This article contains spoilers for Smallville.
There’s no doubt that Lois (Erica Durance) and Clark (Tom Welling) were the right endgame for Smallville. And not just because Lois and Clark almost always inevitably end up together. Their years of loathing turning to respect and then love makes for some great TV, and Durance and Welling’s chemistry is incredible. However, even though Smallville mostly hit the mark with Clark’s love-life by the end of the series, his first love, Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk), deserved so much better than the arc she was given.
By the time Clark and Lana get together in the series, Lana already knows that something is up with Clark. He’s somehow always there to save her when she’s in danger or just generally involved with all of the weird stuff going on in town. His farm boy charms also aren’t really...

Michael Rosenbaum, who played Lex Luthor in Smallville, is opening up about the idea he has for a sequel series in an animated form.
In a new interview, Rosenbaum revealed he and Tom Welling were developing an animated series with the original cast and creators of the show that originated in 2001 on the now-defunct WB network.
“All I could share is that it’s a great idea. We have Al [Gough] and Miles [Millar], the creators of Smallville, backing us up,” Rosenbaum said in an interview with Screen Rant. “When it’s the right time, we’d like to go and do this: pitch to Warner Bros. It has to be the right time, and right now is not the right time.”
He continued, “We had the strike, we had a change of executives at DC — one being one of my best friends in the world, James Gunn. When the time’s right,...

We all love a good superhero origin story. Sure, it’s great to see Spider-Man swing from buildings, but it’s what Uncle Ben tells a young Peter Parker that touches us all. We all love seeing Batman kick the Joker’s teeth in, but we are all fascinated by that tragic night in Crime Alley. So it’s no surprise that the first and greatest superhero of all time should have a TV show about what defines him. There is a reason why Clark Kent is the best of us. While Batman may be the ultimate example of physical perfection, Superman is the pinnacle of the goodness of humanity. But fans have always debated: is Superman Clark Kent, or is Clark Kent just a disguise? I have always argued Superman is just a cape. Clark is the hero who wears it. Smallville is the case for my belief in...

Dceu will be officially over by the end of this year, and after that, a whole era awaits for DC and its live-action content. Apart from the Elseworlds projects, such as ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ and ‘The Batman — Part II,’ the audience also has a new Superman movie to look forward to. We don’t know if James Gunn’s ‘Superman: Legacy’ will be good or if it’s going to be commercially successful, but one thing is certain: the success (or failure) of this movie will dictate the direction of DC movies for at least the next ten years.

We knew it was coming, but it doesn't make it any less upsetting.
Seven series regulars have been let go from The CW's Superman & Lois ahead of season 4.
The news comes the same week the show eked out a 10-episode renewal for the 2023-24 season with the caveat that there would be budget cuts.
We already reported that Dylan Walsh was departing as General Sam Lane, and now, six other beloved cast members are joining him, Deadline reports.
Buckle up because this isn't easy to report.
The Lang family is no more as Emmanuelle Chriqui (as Mayor Lana Lang), Erik Valdez (as Lana's ex-husband Kyle Cushing), and Inde Navarrette (as Lana and Kyle's daughter Sarah) are all being written out.
The bad news extends to the Irons family, with Wolé Parks (as Superman's ally John Henry Irons) and Tayler Buck (as John Henry's daughter Natalie) also not landing...

Audiences often groan at having to sit through yet another superhero origin story, especially one that's already so embedded in pop culture that even people who've never read a comic book in their lives could describe it. The CW's "Smallville," which takes a look at the formative years of Clark Kent before he became Superman, could've fallen into the trap of repeating so many of the same story elements that we're all so familiar with. And yet, the series -- which launched in 2001 and ended in 2011 -- managed to wring a lot of great material out of Clark's early days and, for the most part, maintain its high quality over the course of 10 seasons.
Part of what made "Smallville" work so well was its creators' ability to fuse the teen drama that made the CW so popular with young people during the network's heyday with thrilling superheroics and action set pieces.

The long wait for Superman & Lois Season 3 is almost over.
The CW dropped an extended trailer for the forthcoming season, premiering March 14, and there's a lot to talk about.
We'll start with Jonathan Kent.
The trailer offers our first look at Michael Bishop, who takes over the role from Jordan Elsass.
Elsass announced his departure from the superhero drama before filming Superman & Lois Season 3.
Our first glimpse at the new Jonathan coincides with our first look at the new Fortress of Solitude, which in turn, reveals that the entire Kent family can attend.
The trailer hints at the family wanting to be like a regular family, and that includes celebrating birthdays without superhero drama.
However, Lois drops a bombshell on Clark that is sure to shake up this family dynamic like never before:
She might be pregnant.

