For the first time since 2005, Fox is changing the schedule for its long-running adult animated series Family Guy. However, the move has many fans scared that the network might be considering canceling the popular series.
Here is what you need to know about when Family Guy will return to Fox, the reason for the schedule change, and if this means the network is canceling it.
Family Guy Not Coming Top Fox This Fall
The networks have released their Fall 2024 schedule and Family Guy is not listed on the schedule. This has many fans thinking Fox will cancel the show. Fans have been worried since Seth MacFarlane announced he was no longer writing the series and was just working as a voice talent.
However, there is some good news for fans of the animated series. Fox is not canceling the show. Instead, Family Guy will be a mid-season show, which means it will arrive in January.

Key to the ongoing conversations about Latino representation in the U.S. entertainment industry is the need for the diversification of stories, which in turn would breed valuable specificity. Rather than expecting one production to speak strongly to every single subset of the vast Latino community, projects should reflect the unique microcosms and experiences that speak to groups such as Cuban Americans in Florida, Mexican Americans in Los Angeles, or Dominican Americans in New York City.
Enter the multi-hyphenate Rudy Mancuso, whose charmingly inventive and loosely autobiographical feature directorial debut “Música” highlights the Brazilian American community of New Jersey’s Ironbound neighborhood. In addition to starring in the film as a fictionalized version of his younger self, the talented Mancuso — who started out making videos on the now-defunct app Vine before moving on to YouTube and live shows — co-wrote the screenplay with Dan Lagana and, fittingly, also created the integral music.

Before Rudy Mancuso wrote, directed, starred in and composed the music for his stylish debut feature, Música, he made exuberant short-form videos for Vine (R.I.P). In those six-second clips, many of which are compiled on YouTube, the artist experiments with slapstick comedy, an energetic editing style and bouncy compositions that channel how he sees the world. Mancuso has synesthesia, a perceptual condition in which any one kind of sensory stimulation can spark spontaneous reactions in another. Where others see a square, Mancuso might also hear a B note; the letter A will always be terracotta to him, and so on.
In Música, the artist mines his personal life and singular experience of the world to craft a charming coming-of-age story. The film, which premiered at SXSW and is streaming on Prime Video, follows Rudy (Mancuso) six weeks before his college graduation, when the young Newark native must confront...

Rudy Mancuso brings his unique style of music to a coming-of-age romantic comedy in Prime Video’s Música. Mancuso has done something wonderful in his directorial debut but it is not perfect. Following all the cliched beats of any rom-coms, Música distinguishes itself from other rom-coms because of its style of storytelling but it falls short when it comes to the real romance of it all.
Based on his own experiences, Mancuso co-wrote the film with Dan Lagana and it follows the story of a young man suffering from synesthesia, which turns all the sounds around him into music. With an uncertain future, an overbearing mother, and an interest in puppetry, Rudy gets stuck in a love triangle with his long-time girlfriend, who doesn’t understand him, and a girl he recently met, who supports his dreams.

On the surface, “Música” feels like a very standard story about a talented guy who finds himself caught between two girls he likes, and — rather than be honest with them — starts dating both at the same time. Hilarity ensues. Thankfully, much like the fictional Rudy he plays here, the real Rudy Mancuso is more than meets the eye. His feature directorial debut is a smart and charming coming-of-age love story that is also a musical and such a good cinematic portrayal of synesthesia that it’ll make you forget all about the other, misbegotten attempts to thread the same needle (does anyone remember “August Rush”?).
We are in the era of social media movie directors, but the days of “Fred: The Movie” are thankfully gone. Between Bo Burnham’s “Eighth Grade,” and Danny and Michael Philippou’s “Talk to Me,” YouTube is starting to seem like a viable incubator for worthwhile film directors.

