Minds are spinning at the news that High School Musical is making a comeback - mostly because this time, it'll be with an entirely new cast. It's an understandable (although heartbreaking) decision. After all, the first movie premiered a decade ago, so it would be a tough sell to convince audiences that Zac Efron and co. are still high school age. But even though the East High originals may be moving on, there's lots to look forward to - and here are a few suggestions of who. The cool new girl: Keke PalmerAfter Grease: Live, we know Palmer can handle...

Watch ‘Good Luck Charlie’ make television history, introducing the network’s first lesbian couple.
Some sitcoms go out with a whimper, but not Good Luck Charlie! On the Disney Channel comedy’s penultimate episode — the two-part series finale airs Feb. 16 — viewers were introduced to Susan and Cheryl, the first confirmed same-sex couple ever to appear on the kid-oriented network.
“Taylor has two moms!” proclaimed Bob (Eric Allan Kramer), upon meeting the two women, to which sassy wife Amy (Leigh Allyn Baker) responded, “Wow! Nothing gets past you, Bob.”
This is a huge move for Disney Channel, which has never featured an openly gay character, much less a same-sex couple — no matter what everyone may have speculated about High School Musical‘s Ryan Evans.
The icing on the cake for HollywoodLife.com was seeing Awkward star Desi Lydic as one of the moms!

Former Wildcat Ashley Tisdale hinted at a possible ‘High School Musical’ reunion via Twitter on Oct 15. This could mean a reunion for Zac and Vanessa!
It’s been a while since we’ve seen Zac Efron, 26, and Vanessa Hudgens, 24, together — but a potential High School Musical reunion could bring the ex-couple back together! Did Zac and Vanessa tweet that they wanted to see their castmates again?
Zac Efron & Vanessa Hudgens: Will They Reunite For Potential ‘High School Musical’ Reunion?
The reunion idea was proposed by Monique Coleman, who played Vanessa’s best friend Taylor McKessie in the movie.
How cool would it be if the cast of #HSM came together for a reunion? Like real Hs. It’s almost been 5 years! Tell me it thoughts...

While most people reading this would give an arm and a leg to attend the Television Critics Association Press Tour — a bi-annual event that affords those who cover the industry the unique opportunity to hobnob with the actors, writers and executives who help create it — the unfortunate fact of the matter is that a never-ending parade of panels and parties is more often than not, not nearly as much fun as it sounds. That said, every once in a while a little gem of a show comes along that reminds us as to why we’re so lucky to be covering this business we affectionally refer to as show. This past TCA, that show was ABC Family’s Switched At Birth, a truly compelling series that tells the story of what happens when two teen girls (one deaf, one hearing) discover that they were, as the title suggests, switched at birth.

Although "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" was her last as Gabriella Montez, Vanessa Hudgens still leaves an open door for her return. In a recent interview with MTV News, the 21-year-old actress teases on the possibility of her making a cameo as the girlfriend of Troy Bolton on "HSM" spin-off, "Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure".
The "Beastly" star admitted that she isn't against the idea of making an appearance on the TV movie, especially if its star, who happens to be former co-star, Ashley Tisdale asks her. "Maybe! If she's like, 'Hey!.' I'd be like, 'Ok!' Well, she's my best, best friend," she revealed. Though so, she added, "I don't know."
Asked what she thinks about the spin-off, Vanessa responded, "I'm stoked for her and it's going to be awesome. Kids love Sharpay and I did love Sharpay too, her costumes and her clothes and everything. It's so much fun,...

Four years ago, we gathered 'round the television to check out the highly hyped Disney Channel original movie, High School Musical (2006). As the popcorn popped, we focused our attention away from our bratty sibling long enough to watch sparks fly between Troy (Zac Efron) and Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens) on New Year's Year. The party wallflowers avoided interaction at the slope party; however, that all changed when they were forced to sing a debut together. "I know that something has changed, never felt this way, and right here tonight, this could be the start of something new. It feels so right to be here with you, and know looking in your eyes, I feel in my heart, the start of something new." The two fresh faced lovebirds made a connection while singing together, and also connected with the millions of fans looking on. The cast of High School Musical was key...

Once upon a time in Hollywood, there was the Hays Code, a set of rules that major motion picture studios were forced to follow. The code forbade, among other things, nudity, crude language, mockery of religion and “lustful kissing.” Also not allowed were references to “sex perversion,” including homosexuality.
Did that mean there were no gay characters in movies? Heck, no. They were just “coded.” The persnickety and purse-lipped Franklin Pangborn, constantly exasperated by the foibles of W.C. Fields, or the fey Edward Everett Horton, forever complicating romantic matters between Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, were never identified as gay men. But they didn’t have to be — the audience saw their demeanor, their behavior, the way they spoke, acted, and dressed, and their queerness was forthrightly implied if never directly named.
