Not all of Spurs’ transfer activity this summer was straightforward buying and selling. A number of players from the club went out on loan to gain more experience, become better players and increase their chances of developing their careers at White Hart Lane in the future.
There were ten outgoing loans in total from the club, with the deals ranging from high-profile senior players to budding youngsters with no first team experience.
Defender Grant Hall (pictured) joined Birmingham City, midfielder Alex Pritchard joined Brentford, midfielder Kenneth McEvoy joined Peterborough United, striker Shaquile Coulthirst joined Southend United, goalkeeper Jordan Archer joined Northampton Town, defender DeAndre Yedlin – who has just signed for Spurs – rejoined Seattle Sounders, midfielder Tom Carroll joined Swansea City, defender Ryan Fredericks joined Middlesbrough, midfielder Tomislav Gomelt joined Bari and midfielder Lewis Holtby joined Hamburg.

Tom Carroll has told Tottenham Hotspur’s official website of his pride after captaining England Under-21s in Moldova on Tuesday night.
The creative midfielder – who is currently out on loan at Spurs’ Premier League rivals Swansea City for the season – donned the skipper’s armband as his team rounded off their qualifying campaign in the group phase of the European Under-21 Championship with a 3-0 victory in Tiraspol.
Tom played extremely well, controlling the play from the middle of the park in his ninth appearance at Under-21 level, and spoke of his delight at being made captain by manager Gareth Southgate.
I was absolutely buzzing when the manager told me, I couldn’t take the smile off my face! We went over a few things before the game and he asked me if I’d be captain. I was delighted. Every player would want the chance to captain...

Spurs’ young midfielder Alex Pritchard aims to use his current loan spell at Brentford to impress the coaching staff at his parent club.
The newly capped England Under-21 international (who made his debut at that level just this week), has previously spent time away from White Hart Lane on loan at both Peterborough United and Swindon Town and joined the Bees on a season-long loan on the 17th of July this year.
Pritchard has claimed that he already feels settled at Griffin Park and is hoping that regular game time in the Championship will give him with the platform to showcase his skills so that the powers-that-be at White Hart Lane will see what he can do. He told reporters the following:
I had my first full year of men’s football at Swindon so I’m looking to continue that here. I felt I needed...

Despite already being relatively short in numbers in the top quality striker department, Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas is set to be open to the idea of no less than three of his current crop leaving in the January transfer window.
Youngster Harry Kane, who is yet to make an impact at Spurs despite being a star performer at under 21 level for his country, is said to be a loan target for Swindon Town – a club where no less than three Spurs youngsters are already out on loan and performing well (Grant Hall, Alex Pritchard and Ryan Mason respectively). Kane has already been loaned out to Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich City and Leicester City and given how well the loan policy at the club worked with the likes of Kyle Walker and Andros Townsend, this may be an ongoing developmental plan with regards to the striker.

As the Capital One cup reaches the third round stage the Premier League big boys now enter the competition and one club hoping not to slip up will be Chelsea who travel to face League One side Swindon Town. Here I will preview the game and look at team news, likely starting line-ups as well as giving my prediction for the outcome of the match.
Chelsea
After beating Liverpool to claim his first piece of silverware as Chelsea manager back in 2005, Jose Mourinho will be hoping for further success in the competition as he takes his side to face Mark Cooper’s Swindon.
Saturday’s 2-0 win over Fulham was a light relief for the club after suffering back to back defeats against both Everton in the league and Fc Basel in the Champions League and was their first win in five.