Rudy Mancuso is ready to woo Camila Mendes with his life story, as told through song.
The digital creator makes his big screen debut writing, directing, and starring in “Música,” which charts his own coming-of-age story as an artist with synesthesia. Mancuso hears music everywhere, especially when he locks eyes with Isabella (Mendes) while at a New Jersey diner. Set in Newark, “Música” follows Mancuso’s balance of love, family, and his Brazilian culture.
The film will premiere at the 2024 SXSW Film & TV Festival on March 13. Mancuso wrote and directed the feature, with Dan Lagana co-writing. “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star J.B. Smoove, Francesca Reale, and Maria Mancuso also round out the cast.
This year’s SXSW features a slew of first-time filmmakers, including actor Dev Patel’s directorial debut “Monkey Man” and “SNL” alum Kyle Mooney stepping into the director’s chair for “Y2K.” “Música” premieres in the Narrative...

Filmed near the end of 2015, director McG’s horror comedy The Babysitter was released through the Netflix streaming service during the Halloween season of 2017 – and not only did it help establish Samara Weaving as a modern genre icon, it also did well enough to spawn a sequel. The Babysitter: Killer Queen was released by Netflix in September of 2020. Three years later (and eight years after he was in production on the first film), McG has confirmed to ComicBook.com that he’s still interested in making The Babysitter 3!
McG said, “We’re still talking about it. It was fun. The first movie, obviously, gave Samara Weaving to the world, and the second movie was Jenna Ortega. Hopefully we can answer the call and find a third star that reaches those lofty heights.“
The director previously told our friends at Bloody Disgusting, “There have always been three beats to this story. There’s the first beat,...

"Christmas with the Campbells" is coming to select theaters and AMC+ this weekend. If this is the first you're hearing of the movie, I cannot implore you enough to seek out this R-rated spin on the Hallmark holiday romantic comedy formula. Featuring a solid cast that includes Brittany Snow, Justin Long, and Alex Moffat, this production from Vince Vaughn and Peter Billingsley provides a raunchy, refreshing makeover of what has become a holiday staple for many people. Trust me when I say you'll experience some side-splitting laughter if you give this one a shot.
After becoming enamored with this jarring juxtaposition of nice holiday heart and naughty comedy, I spoke with director Clare Niederpruem, who has legit experience behind the camera of several Hallmark movies. Vaughn and Billingsley wanted someone who was familiar with that brand but was interested in injecting it with a little bit of salaciousness. Find out...

Every single year, it seems like there are at least a hundred new Hallmark holiday movies hitting cable and streaming services. No matter how cheesy, formulaic, or poorly acted these movies are, people can't seem to get enough of them. I'm not sure if most people are hate-watching them for a good laugh or if the holidays just have them seeking out the warmth of hammy holiday happiness and love. No matter what the reason, these movies are typically not for me. But thankfully, producers Vince Vaughn and Peter Billingsley have figured out a way to make these Hallmark holiday movies a little more appealing.
On the surface, the new holiday romantic comedy "Christmas with the Campbells" follows a familiar Hallmark movie formula. Brittany Snow ("Pitch Perfect") plays Jesse, whose life is thrown into upheaval when her douchebag boyfriend Shawn breaks up with her just a few days before Christmas.

Even if you don't actively watch Hallmark holiday movies, you can almost write your own in your head. You know how they look, how they feel, how every story beat goes. They are as predictable as they come, creating a comfort food of romance and holiday spirit. No one really watches a Hallmark movie for innovation... until now.

On Tuesday, AMC+ and Rlje Films announced they have acquired worldwide rights to “Christmas With the Campbells,” a new holiday comedy based on an original idea by Vince Vaughn, who also co-wrote and co-produced.
The film, which per the official description takes the traditional holiday romance and “executes it with unfiltered adult humor,” will debut in theaters and and exclusively on AMC+ in the U.S. on the same day in late fall.
Vaughn, Peter Billingsley (“Couples Retreat”) and Dan Lagana (“American Vandal”) produce under Vaughn’s Wild West Picture Show banner.
It’s the second project Vaughn and Billingsley have sold to Rlje, after 2021’s black Christmas comedy, “Silent Night,” which starred Keira Knightley.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better cast and a group of filmmakers with whom to work,” said Rlje Films Chief Acquisitions Officer Mark Ward in a statement. “This is the second collaboration between...

