French CGI studio TeamTO, one of the biggest animation studios in Europe, has initiated development on “Jade Armor” Season Two.
The move comes as TeamTO has produced on a service basis third party IPs ranging from “Kiya & the Kimoja Heroes” to Netflix hit “The Creature Cases.”
Progress on “Jade Armor” TeamTO is made in the wake of its moving last December into a brand new 2,700 square-meter studio facility in the Bastille district in Paris, as, in its busiest year ever, TeamTO is producing five third-party shows. Five more, all TeamTO original series, are airing around the globe.
Parallel to this, TeamTO is offering on open access its cutting-edge technologies and protocol which can significantly reduce energy consumption.
A martial arts action comedy, “Jade Armor’s” narrative premise is fantasy, turning on Lan Jun, an unlikely Chinese teen hero who inherits a magical suit of armor which allows her to protect her city Ban Tang,...

CBS is set to air a primetime special titled “A Salute to ‘NCIS: Los Angeles'” immediately after the two-part conclusion of the long-running crime show on May 21.
Capping off 14 seasons of programming, the first part of the series finale airs May 14 (10-11 p.m. Et) on CBS. The second part will be released May 21 (9-10 p.m. Et), followed by the one-hour farewell special at 10 p.m. Et.
“Wrapping up a series is always bittersweet. We were blessed to have 14 seasons together, so bringing it to a satisfying end was extremely challenging after so many years,” said showrunner and executive producer R. Scott Gemmill. “Fortunately, CBS was gracious enough to give us an extra episode in order to send off our characters in a way befitting their stories that hopefully the fans find both satisfying and hopeful.”
The final two episodes follow the NCIS team as they investigate a case of stolen military-grade weapons,...

Universal had big plans for their Dark Universe, a rebooted version of their classic horror franchise that would let them remake titles like The Invisible Man and more with big names in the lead. Unfortunately for the studio, however, Tom Cruise’s The Mummy hopelessly unravelled at the box office, leaving the future of their shared universe uncertain.
Things got a lot clearer, though, when franchise architects Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan walked away from the Dark Universe and Universal shut down pre-production on Bill Condon’s Bride of Frankenstein. You can’t help but wonder, then, if the studio needs to find some other filmmakers with a strong vision for how to remake these horror movies in a successful way in the modern climate.
One who springs to mind is Jason Blum, the founder of Blumhouse, the production company that’s delivered some of the most innovative, smart and...

Earlier this year, Universal shut down their planned shared universe of classic movie monsters following the failure of the Tom Cruise flick The Mummy. So the Dark Universe is dead right? Not so much… The other day Robert Vargas took to Instagram to post about his recent visit to the Dark Universe offices writing, “Great […]

It’s safe to say that Universal’s Dark Universe hasn’t gone to plan. Intended to emulate the wildly successful Marvel Cinematic Universe, but with classic movie monsters instead of superheroes, the films have repeatedly sputtered. 2014’s Dracula Untold was originally intended to launch the idea, but its critical and commercial failure led Universal to sever connections with it and say that 2017’s The Mummy was actually going to be the first Dark Universe film – for real this time!
Of course, the reboot proceeded to founder even worse than Dracula Untold, releasing to dreadful reviews and eventually losing about $95 million. Universal then quickly pulled the plug on Bride of Frankenstein, intended to be the follow-up to The Mummy. Perhaps seeing the writing on the wall, the architects of the Dark Universe, Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan departed, after which it looked like the whole monster shared universe thing was in the trash.

Remember that time when Universal Pictures was building the hype for their epic Dark Universe monster movie franchise? Then Tom Cruise's The Mummy was released, and they just stopped talking about it and the whole thing just kind of faded away like it never happened and a bunch of producers dropped out. The second film in the franchise was supposed to be The Bride of Frankenstein, but it seemed like they pulled the plug on that.
We just assumed the Dark Universe thing had been abandoned, but it doesn't sound like that's the case. There was a recent Instagram post from artist Robert Vargas, that was discovered by Universal Monsters Universe, and it suggests that Universal Pictures hasn't given up on it yet.
Apparently, Vargas had a meeting last week with the Dark Universe team at Universal Pictures, and he says that he's "looking forward to contributing to the...