The Superman origin story "Smallville" aired for ten seasons, first on The WB and later on The CW. The show was created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, who also came up with the wildly popular Netflix series "Wednesday." "Smallville" ran from 2001 through 2011 for over 200 episodes (though Gough and Millar left after season 7), chronicling Kal-El/Clark Kent's high school years and romance with Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk) and friendship-turned-antagonistic relationship with Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum), his work at the Daily Planet with Lois Lane (Erica Durance), and finally, his transformation into Superman. Until the very last moment, we never saw Clark in his cape, but the show made a whole new generation fall in love with the character, the Superman mythology, and DC comics.
It's hard to believe it's been over two decades since "Smallville" began airing. Gough and Millar spoke to The Hollywood Reporter in December 2022 about their new...

Comics have some incredibly iconic couples: Spider-Man and Mary Jane, Nightwing and Batgirl, Reed Richards and Sue Storm, Superman and Lana Lang ... wait a minute, that last one isn't right. Even those only tangentially familiar with Superman know that Lois Lane is his one and only. That wasn't, however, the case for Clark Kent, who fell for Lana long before meeting his future wife. So, when creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar went about telling the story of Clark's (Tom Welling) younger days in "Smallville," it was Lana and not Lois who initially stole his heart. This is not to say the writers were bound by Superman's already dense mythology, because the duo added some pretty exciting new developments to the mix, most notably making Clark's burgeoning friendship with young Lex Luthor (a brilliant Michael Rosenbaum) serve as a core element of the series.

The CW dropped the official trailer for Superman & Lois Season 3, premiering March 14 at 8/7c.
Superman & Lois Season 3 Episode 1 marks our first look at the new Jonathan, played by Michael Bishop.
Bishop was revealed last year to be taking over following the departure of Jordan Elsass.
The new season "opens weeks after Superman's blowout defeat of Ally Allston," The CW teases in a press release.
"Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) are now working at the Smallville Gazette together and enjoying small town life."

The Kents are determined to survive their next crisis “as a family,” even if that family looks a little different than we remember it.
The CW has unveiled the official trailer for Superman & Lois‘ upcoming third season (March 14, 8/7c), which confirms that life in Smallville is about to change forever. Not only does the show have a new Jonathan — now played by Australian actor Michael Bishop, following Jordan Elsass’ departure — but he may not be the only addition to the family.

If you were watching television between 2001 and 2011, at some point you probably either watched or at least stumbled across "Smallville." The episodic adventures of a young Clark Kent, who was destined to become Superman, "Smallville" was a teen soap opera/monster-of-the-week TV ratings bonanza for The WB (which eventually became The CW), and for a whole decade, it was one of the network's signature shows.
Unlike previous Superman live-action shows, however, "Smallville" eventually went out of its way to incorporate other heroes and villains from the comics, creating its own sprawling universe. Over the course of the series familiar costumed crime fighters like Green Arrow, Martian Manhunter, Zatanna, Dr. Fate, and Hawkman — to name a few — teamed up with the fledgling superhero.
And yet over the course of the show, despite a series of amusing references and teases, "Smallville" never introduced Bruce Wayne, the Batman, in the series. And that's...

The suit. The cape. The "S." The perfectly quaffed hair. The square chin. "Superman: The Animated Series" neatly tucked all of Superman's signature features into a successful framework. The creators of "Batman: The Animated Series" brought their polished pedigree to the Man of Steel mythos — including Batman's darker tone, timeless vibe, and Art Deco design.
We've seen dark versions of Superman before with mixed results. In "Superman: The Animated Series," the darkness works because the story gives us a break from the heavy by mixing in lighthearted, bizarre, and cartoonish storylines and characters — some of which are among the best in the series. That's different from "Batman: The Animated Series," which maintains a mostly serious tone, even when the Joker frolics into frame.
It makes sense that "Superman: The Animated Series" is more out-of-this-world than Batman. Superman is an alien who fights oppression across the cosmos and meets interstellar beings...

In his first leading feature role, Drew Ray Tanner (“Riverdale”) will star in “Boot Camp,” a film adaptation of the hugely popular Wattpad story by Gina Musa of the same name.
The romantic comedy tells the body-empowerment story of notoriously unathletic Whitney Carmichael, played by Rachel Boudwin, who begins to fall for her off-limits personal trainer, Axel (Tanner), after signing up for an intense summer boot camp to reinvent herself. A deepening connection inspires her to let go of the others’ expectations and, instead, find the strength to embrace her true self.
Wattpad Webtoon Studios announced that production has wrapped on “Boot Camp” after filming began in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, earlier this month. The movie does not yet have distribution deals. “Boot Camp,” which currently has over 26 million reads on Wattpad, was developed with Great Pacific Media, December Films, Junction Hammer Productions and Channel Zero Studios.

Jensen Ackles has been flirting with superherodom his entire career.
The Texas-born actor first became well known to TV audiences thanks to a handful of superhero adjacent roles in the early 2000s. First he portrayed super soldier Alec McDowell a.k.a. X5-494 on Fox’s ahead-of-its-time Dark Angel and then acted opposite none other than Superman as Lana Lang’s love interest Jason Teague on Smallville. He would go on to voice Jason Todd in animated film Batman: Under the Red Hood and the Dark Knight himself in Batman: The Long Halloween.
Of course, that’s not even to mention his most iconic role – that of the demon-hunting Dean Winchester on Supernatural, who alongside his brother Sam (Jared Padalecki) was only a costume and grandiose name away from being a comic book supe.
With the arrival of The Boys season 3, however, Ackles is finally doing this superhero thing properly.

The following contains spoilers for Superman & Lois.
Superman & Lois Season 2 Episode 10
Superman & Lois returns from its month-long hiatus with what is, pardon the pun, one of its most bizarre episodes to date, an hour that takes us through the proverbial looking glass, to an alternate reality that looks like it has a lot more in common with Riverdale than Smallville. This “Bizarro World” is the inverse of our own, and these changes are reflected in both its main characters and the society they inhabit. To put it bluntly: We are definitely not in our version of Kansas anymore.
In this world, the vibe is generally edgier: Everyone’s sporting a lot more leather and seems to love Manic Panic, their outfits are much more sexy and suggestive, and there’s a general air of debauchery that is diametrically opposed to the more wholesome feel of Superman & Lois’s normal reality.

Superman & Lois Season 2 Episode 6
One of the best things about Superman & Lois is its ability to deftly balance a half dozen competing plots and character arcs at any given moment. The show somehow manages to pivot from stories about family drama and smalltown politics to deep cut superhero lore and teenage romantic angst without missing a beat, ultimately creating something that feels utterly unique to any previous version of this story that we’ve seen on screen before.
“Tried and True” is a perfect example of this—the hour is 100% nonstop from start to finish, featuring everything from a literal trip to Bizarro World and a high octane high school football game to the ultimate betrayal of Superman by the U.S. government. (There’s even a literal avalanche at one point.)

"Smallville" fans, there's hope for an animated TV revival! At least according to Tom Welling, the show's Clark Kent, who has some promising news regarding the planned "Smallville" animated TV series, which picks up right after the events of season 10. Being the longest-running DC Comics television show, "Smallville" had a whopping 10-year run, and was (still is) a beloved show about Superman's origin.
For the uninitiated, "Smallville" follows a young Clark Kent as he navigates the toils of high school while dealing with his emerging superpowers. The series traces quite an arc for Kent, who goes from pining for Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk) to developing...

Superman & Lois Episode 10
Superman & Lois episode 10, “O Mother, Where Art Thou” picks up literally at the moment where we left the show last week, with Morgan Edge revealing to Superman that he’s not only a Kryptonian, but that he may very well be his brother. There was just enough ambiguity in that reveal to leave us wondering if Edge meant it metaphorically or literally, but as this episode explains, he really did mean it. If nothing else, he is biologically the half-brother of Kal-El.
But that’s somehow not even close to the biggest thing that went down in this episode of Superman & Lois, so let’s get down to it…
Tal-Ro and Zeta-Ro

Having already plumbed the depths of the Superman well for “Smallville,” which survived the demise of the WB network to run for a full decade, The CW’s gone back to its Kansan/Kryptonian roots for “Superman and Lois,” a strangely grim take on one of comics’ brightest heroes.

But then the story continues as Clark and Lois get married, settle in Metropolis, and have twin boys.
