If you’ve been keeping up with Marvel, you know they always have something big up their sleeve. This December, they’re gearing up to blow our minds once more with the release of ‘Timeless’ #1. It’s not just any release – it marks the third year of the special year-ending one-shot that sets up what’s next in the Marvel Universe.
Imagine a bleak future where only one superhero remains. That’s right, just one. His name? Power Man. But don’t let the lone figure fool you. This isn’t a world empty of threats. Far from it. An ancient evil has risen, and he goes by the name Immortal Moon Knight. Made from a cocktail of StarkTech, the Eternal Machine, and the God of the Moon, he’s a force to be reckoned with.

When Worf makes his entrance into the third season of Star Trek: Picard, he does so in a flurry of bat’leth and blood. Brutally killing the Ferengi Sneed to rescue Picard’s associate Raffi, Worf enters in a manner becoming of a Klingon warrior. But then, his mood suddenly changes from one of bloodlust to one of enlightened calm, even going so far as to offer Raffi a cup of tea. Clearly, a lot has happened to the Son of Mogh since his time on The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine. And while the penultimate episode of Picard hints toward some of those years (“That was not my fault”), many questions remain.
A new comic book series from Idw gives us a glimpse of Worf’s life directly after the Dominion War. Star Trek: Defiant is a spin-off from the Star Trek universe comics at Idw, spearheaded by...

Been a while since I last checked in on a Captain America book, mainly because there’s so much other stuff going on comics-wise Cap’s become old news. No new Captain America movie/tv stuff (not including Sam Wilson of course) means Marvel’s been putting most of its efforts elsewhere. This, then, was a welcome sight. A shiny new number one, a shiny new creative team, and the promise of a shiny new approach Throw in some fantastic covers for this launch issue, and it was an easy sell for me. An easy sell to pick up of course, but the proof is always in the pudding.
Let’s take a look.
We open in quite the attention-grabbing way. First, a 12-panel page showing the forging of Cap’s shield from 1941, which raises a question or two,...

Kang has always been one of those villains that should be an absolute A-lister, right up there with Loki, Doctor Doom, Magneto and Kingpin. For some reason or other, he’s never quite got there. Sure he’s been a regular down the years, popping up in usually very entertaining stories, mainly in The Avengers and Fantastic Four books. He’s always been a cult favourite, but I suspect his pretty convoluted origin has something to do with that. Kang was originally meant to be a descendant of Doctor Doom when first created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. He was Rama-Tut, then an alternate universe Nathaniel Richards, then Immortus, Iron Lad, Scarlet Centurion and so on…. A lot to take in. Still, time travel is always fun, and I’ve always loved Kang’s costume.

The final year of the starship Enterprise’s five-year mission has long been speculated about, but never before been given such descriptive and reverential treatment as in Idw’s Star Trek: Year Five, a comic written by Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly. Yet, it too must come to an end as the intrepid crew of The USS Enterprise complete their final year of exploration in this true-to-The-Original-Series story that wraps up this summer. Den of Geek was able to sit down with Lanzing and Kelly to talk about the journey, its challenges, and how they managed to bring the Enterprise home in this epic comic series that gives the final year of James T. Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise’s mission the proper examination it deserved.
“I’m happy to have finally landed the ship,” Lanzing tells us, before continuing in a bittersweet tone: “I’m sad.

Idw Publishing is launching a comic book series that will tell the story of the end of Kirk's original five-year mission.
The original Star Trek TV series followed Captain Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise on a five-year mission to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, and to boldly go where no man has gone before. Unfortunately, the show was canceled after three seasons, which means we never got a proper look at how that mission ended.
Now, we will.
According to THR, Idw Publishing is launching a comic book series called Star Trek: Year Five, which will explore the end of Kirk and company's first five-year mission. The series will explore the crew's feelings about the end of their mission and their return to Earth.

Welcome back to another installment of Panel Discussion – this time featuring a rundown of my picks of the Top 50 comics released in April 2018. This is part one, a countdown of books 50-26… But first the caveats:
First and foremost this is simply my list and with that comes a great deal of subjectivity. Any art form is a subjective medium and taste plays a major role. So if you feel my rankings are way off you probably have a legitimate point. My hope is to simply to highlight great books that deserve attention. We too often focus on the negative so why not take some time to celebrate the positive.
Since this is my list that also means I can only rank issues I have actually read. There may be a book that is in your top five that does not make the cut. Please let me know. I try...

Since this is my list that also means I can only rank issues I have actually read. There may be a book that is in your top five that does not make the cut. Please let me know. I try...

With characters such as Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn currently enjoying so much mainstream popularity, we could say that today’s news couldn’t have come at a more opportune time, but let’s be honest, female heroes and villains have been on an upswing in the comic book medium in recent years – it’s just that the perfect storm that’s happened to come together certainly helped matters.
What’s more is that we should all be amazed by how the collectibles market is influencing what we read. A few years back, the Bombshells line of statues floored everybody, providing much inspiration for the cosplay community and later spawning its own comic. More recently, we received word that the journey would continue with Bombshells United, which was great and all, but I was really expecting Gotham City Garage to have followed suit. Funnily enough, DC was planning such a title,...

This week is one monumental week for Wonder Woman. After 75 years, the Amazonian princess is finally about to star in her own movie – which it turns out is critically acclaimed. To mark the occasion, DC has given us Wonder Woman Annual #1, the first annual to star the character in the Rebirth era. It’s an anthology collection containing several short stories which each demonstrate just how amazing Diana is.
The highlight for many fans will be the annual’s opening tale, ‘And Then There Were Three,’ courtesy of current Wonder Woman writer Greg Rucka. It’s a retelling of the first meeting between the Trinity – Superman, Batman and Diana. It’s a great little piece, with Rucka nailing in broad strokes the differences between these three heroes. Superman is sunny and hopeful, Batman is reticent and slow to trust while Diana is noble and pure of spirit. Rucka’s work...

2009's Star Trek reboot told a new story involving the origins of both Captain Kirk and his loyal science officer Spock. Seeing as Star Trek Beyond in theaters this summer, as well as the franchise's 50th anniversary being celebrated this year, it's a good time to recap the story that started it all over again. With that in mind, please enjoy the fan video "My Spock," based off of Hamilton's similarly named song, "My Shot." YouTuber Jackson Lanzing created this tribute to both the Star Trek Beyond character, as well as Lin-Manuel Miranda's hit musical, and it's quite something to watch. Taking one of Hamilton's most memorable songs and mashing it up with J.J. Abrams' 2009 relaunch actually works quite well, as Lanzing clearly knows Miranda's song inside and out. The cadence, as well as the subject matter, matches to a tee, making this mashup more of a tribute...

Alyssa Milano wears many hats. She’s a cheating wife, a witch, the Boss (arguably)… and a comic-book writer.
Milano has collaborated with writers Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly, artist Marcus To, colorist Ian Herring, and letterer Deron Bennett to create a new graphic novel called Hacktivist, a “fast-paced cyber-thriller” that follows a pair of Silicon Valley wunderkinds who lead a secret double life. By day, Ed Hiccox and Nate Graft are the founders of an innovative social media company; by night, they’re a notorious team of hackers.
