Jimmy Kimmel is ready to drink up at the Oscars.
The host of the 96th Academy Awards is planning to do a shot of Don Julio tequila during the show with his sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez.
But they might not be the only ones drinking at that moment. A source tells Variety that tequila shots will also be available for the star-studded audience of nominees and presenters. “There is supposed to be tequila at their seats,” the source said.
Not that alcohol isn’t available at the Oscars. There are several bars in the lobby areas of the theater and drinks are also available in the Rolex green room backstage.
Guillermo often offers and does shots with celebs, including Charlize Theron, Amy Adams, Channing Tatum, Eddie Redmayne, Chris Pratt and Ke Huy Quan, on the Oscar red carpet.

The rumor that ABC fired Jimmy Kimmel was merely a joke the “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” team wrote, however, it flew over some viewers’ heads as many thought Kimmel was the newest on-air talent to get the boot from a network.
It all happened last month when Kimmel was talking about the recent firings of Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson and CNN’s Don Lemon during his opening monologue on the late night show.
“This is like if Ronald McDonald and the Burger King got fired on the same day,” the host said in jest. Kimmel’s bit was then interrupted by the show’s side personality Guillermo Rodriguez who delivered an ABC News Special Report,

We all knew that host Jimmy Kimmel would have to say something about "the slap" from last year's Academy Awards ceremony, but the jokes were thankfully pretty tame and gave some of the celebs in the audience a moment to shine. During his opening monologue, which ranged from "moderately funny" to "excessively cringe," he addressed the moment when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars by joking about the changes the Academy made to the ceremony to prevent that kind of thing from happening. Not only did he promise that they had a "crisis team" backstage to take care of any unexpected violence, but he was well-protected by a whole bunch of fierce fighting guests in the front few rows.
Kimmel pointed out the bizarre reaction from last year's events, as the shocked guests stayed in their seats and mostly just stared with their mouths agape. It's understandable that...

Film Bazaar host nation India and Spain are seeking to improve ties in the film and TV industries.
Delegations from both countries last week signed a three-way memorandum intended to boost production and assist filmmakers. The deal was signed by the Producers Guild of India, the Spain Film Commission and Casa de la India.
“The association will help Indian producers – across film, television and digital content – to access the best of equipment, talent, facilities, locations, incentives and government support when shooting in Spain,” said the Pgi on Friday.
The two countries have an audiovisual co-production treaty that was signed in 2012. But the Nfdc’s Film Facilitation Office website shows no example of it being used for a feature film. A seminar will be held at Film Bazaar on Monday on the future of Spain-India co-productions.

‘Shang-Chi’ Star Simu Liu is the latest “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” guest host, and on Wednesday’s episode, he put his Marvel super hero skills to good use by teaching Kimmel sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez how to be a credible action hero.
Then they undertake a pretty funny fake action movie filled with cliches and, honestly kind of believable action too. You can watch it above right now. The bit starts at the 7:30 mark.
Liu teed up the bit by bringing up his hit Marvel movie, “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” noting “to prepare for the role, I obviously did a ton of martial arts training. But when I agreed to host the show, I was very surprised to learn that Guillermo, our head of security, who let me just reiterate is tasked with protecting my life, has no martial arts training whatsoever,” he said.

Anthony Anderson guest hosted “Jimmy Kimmel Live” this Tuesday and he had plenty of cracks about the NBA finals, which kicked off game 1 tonight.
Anderson joked Kimmel was off “having a white boy summer” when he guest-hosted Kimmel’s post-nba finals show on Monday. Comedian Wanda Sykes is hosting Kimmel’s regular show this week since he’s on his annual summer break.
This year’s NBA finals is the Milwaukee Bucks versus the Phoenix Suns, or, as Anderson put it, “the battle of the cheap connecting flights!”
“Phoenix has never won an NBA championship,” Anderson pointed out. “But they do win the award for least creative team name. The Suns? You know who else has a sun? Literally every other city in the world.”
This prompted Anderson to think about what basketball teams have the weirdest names, and what he’d rename them to, if given the chance. “The...

Former President Donald Trump was reportedly so enraged by jokes at his expense, he allegedly asked his advisors about what legal recourse they to stop the likes of “Saturday Night Live” and Jimmy Kimmel from goofing on him. According to a report from The Daily Beast, Trump wanted the shows probed, perhaps even by the Department of Justice, but the conversations went nowhere.
On Tuesday’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Kimmel was tickled pink. His recently returned studio audience cheered and applauded when he read an excerpt from the report about Trump wanting to investigate him.

On Tuesday’s episode of his late-night talk show, Jimmy Kimmel tackled California’s insistence on staying a bit behind the federal curve, when it comes to the easing of Covid-19 health and safety protocols.
“Thank you for joining us here in sunny Southern California, where we’re still wearing masks, no matter what the CDC says,” the host deadpanned. “The state of California said they are not lifting the mask mandate in stores and public places until June 15th, which will be known as ‘Please Stop Screaming At The Assistant Manager Day’ all over town.”
At the beginning of his show, Kimmel also acknowledged the fact that masking guidelines from the CDC have been consistently confusing. Bearing this in mind, he decided to break them down, both for those who live in The Golden State and for those who are simply visiting. “If you’re vaccinated and you’re indoors,...

David Letterman famously helped Americans rebound from the trauma of 9/11 with a stirring monologue delivered from the stage of his show’s home, New York’s Ed Sullivan Theater. I've gotta be honest: Ben Affleck seems remarkably chill about the fact he's no longer going to be playing Batman in the DC film franchise.
Despite appearing as the caped crusader in three recent movies - Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, and Justice League - Affleck is hanging up his batsuit to make way for a younger version of the character, who will take over the mantle in 2021's The Batman. Rather than making his retirement from the character a big to-do, Affleck retweeted the news of his departure in January, adding, "Excited for #TheBatman in Summer 2021 and to see @MattReevesLA vision come to life."
He continued his streak of taking it all in stride while sitting down with Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday to promote his next film, Triple Frontier. Naturally, the discussion led to Batman, and the 46-year-old star had a fairly simple explanation as for why he's stepping away.

You think you’re pretty clever, don’t you, Josh Malina? Well, the jokes on you for the very first time, thanks to an elaborate hoax the cast of “Scandal” threw their notorious prankster co-star into — thanks to a little help from Jimmy Kimmel.
When the Shondaland show’s cast appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” following the series finale on Thursday, the host rolled tape of the revenge he helped Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) and Associates pull off on the actor, who plays David Rosen — and is known for being more than a bit of a troublemaker on set.
Kimmel set up Malina to think he and co-star Katie Lowes (who plays Quinn Perkins) were going to surprise a family watching “Scandal,” but little did he know they were actually actors. And he was about to give an elderly woman a “heart attack” by popping a very loud canister of confetti.
Also Read: 'Scandal' Finale: Stars Reveal the Weirdest Thing They Ever Did on Shondaland Series
The resulting scene is both horrifying and hilarious — as we know that Nana will be Ok, but Malina didn’t. He bends down by her side as they and says, “It was supposed to be a nice surprise, not a horrible surprise!” and wonders why no one told them about her heart condition.
Then, Kimmel comes in with Guillermo Rodriguez and Malina knows what’s up. “That’s the worst thing that anyone has ever done to me! That is the worst that anyone has ever done to anybody!” he says.
Well, thinking he may have killed someone is hopefully enough retribution for all the ways he’s messed with his castmates over the years. Maybe.

Maybe.
