British royal family news reveals that Prince Harry is being called out for his verbal attacks on Princess Kate, the “sister” he never had. And it’s about time.
If you haven’t read his trashy memoir, Spare, Harry took it upon himself to blast Kate, just as his wife Meghan Markle did during their cheap 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview.
The world is in awe of how Kate is handling her cancer battle and one royal expert thinks Harry must be feeling like a donkey right about now.
Tessa Dunlop told Us Weekly “When you do discover that your sister-in-law has cancer and you’ve written stuff that can’t be retracted, that’s quite a painful place to be in.”

Following abdominal surgery and weeks of speculation about her health, the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) made a heartbreaking announcement revealing her cancer diagnosis and that she has started “preventative chemotherapy.”
The news not only shocked royal fans all over the world but was also a surprise to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who reportedly found out the same way and the same time the rest of the public did on March 22. The duke and duchess later released a brief statement that read: “We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace.”
Some royal watchers criticized the Sussexes’ message noting that they refused to use their sister-in-law’s Princess of Wales title, which proves that their relationship is still very fractured. It’s also sad to think how close Harry and Kate once were...

After repeated controversial remarks on the Royal Family, Prince Harry is deemed to be in a tough spot following Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis. Openly criticizing the Princess of Wales in his mémoire Spare, the 39-year-old Duke of Sussex is now said to have found himself in a “painful place”.

Royal expert Tessa Dunlop has revealed that Prince Harry now regrets making notorious revelations about his estranged family in his mémoire. Considering Meghan Markle and the Prince’s habit of deliberately mocking the monarchy, they now appear to be in a difficult spot, where they can’t even release a statement regarding Kate Middleton and King Charles’ cancer diagnosis, without looking opportunistic.

With a memoir titled Spare, there’s no secret about how Prince Harry felt throughout his life as a member of the royal family. And following the Princess of Wales’ (formerly known as Kate Middleton) announcement revealing her cancer diagnosis, an expert believes the Duke of Sussex’s feelings about his place in the family are bubbling to the surface again as he’s more of a “spare” now than he ever was.
Expert insists Prince Harry must feel even more like a ‘spare’ now
In early February when King Charles was diagnosed with cancer, Prince Harry said that he got a personal phone call from his father delivering the news. But on March 22, the duke and his wife, Meghan Markle, found out about their sister-in-law Kate’s cancer diagnosis the same way the rest of the world did; via her video message.

Following the Princess of Wales’ (formerly known as Kate Middleton) announcement about her cancer diagnosis, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made news as well. That’s because many royal watchers were waiting to see if they would release a statement regarding the princess, and they did.
The couple issued a message that read: “We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace.”
That wish for their sister-in-law wasn’t well received by everyone and left the Sussexes open to criticism. However, no matter what the outside world may think a royal commentator believes that for Harry and Meghan, this could be a step toward reconciling with the royals since they must be feeling “desperately sorry” now and are likely “wrestling with guilt.”

There seems to be trouble with Prince Harry’s comment about how illness “brings families together.” On the heels of visiting King Charles III as he undergoes cancer treatment, the Duke of Sussex discussed the time he spent with his father and how it could positively impact their relationship. The problem, according to an expert, is that Harry doesn’t “belong” to the royal family.
Harry agreed illness ‘brings families together’ amid King Charles’ cancer diagnosis
A week after seeing King Charles in London, England, following the monarch’s cancer diagnosis announcement, Harry opened up about briefly visiting his dad. He spoke to ABC News’ Will Reeve for Good Morning America in Canada while promoting the 2025 Invictus Games.
“Look, I love my family,” Harry told Reeve. “The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him [King Charles] and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that.

Prior to meeting Prince Harry, Meghan Markle starred in the legal drama Suits playing the role of Rachel Zane. Following the popularity of the show after it became available to stream on Netflix, there was an announcement that a new show called Suits: LA is in the works. There’s also been chatter about a reboot of the original series, and of course everyone wants to know if the Duchess of Sussex would be part of that.
But at least one commentator thinks a return to acting for Meghan might not be welcome by Harry because of a major concern he’d have with it.

