Amy Grant has some great news for fans, announcing Wednesday that she’s set to release a new single that represents her first new music in 10 years.
Appearing on the March 1 edition of “Today”, in which Craig Melvin interviewed her at her home, the six-time Grammy winner announced the impending release of “Trees We’ll Never See”, the first of two new tracks.
“Trees We’ll Never See” was written by Marshall Altman, who produced Grant’s How Mercy Looks From Here album, and Michael White; a second single was also recorded, and will be released later in the spring.

Nearly a decade has passed since Amy Grant last released a complete solo studio album of original music. The past ten years have been littered with compilation records, holiday albums, and remastered releases of her projects dating back to the eighties. In the meantime, the Christian singer has continued touring, that is, until she sustained a concussion and brain injuries following a biking accident in July 2022, forcing her to cancel a slate of shows.

There’s a lyric in “The Overthrow” on Will Hoge’s new album Tiny Little Movies in which the unwavering singer-songwriter spits out a perfect pop-culture description of our clown-painted, misogynistic Dear Leader: he’s “Darth Vader with a spray tan/and a girly magazine.”
“That one’s not getting played on country radio,” Hoge deadpans.
But the truth is the Nashville native has never been a part of that system. While he scored a Grammy nomination and earned some mailbox money when Eli Young Band turned his song “Even...

Roots musician Christian Lopez has previously displayed such influences in his original work from heartland rock to the synthesizer-driven tunes of the Cars. But Lopez’s acoustic version of John Prine’s “That’s the Way the World Goes Round” from the songwriter’s 1978 Bruised Orange LP, gives the West Virginia native an ideal spotlight for his intensely soulful, wise-beyond-his-24-years vocals.
Shot by the Nashville-based photojournalist and videographer known as Crackerfarm, the clip emphasizes Lopez’s expressive interpretation of a song that was famously covered by Miranda Lambert a...

Before packing up their acoustic guitars and making the 2,000-mile move to Nashville, Fairground Saints played their earliest shows in California. Formed in Santa Barbara, the trio carved out a sound that nodded to their homeland’s rich musical past, from the layered harmonies echoing throughout the hills of Laurel Canyon to the classic twang of Dwight Yoakam, Buck Owens and other Golden State songwriters.

The first No. 1 single is a celebrated milestone for any artist, but for Frankie Ballard, the second one is even sweeter.
"It's so exciting to have your first No. 1 song and you're like, 'Wow,' I just can't believe this is actually happening,' [but] there's a little voice in the back of your head that's like, 'What if this is the only time I'm ever going to get to experience this?'"

After opening for acts like Kenny Chesney and Lady Antebellum, Ballard broke out on country radio with "Helluva Life" in 2014. The song became his first bona fide hit single and went all the way to No. 1 on the country charts. When "Sunshine & Whiskey" followed suit months later, Ballard breathed a huge sigh of relief.
