Alan Wake 2 has been a triumph for Remedy Entertainment and the developers revealed two video games that were sources of inspiration. The survival-horror video game was well-received and took advantage of the success of The Evil Within franchise.
It is unfortunate to see Tango Gameworks being closed down by Microsoft. Kyle Rowley served as one of the game directors of the Alan Wake sequel and opened the doors. Rowley sent an invitation to the developers seeking new opportunities and also revealed another inspiration for the game.

Survival horror games have finally made a comeback in a huge manner. First was The Callisto Protocol, which launched in 2022 to mixed reviews. It was followed by the Dead Space remake, which launched to critical acclaim. Then fans got a game called Resident Evil 4 Remake, and finally, Alan Wake 2 was launched by Remedy Entertainment.
Most of these games were incredibly successful; they were no doubt serving a market that had been overlooked for a while. The above-mentioned games also gave the fans of survival horror games hope that they can now see more such games released in the near future. But some of these games also took a bunch of inspiration from games that were before them, like Alan Wake 2, which was heavily inspired by a classic horror franchise.

There is no denying that Alan Wake 2 was one of last year’s biggest games and surprises, along the same lines as how successful Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was for animation, and one talented VFX artist went the extra mile by integrating a specific animation used in the film to recreate the game’s song number with Lego. It requires great skill and knowledge to even utilize the technology, but with great passion come great outcomes.
It is a miracle to see what a person can do with unlimited time and limited resources. Being able to recreate something that is on par with the same quality as the original will draw the attention of crowds.
In Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, there is a small and short sequence that takes the film into a world where everything is made out of Lego, and it was a young, talented man named Preston Mutanga...

Alan Wake 2 has been around for a while, and the spicy rumors surrounding it seem endless, especially with the famous Sweet Baby scandal. Of course, it doesn’t change the fact that Remedy did a pretty good job and was appreciated by the folks. You know, a gripping story full of horror stuff, successful graphics and not-bad gameplay mechanics.
To be specific, Saga Anderson is at the center of the rumors about the game. You know, the brave FBI lady who identifies victims and suspects through telepathy. It seems that the Game Director of Remedy has grown weary of the endless theories about Saga and has finally put an end to the question marks.
Alan Wake 2 Game Director Ends Endless Rumors About Saga Saga Anderson scene in the game.
For those who don’t know, Sweet Baby Inc. is a narrative development and consultation studio based in Montreal and working around the globe.

While it feels silly to point out that Alan Wake 2 is a horror game, much has been made of the transition from Alan Wake’s style of Action Horror to Alan Wake 2’s brand of more “pure” Survival Horror. In fact, quite a few people seem to be wondering if Alan Wake 2 will be too scary for them to enjoy.
That topic even came up during our recent interview with Alan Wake 2 directors Sam Lake and Kyle Rowley. The pair were well aware of the challenges of making a properly scary horror game that isn’t so effective that people end up not wanting to play it. That’s especially true for this sequel that is building upon a scary (but generally slightly more accessible) horror gaming experience.
So how scary is Alan Wake 2? Truth be told, it’s a walk through a slightly spooky park compared to the absolute scariest video games out there.

“You left us on quite the cliffhanger,” teases insipid light-night talk show host Mr. Door, as he playfully admonishes his guest for the glacial pace of their output.
Said interviewee happens to be none other than pulpy crime novelist (turned unwitting adversary of evil) Alan Wake, who is more than a little perplexed by the rhetoric of the man sitting across from him.
Befuddlement, of course, is one of Alan’s defining traits and right now he is unable to figure out: A) how he got here in the first place; B) whether he’s already been through this pantomimic ordeal once before; or C) if the studio audience currently snickering away hyena-like in the darkness even exists. More importantly, though, he has no recollection whatsoever of penning another book.
You see, he’s been suffering from crippling writer’s block for the past few years and, as far as he can tell,...

After diving a bit into the Saga Anderson character last week, Remedy and publisher Epic Games have released their first “Behind the Scenes” developer diary for Alan Wake 2 that goes further into introducing the co-protagonist for the sequel.
Modelled after and voiced by Melanie Liburd, FBI Special Agent Saga Anderson is part of the exploration of duality in Alan Wake 2. According to Principal writer Clay Murphy, Anderson functions as “a counter-point, like another perspective, in the game that would play off of Alan’s [perspective]”.
“We’re obviously quite aware that the first game came out 13 years ago, so we wanted to make sure that we had a hero character who would bring the perspective of new players,” explained Kyle Rowley, Alan Wake 2‘s Game Director. “We wanted to make sure that new players of the experience would be learning with her through the story.”
