Nolita Cinema’s musical Hear Me Love, starring France’s biggest pop star Clara Luciani in her first lead role, has started shooting in Paris as part of a revival of the film musical in France.
Set between Paris and Rome’s Cinecitta’s Studios in the 1970s, Hear Me Love (Joli Joli) follows a struggling writer looking for inspiration for his second novel who falls in love with a famous movie star. It is the fifth feature by French film and theatre director Diastème and is being scored by composer Alex Beaupain.

Broadcasters in France, Germany and Italy have joined forces on family adventure series “The Emperor’s Stone: The Search of La Buse’s Treasure,” which will be produced under the Alliance, a partnership formed in 2018 by leading European pubcasters to finance ambitious, internationally-driven series.
Commissioned by France Télévisions, Zdf and Rai, “The Emperor’s Stone: The Search of La Buse’s Treasure” won the call for projects launched in 2022 by the Alliance. The Party Films Sales will screen exclusive images from Julien Guetta’s second feature film “Top Dogs” (“Les Cadors”) at Unifrance Rendez Vous in Paris.
“Top Dogs” is a comedy drama about two estranged brothers from Normandy. Antoine is happily married with two kids and a successful boat driver, whereas Christian is a globe-trotting hustler. When Antoine becomes involved in sleazy activities, Christian comes to his rescue. Exclusive: David M. Rosenthal is directing an untitled thriller about freediving, which has been boarded by Netflix France.
Starring in the pic are Camille Rowe (Rock’n Roll) and Sofiane Zermani (Close Enemies), with César Domboy (Outlander) and Zacharie Chasseriaud (Hippocrate) in supporting roles.
The film follows Roxana Aubrey, a young university student with a troubled past and a passion for the sea, who decides to drop her studies and escape her life in Paris for a freediving course in the south of France. She is quickly pulled into a life that reaches new depths brought by the weight of an ocean’s descent.

Represented in international markets by The Party Film Sales, the feature world premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and went on to play at a flurry of film festivals, including New York and Colcoa in Los Angeles.

The film was recently announced as part of the New York Film Festival spotlight section lineup.

The Artist star, Berenice Bejo is apparently in some serious negotiations to join an upcoming French-language drama which comes from director Michele Placido. Titled The Choice, the movie is Placido’s follow-up to the 2011 crime thriller The Lookout, and is also one of 27 projects presented at Les Arcs European Film Festival’s Co-Production Village.
Inspired by Luigi Pirandello‘s novel, The Choice will center on a woman who discovers she is pregnant following a rape. She and her husband, who love each other deeply, but haven’t been able to concieve a child together, are faced with a terrible choice.
As you already guess – if negotiations with Bejo work out, she will come on board to portray the above mentioned woman.
The Choice is produced by Maxime Delauney’s Nolita Cinema and Romain Rousseau, and according to them, the movie is:
