Ed. Note: On Nov. 28, Joe Holcombe and his wife, Claryce, who lost eight family members in the church massacre in Sutherland Springs, Texas, as well as the unborn child of one of them, filed a lawsuit against the United States government, claiming negligence.
The suit states that the Air Force failed to enter shooter Devan Patrick Kelley’s name in the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s database after he pleaded guilty to domestic assault five years ago. According to the suit, had the Air Force entered Kelley’s name into the database, he would not have been able to obtain firearms.

Shawn Michaels is one of the stars in a film that WWE Studios just purchased called “The Resurrection of Gavin Stone.” It’s a faith-based title from the Harvest Bible Chapel’s Vertical Church Films.
The film wrapped production with the WWE Hall of Famer Michaels as part of the cast. The film also stars Brett Dalton (“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”), Anjelah Johnson-Reyes (“Moms’ Night Out”), D.B. Sweeney (“Suits,” “24”) and Neil Flynn (“The Middle”). It’s written by Andrea Nasfell (“Moms’ Night Out”) and directed by Dallas Jenkins (“What If…”).
“The Resurrection of Gavin Stone” tells the story of a former child star turned washed-up and troubled actor. After receiving a 200-hour community service sentence, Gavin Stone (Brett Dalton) pretends to be a Christian so he can play Jesus in a mega-church Easter production in order to fulfill his hours of service. Along the way, he reconnects...

I can't resist putting these images in dialogue. Are the two esteemed actresses thinking of each other in their grey flat-ironed wigs, or is this a subliminal cry for a sequel to the sapphic wonders of The Hours? As Christian so correctly observed on Twitter, Nicole is never going to let a grey hair near her scalp. But she died in The Hours so she can't be in the sequel anyway.
This twinned image was fun to discuss on Twitter but after the fact it reminded me of an earlier conversation with Anne Thompson and Kyle Buchanan about why there are so many aged lady villains in Ya adaptations. My contention is that it's their ageist way of playing both sides. So many stories about young girls that pay lipservice to "girlpower" are, just like stories centered on men and boys, still scared of the power and agency of (adult...

Survivor fans bid a fond farewell to friendly warrior Russell Swan on Wednesday night, as the second-time player was voted off after his tribe suffered four consecutive losses. Swan, who first appeared on 2009's Survivor: Samoa and was taken out early after suffering life-threatening dehydration, made a name for himself on the series with his diehard commitment to excellence and his honest and direct communication style. ETonline catches up with the 45-year-old Pennsylvania lawyer to hear his take on his Survivor: Philippines ouster.
ETonline: It was so hard to watch that challenge. You guys came so close last night to winning [and] not having to go to tribal council. How did that feel at that moment?
Russell [Swan]: Oh man, both there and here, I can only say my heart…I mean if I had a heart condition…it probably would have taken me out. You're just fingernails away from getting closer to this goal and to see...

EastEnders
I wish I could have just focused on the story that was playing out in these episodes, but I found myself very distracted by the horrible hairstyles of both Christian and Syed. First of all, John Partridge is a very good looking man, but he’s not 21 anymore and those brassy highlights just don’t work for him. Though, to be fair, they are in Christian’s character to do such a thing.
Still, they come off as an unfortunate attempt to hold on to your youth and such an attractive mature fella as Partridge need not do such things, Imo. Leave these bad hair choices to the twinks and the club kids, shall we? As for Marc Elliot, a trip to the barber is in order for a much needed trim. I usually don’t comment on such things, but like I said,...

Davenport, Iowa -- An Iowa woman is charged with extortion in an alleged plot to get Discovery Communications Inc. to cancel the TLC show "19 Kids and Counting" or pay her $10,000 in exchange for not revealing compromising photos of a cast member, according to federal court documents.
Teresa Hunt, of Bettendorf, is accused of threatening to release photos of a cast member in "apparently intimate situations" to a magazine.
Hunt was arrested Feb. 1 after she apparently sent television executives typed and handwritten letters demanding the show be canceled, along with a business card for "Perfect Pictures."
The reality show follows Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and their 19 children.
The letter was sent in January to the parent company of Ltc describing Hunt's professional relationship with a 56-year-old musician who performs in Branson, Mo., and providing details of an affair with an unspecified female cast member, according to an affidavit in U.

A woman claimed she had scandalous photos of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's niece, Amy, and demanded their network pay her $10,000 or cancel their reality show, '19 Kids and Counting' It's hard to believe anyone would try to extort a family as sweet and good as the Duggars, but that's exactly what a woman named Teresa Hunt recently attempted. Thankfully, she was busted in an FBI sting and is now facing federal charges, reports RadarOnline. Teresa told the network's parent company, Discovery Communications, to give her $10,000 or cancel 19 Kids and Counting, otherwise, she was going to release "scandalous" photos of Amy Duggar, Jim Bob and Michelle's niece. "An affidavit in court records said that Hunt sent a letter to Discovery Communications on January 4 stating that she had scandalous pictures of Amy Duggar with a much older musician and said they had even had sex in motel rooms," the story says.
