Chris Kattan's three-part comedy musical miniseries, Bollywood Hero which also features Neha Dhupia, Rachna Shah and Pooja Kumar, based on a Dutch movie of the same name, begins its first broadcast today. The premise is a simple one - an actor, whose once promising career is beginning to fade into cameo and walk-on comedy parts, seeks to restart it by starring in a Bollywood movie called Peculiar Dancing Boy. "Chris Kattan wanting to be a leading man is a joke, and it's a great way to poke fun of myself," says Kattan, 38. "It's not so much about finding a gig but good, respectful gigs."
Chris sees the parallels all too readily with his own career adding a certain poignancy to the whole series where the lines between fantasy and reality become blurred in a way that would please the maestro, Gary Shandling. "My dream was to be more like Mike Myers,...

This could qualify as a full-blown miracle.
On Tuesday a melody miracle happened when Lata Mangeshkar who will be 80 this year walked into young composer Mayuresh Pai’s studio and recorded the entire Hanuman Chalisa in four hours flat. An endeavor that has taken other far younger singers days, if not weeks to complete.
And that too after undergoing major knee surgery just two months ago.
The nightingale’s niece and a singer in her own right Rachna Shah says, “She had gone only to rehearse and not record the Hanuman Chalisa. But we don’t know what happened. Within half.

Rachna Shah is quite a name nowadays. After playing the role of Kamini, I Rang Rasiya, who is the muse to the paintings of Raja Ravi Verma, she will now be seen doing some serious action in her next film, Kal Kisne Dekha.
“I play a negative character in the film and I do some serious action sequence beating up the heroes,” jokes Rachna. She adds, “since both of my co-stars, Jacky Bhagnani and Rahul Dev were 6 feet 2 inches and the scenes were with them, ideally I should have done all my action scenes on a patla (stand). Even if I really wanted to beat them up, I wouldn’t have reached.
