Kino Lorber has acquired North American rights to Toronto title Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami and is lining up a theatrical release in early April with a VOD and home entertainment release set for autumn 2018.
WestEnd Films, which handles world sales, has also sold the documentary about the iconic singer and performer to Germany (Ascot Elite), Switzerland (Praesens), Italy (Offine Ubu), Benelux (Arti Film), China (Lemon Tree), Scandinavia and Baltics (Non Stop), Poland (Against Gravity), the Middle East (Front Row), Ex-Yugoslavia (Demiurg) and Australia (Umbrella).
The well-received film, part music documentary and part biopic, was released by Trafalgar in the UK last October.

London-based sales and finance outfit WestEnd Films has appointed Sophie Green as head of acquisitions and development.
Green’s previous experience includes stints at Studiocanal in the legal and business affairs team, and recently in Australia with Jamie Hilton’s production outfit See Pictures, where she worked as acquisitions and business development manager.

Sundance Selects will release Dancer this summer after Arianna Bocco agreed terms with WestEnd managing director Eve Schoukroun.
Dancer chronicles the life and work of Sergei Polunin, the youngest principal dancer ever to perform for the British Royal Ballet who wrestled with fame and eventually resigned to pursue his artistic voice.

Sundance has always been a great launching pad for new breakout talents. Rooney Mara saw her first major part in film was as a supporting player in James C. Strouse’s The Winning Season which premiered at the fest, and veteran actor Ben Mendelsohn had his true breakout moment in Park City for David Michod’s Animal Kingdom. Perhaps the stars will for this highly anticipated directorial debut from an already established talent. First-time director Benedict Andrews is award-winning Australian theatre director who works out of Iceland and London, and judging from his body of work likely made the comfortable leap to this new set of damaged characters with Una – (formerly Blackbird) a screenplay by playwright David Harrower. LONDON -- Former Icon Entertainment International chief Peter Naish has been hired as managing director at Capitol Films, the London-based financier and sales house said Wednesday.
Naish is set at the end of the month to join Capitol head of sales James Norrie and ThinkFilm International head of sales Eve Schoukroun, who will both report to Naish, in planning for the upcoming Marche du Film.
"Capitol has always had a solid foundation as one of the world's leading sales and production companies," Naish said in a statement. "To be part of the company's ambitious plans to grow, of which the acquisition of ThinkFilm was just the start, is a great opportunity, and I'm looking forward to working with a hugely experienced and talented team."
Capitol chairman David Bergstein described Naish's experience in the international sales business as "a strong addition to the U.K. office" and said it would ramp up the team ahead of Cannes.
In early 2006, Capitol was acquired by L.A.-based entrepreneur David Bergstein.
