourced after one season on the air.
Outsourced follows a Us sales manager, Todd Dempsey (Ben Rappaport), who's assigned to supervise his company's call center in India. The sitcom also stars Anisha Nagarajan, Diedrich Bader, Parvesh Cheena, Pippa Black, Rebecca Hazelwood, Rizwan Manji, and Sacha Dhawan.
The NBC sitcom started out decently and it looked like NBC might have a keeper on its hands. Last September, Outsourced debuted to a 3.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.49 million viewers. In week two, the demo number fell 22% to a 2.8 rating and 5.85 million viewers but that was still pretty healthy by NBC standards.

Each year we are saddened when some of our favorite TV shows go off the air and we feel as though we've lost a friend. But as the cycle of TV life goes, new shows come to replace them, introducing us to different characters and bringing us unknown playmates. 2010 was a good year for new friends. Here's our list of our latest favorite TV personalities (real and fake).
10. Madhuri from Outsourced
We admit it. We didn't get Outsourced the first few times we watched it. We thought it was trying a bit too hard and felt a little forced. We also didn't latch on to any of the characters. But over time the show has found its groove and we are starting to relate to the personalities. And we are especially developing a real soft spot for Madhuri (played by Anisha Nagarajan) who is so shy she can't be heard.

It’s winter break, you guys. You know what that means, don’t you?
A month of repeats, that’s what.
Yes, as much as winter break signifies rest and rejuvenation for the college student population of America, it’s all about boredom and monotony in the television world. Sure, a few cable reality shows are still going on and the occasional scripted show, but for the most part, we’re out of luck until the first week of the new year at the earliest. But don’t fret, TV fans, as there is plenty of good stuff to tide you over during the blizzards and endless holiday specials.
Here are five shows that you would do well in catching up on/completing during the holiday break:
Freaks & Geeks (NBC)
How many episodes: 18

In addition to these episodes, NBC will also be airing a DreamWorks animation special entitled Scared Shreckless on October 28 new Office webisodes will feature the “Making of Ryan’s Horror Film” starting on October 21.

NBC's new sitcom Outsourced premiered on September 23 to mixed reviews. Apparently the network has high hopes for the show, adding it to its what use to be known as the "Must See TV" Thursday night line-up. The traditional hit-making comedy block was the Peacock's plume in the '90s with shows like Friends, The Cosby Show, Cheers, Frasier, Seinfeld, and Will & Grace.
So Outsourced has big shoes to fill, wedged between current tried and true NBC ratings-winners like Community, 30 Rock, The Office, and The Apprentice. It should get a built in audience, but the jury is still out on whether they will become loyal fans or just bide their time until Parks and Recreation returns in January.
We think Outsourced is worth a shot. It definitely has a new spin on the workplace sitcom—a company that has moved its call center to Mumbai, India.

It's not often that a new show gets some people so angry before it even airs but NBC's new TV show, Outsourced, certainly rubs some people the wrong way. Did that hurt the ratings? Will it be quickly cancelled or become a long-term staple of NBC's Thursday night line-up?
Outsourced follows a Us sales manager, Todd Dempsey (Ben Rappaport), who's assigned to supervise his company's call center in India. The new sitcom also stars Anisha Nagarajan, Diedrich Bader, Parvesh Cheena, Pippa Black, Rebecca Hazelwood, Rizwan Manji, and Sacha Dhawan.
Some people have expressed resentment over the show's theme, especially considering this country's struggling economy and unemployment problem. Others maintain that the show's intent is to show how offices are the same, regardless of where they're located.

I didn’t have high expectations going into Outsourced, I’ll admit, based on the universally tepid reaction of critics and the fact that a friend of mine who is brown like me, with parents who came from India like mine, said her cousin cried after watching the promo. Yes, cried! But I tried to clear all that from my mind as I sat down to watch the pilot episode last night.
And, score a point (or maybe half a point?) for Outsourced, no tears fell from my eyes as I watched the one-dimensional quirks play out: the Indian men...

After the seamless 90 minutes of laughter, smiling and general contentment with the state of the TV universe you get NBC's block of "Community," "30 Rock" and "The Office," the comedown with "Outsourced" can feel quite jarring.
The network's only new submission to the comedy canon this fall, "Outsourced" follows a young professional named Todd (Ben Rappaport) to an Mumbai call center, when his company -- a manufacturer of American novelty gifts -- downsizes and moves its operation to India. Todd, already dealing with the culture shock of a move abroad, has to school a ragtag group of employees on the nuances of American pop culture while they try to sell whoopee cushion and fake vomit.
As you might expect, the results are pretty offensive, but not even for their obvious racial and cultural ignorance. It's the laziness with which every element of this show was assembled that makes "Outsourced" such an...

In order to keep his job, Todd is left no choice but to relocate to India. Chicago – The broadcast network rookie class of 2009 was one of the best of all time with “Community,” “Glee,” “Modern Family,” “The Good Wife,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “The Middle,” and “Cougar Town” finding loyal fans. Even relative (and mostly canceled) missteps like “FlashForward,” “V,” “Mercy,” and “Melrose Place” were interesting disasters. Will the upcoming season continue the pattern or drop the broadcast nets back into the misery of being unable to find a new hit?
Don’t get your hopes up. Having seen at least rough cuts of all of the new programs except for the still-in-production “Law & Order: Los Angeles,” we can say without a doubt that this upcoming freshmen class will not produce the same number of all-stars as last year. Even the majority of the ten shows below are going to require some tinkering to stand out. It should be noted that most of what we’ve seen...

You've probably already heard of "Outsourced," NBC's latest addition to its Thursday sitcom block, but not for the best reasons. It swiped the "30 Rock" timeslot and bumped "Parks and Recreation" to midseason. Clearly, the culprit warrants a closer look.

The Fall TV Season presentations for all the new network shows take place this week with the first announced today. Here's a full breakdown of which concepts have made the final list over on NBC.
While the Peacock has struggled in recent years, those were like a cakewalk compared to this past season as the network became a very public punching bag over the debacle of its 10pm Jay Leno show experiment, the Leno/Conan media wars, and ultimately the general failure of its shows which all struggled in the ratings - most visibly its two new medical dramas and the once proud "Heroes".
By the end of the season the only real success stories to talk about were the network's well-regarded but not spectacularly-rated Thursday night comedy block (Community, 30 Rock, Office), and "Chuck" which only just got renewed last season and is proving to be one of the network's...