King Charles III may be on his way to the hospital, but ahead of being treated for an enlarged prostate, the “protective” monarch shielded Kate Middleton from scrutiny. The statement about the king’s “corrective procedure” coming on the heels of the Princess of Wales’s abdominal surgery announcement was, according to a historian, nothing if not “deliberate.”
King Charles ‘deflected’ attention from Kate’s abdominal surgery with a statement on his own health
On Jan. 17, 2024, in an unusual turn of events for the royal family, Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace released health updates on King Charles and Kate.

The Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) is one of the family members who has been targeted in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s war against the royals.
After stepping down from their roles and moving across the pond, the duchess brought up her sister-in-law and their bridesmaid dress drama during her first televised interview with Oprah Winfrey. Harry’s wife talked about the princess again during the Sussexes’ Netflix docuseries insisting that Kate isn’t a “hugger” and was taken aback when Meghan tried to embrace her.
It’s been reported that the prince and former Suits star are done talking about Harry’s relatives as they try to rebrand in 2024. However, many royal watchers believe Meghan could be gearing up to write her own memoir and if she does, there will surely be plenty in there about Kate and the rest of the family.

The final episodes of The Crown are here, and they could very well leave Prince Harry “triggered,” according to a royal expert. Covering 1998 to 2005, the second part of the sixth and final season, which debuted with part I in November 2023, depicts the years following Princess Diana’s death. But it’s the series’ focus on the Duke of Sussex’s brother, Prince William, as played by Ed McVey, that could hurt Harry most.
[Spoiler alert: This article contains (light) spoilers from The Crown Season 6, Part II.]
Prince William is the ‘linchpin’ in Part II of ‘The Crown’ Season 6
Royal expert Tessa Dunlop, who has seen the final episodes of The Crown, told Ok! Magazine the focus on William “puts Harry’s feelings of being spare in context,” (via Express).
Take, for instance, the first episode of Part II. It’s titled “Willsmania,” and all about William grappling with his newfound attention from the public in the wake of Diana’s death.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have gained plenty of publicity — some good and some bad — for themselves since leaving the royal family back in 2020. Harry and Meghan have since been living in the United States, and while they’ve launched a number of charitable initiatives, the two have seemingly built the most notoriety and money on telling their royal story.
Harry, who has been visibly struggling to find a “purpose” after royal life, might have just found it in a recent public appearance — without even realizing it.

For all those who might be hoping for a royal family reunion over Christmas, this writer included, the odds don’t look good. A historian and royal expert doesn’t expect to see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle travel to England to celebrate Christmas with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in tow.
Harry, Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet are unlikely to be at Sandringham for a royal family Christmas
Remember those cute pictures of King Charles III sitting with Prince Louis, 5, on his lap during Platinum Jubilee weekend in 2022? Something like that probably won’t be recreated with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s kids, 4-year-old Archie and 2-year-old Lilibet, come Christmas.
As Dr. Tessa Dunlop, a historian and royal expert, told the Mirror, Harry and Meghan’s actions as of late don’t indicate a royal Christmas for the Sussexes, let alone a rumored second home.

A historian doesn’t think there’s any truth to the rumor Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are gearing up to do some U.K. house-hunting. They feel another option besides buying real estate in London, England, or the surrounding area makes better “sense.” Additionally, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s “actions” in 2023 haven’t lined up with the rumor.
Harry’s made only ‘pitstops’ in the U.K., Meghan hasn’t visited since 2022
Speaking to the U.K.’s Mirror about Harry and Meghan potentially buying a home in London, historian and royal expert Dr. Tessa Dunlop said it’s, in her opinion, highly unlikely. Take, for instance, the trips Harry’s made to his home country this year.
“His 2023 U.K. pitstops have included a very expensive legal battle with the British press, a blink-and-you’ll-miss-him coronation moment, and a charity event pre-Invictus Games in Germany,” Dunlop said.

It gets lonely at the top, even for the British royal family’s Kate Middleton. Despite being a hugely popular royal, an author says the Princess of Wales may find herself in a unique position where she’s “influential” yet “lonely.”
Kate’s position in the royal family as the Princess of Wales could be ‘isolating’
Yes, she’s been named the most stylish British royal. And, yes, she ranks high in polling. But despite Kate’s many triumphs, her position in the royal family could be “isolating,” Tessa Dunlop, a royal author and historian, told Ok! Magazine (via Express).
“I think, in some ways, Kate feels probably quite lonely,” Dunlop said. “She’s left the category of a lone ranger or rich girl from her home county and has become this sort of stratospherically famous, influential individual. And I think that’s probably quite a lonely position.”

