Last night's Desperate Housewives (if you weren't enthralled by the Grammys) was all about the past coming to bite you in the ass. While the episode title threw me off a bit, especially since only one character had a short "flashback," it's resonance with the episode became clear by the end of the episode as the characters centered last night kind of had metaphorical flashbacks to times they wish they could just forget.
Zach Young is The Gunman
So it's truly confirmed thar Zach Young is the person behind Paul Young's shooting, but before we bring out the bells and whistles, it's is also apparently clear that life hasn't treated Zach so well since we last saw him. He blew all of his money and is now a druggie, which is a far cry from the Zach we were introduced to all the way back in Season One. While...

Paul enlisted the help of his mortal enemy Feb. 13 to find out who tried to kill him. As it turns out, the answer was… kind of obvious.
It was Zach (Cody Kasch), okay? Zach Young shot his daddy (Mark Moses) point blank after last winter’s big riot. I’m sorry to come to right out and say it without a big “spoiler alert,” but wasn’t it obvious at this point? It was even obvious to Paul, who asked Mike (James Denton) to track down his biological drug-addict son personally. But maybe Mike should have been paying less attention to Zach and more attention to his wife…
Susan (Teri Hatcher) got a kidney this week… and a stalker! She bumped into an old ‘friend’ from high school, Monroe, who suspiciously decided to donate his kidney to her cause. As it turned out, this ‘friend’ has been carrying a torch...

Too bad the last Desperate Housewives before February sweeps aired alongside the much-hyped Golden Globe Awards, because there were some decent turn of events that transpired in the hour.
It All Becomes Clear…
Zach Young’s reappearance last week still had a ripple effect in the ‘Who Shot Paul Young?’ mystery when Paul realized that the gun planted in Bree’s house (and the one used to shoot him) was none other than the gun Mary Alice shot herself with in the pilot episode. Why I didn’t correlate the two last week is beyond me, but I think it’s safe to name Zach Young the gunman in this mystery. I stress the word ‘think.’
It’s pretty interesting how the Paul Young mystery turned out this year so far. Instead of having Paul slowly plot revenge throughout the season, he’s implemented his plan, got shot because of it,...

After watching last night's Desperate Housewives, we think it's time for the show to revisit executing the element of surprise.
Last night marked the reappearance of Zack Young (Cody Kapsch), Mary Alice and Paul Young's "son", in nearly four years. The problem is that his return was the cliffhanger 'shocker' at the end of the episode, but the surprise was ruined when Cody Kapsch's name appeared in the guest starring credits. So we knew he was going to eventually appear. It just became a matter of when and how. As the show reached the final leg of the night, it was easy to notice Zach as the "flower guy" despite the disguise he wore. However, the whole planting of the gun in Bree's house somewhat salvaged the surpise of Zach's return and added a new layer to the 'Who Shot Paul Young?' mystery.
Does this mean that Zach...

The ladies of the lane squawked accusations on the Jan. 9 episode, but the final moments revealed yet another suspect.
Vanessa Williams‘ face sums up my feelings about this week’s Desperate Housewives. While most of the hour felt like empty calories, the main course proved juicy enough to keep us hungry for answers! Stop reading now if you don’t feel like being spoiled, because I’m about to discuss this week’s bomb-shell appearance by…
Zach Young (Cody Kasch!) Yes, Mike’s son is back on the lane — and he stirred up some serious drama at Bree’s (Marcia Cross) house when he posed as a flower delivery man. By planting a gun under Beth’s (Emily Bergl) seat, he set of a bitch-fest of The View proportions. Beth’s really bad at making friends.
Now, let’s talk about all that other filling:

Popnography reveals the inspiration for Avatar. Hee!
/Film plays defense for the critical attacks on AvatarWordastic on the language of stressful holiday exchanges (with movie referencing)
Zach Young does a pretty great 2009 at the Movies montage but it's very very guy focused. Even when Nine enters in it's pretty much just Dd-l
Culture Monster Annette Bening is really making a habit out of this Los Angeles stage star thing. Next up "Female of the Species" in February
Awards Daily "State of the Race" is Best Picture really anyone's game?
Cinematical For Your Consideration's post-nomination scene. I love it too. Catherine O'Hara is a genius. It's too bad about the rest of the movie though. Given the golden subject matter it should have been my favorite Christopher Guest movie but it's not even close.
In Contention Maggie Gyllenhaal switches to a "supporting" campaign for Crazy Heart. Wise move but I'm...
