When ABC’s The Rookie reports back for duty next Sunday, Jan. 3 at 10/9c, Officer John Nolan will have Lucy Ricardo levels of ‘splaining to do.
When last we tuned into the procedural, Nolan (played by Nathan Fillion) and his T.O. Nyla Harper (Mekia Cox) had rounded up just enough damning, if not circumstantial, evidence against Detective Nick Armstrong (Harold Perrineau) to suggest the precinct legend was doing crime boss Serj Darien’s bidding. When Nolan ill-advisedly confronted Armstrong alone, gunfire was exchanged, with the latter winding up wounded. That is when Armstrong revealed that he had taken measures...

I just watched The Rookie Season 2 Episode 20. And?
I won’t give away too many specifics, but if you’d like to watch "The Hunt," completely Spoiler Free, then I suggest you Stop reading now!
Okay, you’ve been warned.
As the promo says, we left off with The Rookie Season 2 Episode 19, where two cops are dead, and it appears that Detective Nick Armstrong is responsible.
How will Officer John Nolan react to his revelation that Officer Erin Cole said Armstrong’s name before she saw him?
Are some fans, right? Is there an alternative explanation that makes more sense of Nick Armstrong’s actions?
And how far will Nolan go to uncover the truth?
Here are a few tidbits I can share:
Nick Armstrong tells his side of the story. Whether Officer Erin Cole’s death was intentional, or not, is solved. Rosalind Dyer demands something of Nolan that makes him really uncomfortable.

Part one, The Rookie Season 2 Episode 19, of the two-part season finale was a high-adrenaline gut punch, and it was all Officer John Nolan's fault.
Okay, maybe it's not all his fault. He didn't force his fellow officers to become moles for the Armenia mob, and he didn't pull the trigger on Chris Rios.
But he did say the Q word.
Harper: Did you really just say the Q word in my shop?
Nolan: What, quiet?
Harper: Ah, ah, ah, stop! You do not under any circumstance ever use the Q word while on duty. That is like saying Macbeth in theater or talking about a no-hitter in the dugout.
Nolan: Okay, I had no idea you were superstitious.
Harper: That is not superstitious, that’s fact.
Nolan: Where are you going?
Harper: I’m going to get the trauma plate for my vest because I have a feeling I'm going to need it.