Kate Middleton never had the chance to meet her mother-in-law, Princess Diana, but the two women might have more in common than we thought. Though Diana died in 1997, she would probably love the two women her sons ended up with. And one royal expert thinks that through the years, Kate has proven to be one of the “smartest people in the room” and that she has a “ruthless” attitude just like her mother-in-law did.

The royal family has had quite a year. Still, the family manages to always come out on top, despite that there are certainly tense relationships between some members. Queen Elizabeth’s death in September 2022 led to major shifts in the royal dynamic, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle still aren’t on great terms with most family members. Despite the trials, one royal expert says that the family has seen some “stellar wins” this year despite going through quite a bit with the family.

King Charles and Prince Harry have been at odds for several years now. The two men grew up having a fairly close relationship, and while they hit some snags when Harry was a young adult, the two men always seemed to work things out. Tensions are high now, though, with Charles and Harry hardly speaking.
Despite that some think Harry has abandoned the royals and turned his back on them, others think Charles is still Harry’s father and should show his son a little more “compassion” amid their ongoing feud.

Ever since Prince Harry began dating American actor Meghan Markle, some might say his life has been a bit of a whirlwind. Harry and Meghan met back in 2016, and within two years, they were married. They welcomed their first child just a year later, and the couple’s relationship soured with Harry’s family in the meantime. In 2020, Harry and Meghan fully disassociated with the working royal life, relocated to California, and have since continued doing things differently from Harry’s brother, Prince William, and his wife, Kate Middleton.
For years, the press has pitted William and Harry’s lives against each other, saying the Sussexes “can’t compete” with the Wales’, the latter of whom are first in line for the throne behind Harry and William’s father, King Charles. But the real question is: Why are they still being compared to one another?

The Sussexes and the Waleses have been in the news a lot lately but for very different reasons. The Prince and Princess of Wales have been grabbing attention for their appearances over the last few months at the royal wedding in Jordan, as well as annual spectator events like the Royal Ascot and Wimbledon.
Meghan and Harry have also garnered plenty of attention but most of it hasn’t been positive. After their partnership with Spotify was axed, one of the streaming platform’s executives called them “f****** grifters.

“Ruthless” isn’t a word that comes to mind for most people when they think of the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton). But that’s exactly how a royal expert is describing her after it was reported that Prince William’s wife was insistent that the Palace stick with its direct response following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.
There have been reports that the Sussexes’ interview caused the late Queen Elizabeth to cry, had William so sick he couldn’t eat, and enraged several other royals. While we may never know for sure what each member of the Firm was feeling at the time, we do know that the Palace released its response saying “recollections may vary.” And Kate reportedly wouldn’t have it any other way.

Some of Harry’s family ties, it seems, remain. That is, on his late mother’s side. According to historian Tessa Dunlop, the 38-year-old has “maintained” relationships with his aunts and uncle on Diana’s side.
“That side of the family seems to be better relations,” Dunlop told Express. Diana’s siblings include Lady Sarah McCorquodale, Lady Jane Fellowes, and Earl Charles Spencer.

A historian says the coronation is going to be especially emotional for Prince Harry. Sure, one part is that he’s reuniting with the royal family for the first time since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral. Another is the ceremony itself. From attending without Meghan Markle to a “painful fact,” how the coronation’s going to be a “very tough gig” for the Duke of Sussex.

“Yes, I think it will take guts for the Duke of Sussex to walk into Westminster Abbey alone on Saturday,” Dr. Tessa Dunlop, a royal expert and historian, told Mirror. “But if we’ve learnt [sic] anything about Harry over the last few years, it’s that he doesn’t shy away from a challenge. Going to the coronation alone is going to “be a bit of a nightmare” for Harry, historian Tessa Dunlop told Ok! Magazine.
“I was watching the body language when he came out of St. George’s Chapel when [Queen Elizabeth II] had finally been laid to rest on the last day of the funeral itself,” Dunlop said. “He was helping Meghan into the car, and he just wasn’t a man who was comfortable in his skin.”
“And this time he’s coming over without the support of Meghan,” she continued. “Clearly, he does lean on her very heavily.

She may occasionally experiment — ahem, BAFTAs glove moment — but Kate’s style is “timelessness,” according to royal historian Tessa Dunlop.