Nicolas Cage will not be playing Joe Exotic.
The beloved actor was set to lead an Amazon drama series based on the Texas Monthly article “Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild.”
But it sounds like the Tiger King craze is coming to a close with a thud.
“I think Amazon ultimately felt that it was material that had become past tense because it took so long for it come together,” Cage said to Variety of the decision.
“They felt at one point that it was lightning in a bottle, but that point has since faded into the distance and it’s no longer relevant.”
Indeed, the world has changed substantially since Netflix's wildly successful docu-series hit the air in 2020.

Amazon Prime Video has opted not to proceed with a scripted series starring Nicolas Cage as the infamous Joe Exotic, subject of the hit Netflix docuseries Tiger King, Deadline has confirmed.
The project, from CBS Studios and Imagine Television Studios, was set up at Amazon for development almost a year ago, at the height of the Tiger King popularity, which has since dissipated. It didn’t go past the script stage, and, at least for now, it appears unlikely that the show would be shopped elsewhere.
The news, which Cage confirmed to Variety, comes as Peacock has started production on their Joe Exotic limited series starring Kate McKinnon as Carole Baskin and John Cameron Mitchell as Joe Exotic.
The story in the Imagine/CBS Studios show, written by American Vandal showrunner Dan Lagana, centered around Joe Shreibvogel (Cage), an eccentric, exotic zookeeper in Oklahoma who fights to keep his park...

Amazon’s “Tiger King” series that would have starred Nicolas Cage as Joe Exotic has been scrapped, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.
The series was one of two scripted takes based on the Netflix docuseries. Peacock also has its own version on the story of Joe Schreibvogel (aka “Joe Exotic”) starring Kate McKinnon and John Cameron Mitchell.
In an interview with Variety, Cage expanded on the decision: “I read two excellent scripts, which I did think were excellent, but I think Amazon ultimately felt that it was material that had become past tense because it took so long for it come together. NBCUniversal's Joe Exotic series is moving along swimmingly.
The series has cast John Cameron Mitchell in the titular role of Joe "Exotic" Schreibvogel in the limited series, which is in the works at NBC, USA Network, and NBC Universal's streaming service, Peacock.
Mitchell is probably best known for writing and starring in Broadway's Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
"I'm thrilled to take on the role of this modern folk antihero," Mitchell said.
"Joe and I are the same age and like him, I grew up queer in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas so I feel like I know a little bit about this guy and his desperate attempt to conquer an inhospitable world."
Kate McKinnon is on board to play Carole Baskin.
The series will center around Baskin, Exotic, and the tigers they famously tussled over. The insanity begins when Baskin learns that her sworn nemesis is breeding and using his menagerie for profit.

In a wild turn of events, Netflix's runaway hit Tiger King is getting yet another scripted adaptation, and Nicolas Cage has been tapped to play the Tiger King himself: Joe Exotic. It's only fitting that an actor known for fantastic memes will be playing one of the best sources for memes in 2020. All jokes aside, this is a pretty big deal, as this will be Cage's first ever television role.

Heeellpppppp, the simulation is being weird again!
According to a report from Variety, and definitely not a fever-dream you just had last night, Nicolas Cage is set to play “Tiger King” Joe Exotic in a new scripted series.
The show is being developed by Imagine Television Studios and CBS Television Studios. It does not have a network or streaming entity lined up yet but this is sure to be one of those “competitive situations” you hear so much about. While real-life eccentric former private zoo owner Joe Exotic is best known in the public eye for Netflix’s Tiger King docuseries, this project will be based on the Texas Monthly article “Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild,” by Leif Reigstad.
Dan Lagana (American Vandal) and Paul Young (Key & Peele) optioned the project back in June of 2019, well before Tiger King set the world aflame.
